Just spent 8 days at this hotel and can't really fault it, for what you pay it's going to be hard to beat. Rooms cleaned every day, air con swimming pool with great view over the Bosphurus to Europe. Plenty of cheap or not so cheap restaurants in walking distance or stay in the bar and let crazy Baran the...

I used this hotel several times because of its location (very close to my business). There were no other alternatives at this price range in the area. Actually the hotel has prime view if your room is on the sea side. Yet rooms are a bit ill equipped and small. Breakfast is away from being satisfactory. Staff is average. Still,...

The hotel in Asia side with beautiful view of Bosphores . Room in bad conditions , limited services, breakfast very bad always coffee machine not working. Very expensive compare to what they offer. I do not recommend it if you seek a good quality hotel

We stayed here at the end of August. It is situated close to the port so it could be a little noisy at times but it was no problem at all, once the balcony door was closed it was quiet. The decor and furnishings in the room and the rest of the hotel was a little dated but the bed...

There was so much going on, the buses, cars, ferries , ships, liners lots of activity It was...

Having stayed in Istanbul before we decided to try the Asian side. Hotel is very close to the car ferry to the European side - 5 minute walk but up a short steep hill. Would recommend a Corner Suite (402 or 502) for best views of the shipping in the Bosphorus - yes, there is noise from the port but...

Clean and quiet - stayed a week beginning of August, then went to Izmir, Dalyan and Kas for another week and back to hotel before departure. Fresh air from the balcony gave a sound peaceful sleep. Conveniently located to a close walk to the ferries and across to all the sites e.g.. Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern et al....

Stayed for a week at the Harem hotel. Easy journey over to the other side of Istanbul but equally found decent restaurants on the Asian side of the Bosphorus too. Great market sometimes springs up further up the hill and some great views over the estuary. Hotel was clean enough and staff were professional.

This hotel on the Asian side of Istanbul is a lovely place to stay. We were on the sixth floor with wondrful views of the sea and all the comings and goings of the ferries. Although a little noisy when outside, once you closed your balcony door you could hear nothing, and we slept very soundly. The staff were very...

Staying in Uskudar

Neighbourhood Profile
Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
