Cihangir, Istanbul, is the cool area where I used to live for 8 years, so staying in the Villa Zurich hotel is a logical thing for me. It is close to anywhere you want to go in Istanbul. The hotel is clean, good beds, staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok, not overwhelming. Curtains are sometimes a problem...

I think you get a solid 4-5 star hotel here for a lot less money. Everything is clean and well managed and the rooms are lovely. The staff are helpful so if it's your first time there this might be a nice option if you need advice on where to go. The location is good. Just a 2-3 minutes from...

I've been a regular guest at this hotel for some time in large part because of its great location (10 minute walk from Taksim square). It used to be a shabby hotel with little or no personality. The new management and the facelift it recently got have changed things in a significant way. The rooms are still small, but they...

I truly enjoy my one-night business stay at this hotel situated in charming Cihangir. The location is just great in a beatiful vivid international neighbourhood. Rooms are pretty spacious, well-designed and nicely decorated, only bathrooms may require more technical care. But, in terms of cleanliness, the hotel is perfect. Rooms and common spaces offer free wi fi connection. A diverse...

A very nice hotel with excellent staff, all very helpful and accommodating. Always someone available who spoke English. Good location, clean and value for money. Only a few issues with the room, which took a little while to sort out – the curtains and heating. Lovely view from the dining areas. Interesting breakfast options, very traditional. I experienced issues regarding...

We stayed here for about 4 nights, which I should say 4 terrible nights. The room was very dirty - the bed sheets were so dirty and smelly. It's on top of a club/bar, which makes your room so so so noisy (till 3-4am!!). The bathroom was also not comfortable - water licking into the entire bathroom. We tried to...

I'v been there few years ago, and would always recommend this hotel for a short stay, if you choose to be close to Taksim. It is very good location and neighborhood is very charming. Roms are small but clean. Breakfast is served on the rooftop with spectacular views of the Bosphorus.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
