The staff were exceptionally helpful and professional. Their english was very good and there was no problems in communication. The location is fantastic and virtually sits on the blue mosque. It is...

The hotel is near the hippodrome and blue mosque - very convenient. The street is small and quiet, the hotel comfortable and friendly. The breakfast is very good, plenty of choice and attentive staff making sure that coffee and milk jugs etc. are refilled. The hotel isn't smart but makes up for that in little extras, such as tea in...

I have stayed in Tashkonak Hotel twice and really enjoyed their friendly staff, clean rooms and beautiful breakfast. The other good point about this hotel is it's central location it is very close to tourist attractions and city center. I definitely suggest this hotel to my friends.

We enjoyed out stay, employees were very helpful with tourist information and directions, the breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was within walking distance to everything we wanted to go and see. Be prepared for the early morning call to prayers. We would stay there again if we are in Turkey.

I can't praise all the staff enough for their helpful and friendly attitude. It made the stay an absolute pleasure. Our room was a bit small but we had got an amazing deal so were not surprised by that. The bed was big and comfortable though and the room cleaned daily. The room had a fridge, a safe and a...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
