Spent 5 days here. Lovely little hotel. Spotlessly clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast and good location. A pity their rooftop restaurant was closed, I was looking forward to eating there. My only complaint is that the wifi is very unreliable. People expect good reliable wifi in 2017 and not being able to connect with the internet a...

The hotel is in the heart of Istanbul. It´s not far away from the Galatabridge. The staff ist friendly and the service was good. Everything was clean and in a good condition. The only minus was the food. For us it was better to eat outside.

Another trip to Istanbul and, of course, stayed at my favourite hotel. Orient Express is still a shining example of excellent customer service - a real 'gem'. As a solo traveller, it is important to me to feel welcome and 'looked after'. I see familiar, happy faces when I arrive and can honestly say that it's a most genuine welcome....

Delightful hotel, with friendly staff and excellent facilities. The rooms were spacious and the room staff would even twist and contort your bathtowels into elegant mating swans. The breakfast was traditional but the main attraction was the rooftop restaurant. Not only are the views of Istanbul spectacular but the food is comparable with the best haut cuisine istanbul has to offer....

Great location, friendly staff, warm indoor pool and an amazing restaurant on the roof top. Themed rooms, makes you feel that you are in fact in 19th century Istanbul and they are fabulous, spotless, clean fresh, with a certain feel of luxury, but not over the top. Great breakfast with plenty of choice of everything and whatever comes to your...

Torguay,Cihan and Ali at reception were amazing. Very charming and helpful although they must get asked the same question hundreds of times like "how do I get to the Blue Mosque"! The location is perfection as most attractions are within walking distance. Lovely restaurants close by but the ones on the Main Street are expensive. Go into the side streets...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
