Hotel's Favourite
We arrived by taxi transfer arranged through the hotel
The drive was really comfortable facilitated by our cheerful, knowledgable driver who circumnavigated some of the most horrendous traffic I have ever seen around the world to deliver us safely via numerous cut backs!! The journey back was less fraught as we went early in the morning but again a comfortable and well timed run for our return flight.
We were greeted outside the hotel by the receptionist and another member of staff who took our bags
First impressions confirmed what we saw in the photos that it was an authentic homely family style hotel of a high standard as described
We discovered that the air con was not working but this was quickly rectified as soon as we mentioned it so that immediately demonstrated the level of service we were going to receive. ( It worked perfectly thereafter)
The receptionist was proud to say on the first night that he had worked there 14 years and loved his job and the hotel. iIt seemed like that for all the staff and it showed in the customer service taking pride in their vocation which made our stay awesome!!
They helped us to plan some trips. We like a mixture of organised trips and independent forays as we are quite confident travellers but again the hotel was able to point us in the right direction to make the most of our days.
They arranged a tour guide for us on our first day who was excellent, friendly knowledgable and was a pleasure to meet. Ahmed made our stay by cracking away most of the big tourist sights and steering us around, getting us orientated for the rest of our stay.
Top tip before you go to Istanbul or on arrival check for any closures of the main sights. We saw that the Topkapi Palace was closed on the Monday so if we had planned a trip for then we would have been dissapointed😕
We also asked about trips on the Bosphorus which picks up and drops off from the hotel. They are able to book into those and numerous other activities.
Our balcony room was excellent in this local hotel Our bed was comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was awesome We also had a Turkish bath.
There was a hair dryer, fridge and free bottled water alongside tea and coffee facilities
The rooms were clean and well serviced.
If you need it there is a tv and we had a nice table and chairs on the balcony to chill out and drink more water!!! ( There is a off license type shop just outside the hotel if you want a cheeky bottle for the room)
The hotel lobby had a comfortable seating area and the Hotel itself is conveniently located about 10-15 minutes stroll/walk to the main sights in the old city and there are a lot of cafe's restaurants and bars within walking distance to satisfy all tastes, budgets and styles.
If we were to return to Istanbul we would not look to stay anywhere else and would highly reccomended this hotel for its resturant, it's rooms and of course for the high standard of customer care

We initially booked this hotel because of the garden. Since it is an old building, I expected the garden to be accompanied by an old, shabby structure. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The entrance to the hotel does not give an indication of what one finds inside. The hotel is beautiful, with a nice lobby and garden where one can have breakfast. Breakfast is excellent (more savoury than sweet) but it caters for different tastes and is abundant, varied and very good. The breakfast staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel does not have an elevator due to it being an old building. However, I asked the hotel staff for a triple room on the first floor because I have mobility problems and we were given a fabulous room overlooking the garden reachable through a very small flight of steps. Wifi and air-conditioning in the room were both fine. The room also had a safe, a refrigerator and a kettle apart from the very nice furniture. The bed is extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel is 5 minutes away from Sultanahmet square which I think is the nicest part of Istanbul (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace are all close to each other and about 5 to 10 minutes from the hotel. From there one can also take the tram. The staff of the hotel is very professional and nice. Most of them understand and speak English and are always ready to help and to serve their guests in the best possible way. The hotel also serves lunch and dinner in the garden and overlooking terrace. Apart from the magical garden atmosphere, the light music and the professional staff, the food is exquisite. The wine is expensive (it is in most restaurants where it is served). We were given a 15% discount for our first dinner at the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel without reservations. It is not cheap but for what it offers, it is certainly good value for money. It is after all a 4-star hotel and for three adults x 8 nights, it was definitely worth it.

What we liked
· The room was really nice, spacious, and nicely decorated, it had a good size balcony with a really nice view to the back garden witch was nicely decorated with plants. It has a courtyard shared with a restaurant that can actually bring food to your room. The Hotel front man was really nice and friendly, and the staff in general.
What we did not like
· The room had glass door at the bathroom entrance that was partially blinded and had huge gaps not being sealed properly to the door frame, it was really bad, when we went to the bathroom the other one went to the balcony, it also had a very old hairdryer, and a leaking shower cable.
The cleaning service was way off, on the first day they came at 5PM (we couldn't sleep because we knew they had to change our towels and needed toilet paper), they forgot to bring our towels back, but the front man kindly gave us a replacent at 9PM. Under the bed was a lot of dust, they did not clean it for weeks, and the bathroom heater was really rusty, so you could not dry anything if you walked in rain because it would stain. A nother incident that had nothing to do with the hotel is that the restaurant that can bring the food in your room, came to take back the plates after an order at 11:30 PM and woke us out off sleep, it seemed really rude. The thing that really bugged me is that i did a review first giving them a 7, because of the restaurant incident, i was contacted by their team, to delete the review because they said they have nothing to do with the restaurant. They said that reviews are fundamental to the welfare of their business, and would therefore be extremely grateful if i could leave them positive feedback on trip advisor and/or a great review on the booking website. Encouraging me to give a good review because their business depends on it, seemed really awfull to me, thats wy we write reviews so that people know of the problems, and the hotel team see the problem and improve. When the reviews are not posted the hotel rarely changes a thing.

