Great looking hotel with the best scrabbled eggs and french toast at any hotel i have been to. Staff speaks good english and will go out of there way to accommodate your itinerary. 1 block away from the arista bazaar and blue mosque. Great prices on big hotel rooms that are decorated in classic ottoman style.

The staff were kind. Rooms perfect. And the 2 main managers were amazingly kind, thoughtful and helpful eveytime we saw them! Would love to go back and see them again. The place is clean, the food clean, abundant and tasty. But it is the real people, these guys that make the stay enjoyable.

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning this year (2016). We selected through research on tripadvisor.com and other sites. The hotel is very well located, it's close to Sultanahmet the main square of Istanbul and where are the main atracttions of the old town, you can go there walking. There are one small market on the way with shops...

It is likely Tashkonak and Sultan Royal are the same hotel. But the bulletin on the old building of Sultan Royal Hotel is short of information and the old building is close. Customers arriving there can not get anything.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
