The hotel is conveniently located, all the historical places are easy to reach by walking. The rooms we stayed were basic, clean and comfortable with good AC. Breakfast is OK, the same everyday, with not many foods to choose from. The staff was friendly and the service excellent.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of a two-week trip. It was conveniently located, clean, good breakfast and nice rooftop deck. The rooms we were in were pretty basic, clean, a bit old looking - AC was ok but not spectacular.

The location of the hotel is really perfect, you can reach everywhere, all the historical places by walking. The breakfast is OK, the rooms are large but this place is not the cleanest place in the world.

Hotel Albatros is perfectly situated in the historical Sultanhamet quarter to visit all historical highlights. The rooms are relatively small but big enough for a citytrip. Breakfast is generally Turkish. People are very nice and service is very good. Food and drinks are rather expensive (Europeanen hotelprices). Big roof terrace with a nice 360° view. Too bad the bar isn't...

My family and I have been to Turkey several times over the years and we always stayed across the street at the Sultan's Inn. But after several mishaps, we decided to move over to the Albatros. They greeted us with warm faces and a pleasant atmosphere. The room was amazing and spacious. Breakfast was wonderful and the people couldn't be...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
