We've just returned from a week in Istanbul where we stayed in the Almina Hotel which was in the Sultanahmet district. As other guests have already said it is a small & very friendly establishment. We also found all the staff most friendly, helpful & professional & they went out of their way to make sure you had an enjoyable...

We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in Sep 2014. All the attractions we liked to see were very close to us.the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi palace, and Arasta bazar were all in walking distance. The rooms were very clean with very comfy beds. We stayed in a second floor sought side & it was quiet even thought the...

The Almina Hotel is a boutique hotel. It has a small number of rooms on different floors but has a lift. We were made very welcome from the time we arrived to when we left. Cilem was wonderful. She was welcoming and helped us organise our days with some great suggestions-and she's only new to the job. The breakfast buffet...

We, 2 couples, in our mid- fifties stayed for 4 nights, from the 18th. to the 22nd. of September 2014, at this wonderful little hotel in the middle of the old city of Istanbul. The staff was very helpful and friendly in every respect. There is a lot to be learnt here by hotels in EU in general; how to...

We have just returned from a super eventful vacation at Almina Hotel in the old part of Istanbul. The hotel was located in a small street right behind the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in Sultanahmet. It is a very cosy and interesting area if you want to experience the old Istanbul. The staff at Almina hotel was super serviceminded...

Hotel rooms are nice and comfy, clean and there is a safe. Breakfast was of average quality... Lots to choose from (mostly cheese, meats and eggs) but a little crowded in the buffet area. Nice little hotel near old city. Good location for all the old sites of Istanbul!

The hotel staff were brilliant they made our holiday, efficient and friendly reception especially from Ayse and Atilla and then our bar tender Erdagon on the great roof terrace with views over the sea. Very comfortable beds and nice clean rooms though noisy at night (don't forget your earplugs) Close to the square for the main sites, though the streets...

The location is good even though the alley is a little deserted at night , The best rooms are in the 3rd floor, the first and basement are just a nightmare! way too loud, it feels like you are sleeping in the street. The staff was very accommodating, and I will stay there if I were to go to Istanbul...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