Had stayed in the suite room for 3 nights and never managed to sleep well for a single night. While the room size is generous, the sound proofing of the room is poor and I was awakened by passing vehicles several times a night.
There is also no elevator and hence it is not suited for anyone with big and heavy luggages.
The drapes in the room also could not keep out the very bright street lights shining into the room.
The location is a tag further to the tram stop and the blue mosque compared to several other hotels in the vicinity.
The breakfast was also underwhelming compared with the 5 other hotels which I had stayed in various cities in Turkey.
Any positive aspect of this hotel counts for little to me if it could not even offer me a good night rest after a long day of sightseeing.

First and foremost, I will clarify this review solely based on my experience dealing with the hotel and not the stay at the hotel itself, because that never happened.
If you book to stay at this hotel and you cannot travel due to any national lockdown, covid-19 or government restrictions then this hotel will NOT offer you a refund. We had booked to stay at this hotel in last year in June 2020 and like many of us were unable to travel due to a world wide national lockdown. Out of the various hotels we had booked, this one was the only one not willing to offer us a refund but did however give us the option to rebook in 2021 at no extra cost. Now the world is starting to open back up again, we've booked another trip to Turkey at the end of this year and got back in touch with the hotel.
The hotel have now refused to allow us to rebook our stay at the hotel, albeit which we had already paid for in full last year and only give us an option to rebook at a 'discounted' price.
If you book this hotel please bare in mind they will NOT refund you and charge you extra to rebook if you can't travel and is out of your control.
There are plenty of other hotels that are offering refunds if you can't travel so during these tough times it is better to play on the safe side and book elsewhere.

Харесаха · The location is excellent. Minutes from the Blue Mosque, St. Sofia, etc. The hotel is cozy, with relatively small, but with all the amenities rooms. They even have small balconies. The cleaning of the rooms and the replacement of the consumables in the bathrooms and the rooms themselves was daily. The hotel restaurant is very good, with one of the few internal gardens in the area. The cuisine is excellent, although not very cheap. Breakfast is nothing special, but it is completely satisfactory. There is a parking lot 50 meters against prior reservation and a small fee. The staff is very polite, kind and ready to help with anything. We are especially pleased with the attitude of a boy at the reception of Russian origin with very good English and Russian, who was especially responsive and we thank him for everything! Unfortunately, we did not understand his name, for which we apologize. Thanks also to Merve Tokdemir, General Manager.
We will be happy to be guests of this hotel on our next visit to Istanbul.

Our room was exceptional due to its spacious nature, hardwood floors, and overall decor. Our kingsize bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was well designed (the shower had a marble bench!). We could not use our balcony because it rained most of the time during our stay. That did not stop us from exploring all of Istanbul by foot and tram. The location of the hotel was ideal for sightseeing - just within a short walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, key museums, bazaars, etc. The rain did make us lazy one evening, when we easily opted to stay in and eat at the hotel's restaurant, which turned out to be out of this world. Staff at the restaurant were exceptional, just like everyone at reception (super responsive) and breakfast time (great buffet). Our only regret could not be addressed by the hotel: the weather was cold and windy. That, however, will give us an excuse to come back during the summer.

Great little hotel with an excellent restaurant in the courtyard. Room was clean and had all the basic amenities: wifi, safe, shower stuff, etc.
Staff was very helpful, there's always someone at the front who can help you whether you need directions, recommendations, or anything for your room (such as an outlet converter).
They also arranged our PCR test (it was a requirement for our flight back), with a medical professional coming to the hotel to do the test one day before our flight.
The hotel is in the middle of Sultanahmet, walking distance from the light rail station as well as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Little Hagia Sophia. The last one is literally down the street. This is important because traffic in Istanbul can be quite bad so don't count on cabs that much.
Streets around the hotel are old and cute, definitely feels like you're in a city with ancient history.
The hotel has a decent buffet breakfast. With the pandemic everyone had to wear masks around food.

A wonderful hotel in the perfect location with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious, beautifully clean, quiet and well appointed. Actually this hotel is really friendly. This is the most favoritest hotel in my life. However, If you'll be with many luggages or prams, It'll be 2 problems.
1. This hotel is not so wide. and, you know this hotel is without the lifts. I had took just two luggages. Weght was around 20kg/1lug. But, I felt very hard.
2. There are steep and thin slopes around the hotel. In addition, really a lots cars come and go. If you'll be with many luggages, you have to take luggages and keep your eyes on your children. I recommend you to take a taxi (if you're ganna stay here).
Yes, you can drink tea and coffee in your room. There is an electric kettle and sachets of coffee and tea. In addition, the patio has a vending machine with coffee and tea. Free for all day
As a general rule in Sultanahmet hotels, if you reserve 3 nights, you get one trip to OR from Ataturk Airport for free. If you reserve more than 5 nights, you get roundtrip pickup and drop off from and to Ataturk Airport for free.
If your hotel isn't offering this, discuss it with them via e-mail and have them include it. In 99% of the cases, they will respond positively.
Also, you can always discuss a little extra discount through direct reservations with the hotel itself, especially of you pay cash in Euros.
we booked a standard room and that was spacious as well.ours overlooked street.
I think it's 40 euro round trip per person. But honestly I can't remember. You can email them.
