The Hotel lived up to our expectations. Positioned in the centre of the best tourist district, room cleaned every day. Continental breakfast not to our taste. Entry into the blue Mosque was free and well worth a visit and the Hagia Sophia next door is also worth a visit. The tram system of trouble in the city was excellent with... More

This hotel has a great position, very close to most of Istanbul sites. It's a good deal for a couple of nights. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a room with a view over an "under construction" building but it must be finished by now :)

we spent 4 days at Ersu hotel on June,2015. I think that in that price you can find better hotel. The best thing is that the hotel has very good location. You can walk to all major attractions and if you want transport the gulhane tram station is in front of the hotel. As for the rooms, they are very... More

We came here for our small wedding, just 6 people, and we booked the room many months ago thru Booking.com website and were no problem at all at the check-in.We couldn't find more photos about this hotel so we shoot plenty for turist information, including inside/outside areas. As i read before, the people's score for this hotel is depending on the... For a 3* hotel in Istanbul it is the worse possible choice. We had a room at the second floor and every evening it stinked like fried fish because of the restaurant at the first floor. The room was incrediy small, we had no table or chair in the room whatsoever so there was no place to put a bag... More

The hotel staff were nice. However, the hotel was not very nice. The shower leaked, so our bathroom floor was flooded most of the night; the breakfast was included, but the coffee was not nice. The rooms were very noisy at night. Cleanliness was satisfactory, although not incredible, but there are so many other hotels in Istanbul, that i was... More

This hotel is very well situated close to the tram and all the major sights. Our room was clean and airy. We did have a problem with our pick up from the airport but got there eventually. The staff were always very helpful and it is good value for what we paid,

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“The hotel is close to the Gulhane Tramway station. It is convenient to go any place by Tramway however the noise made by the tramway is clearly heard even at 23:00 and early 6:00. I stayed there for 4 nights and gradually get used to them. However, the noise made by the room next to me is not so tolerable. I can hear children screaming and crying in turns when I wanted to have a little nap to avoid the heat in the afternoon. About the cleanness, this hotel is poor in maintain air conditioner. I think they have never clean them cause I saw dirt clusters dropped on the bed after I opened the air conditioner for 10 mins.”

“- Get rooms closer to the lift because wifi routers are there e.g. 501 or 506 --- we stayed in both rooms before and after our Cappadocia trip. - To be honest, some of the rooms ARE abit older e.g. 501 evident from the wear and tear e.g. a sliding bathroom door that won't slide or moldy showerhead, so don't be so quick to settle in, just in case you want to ask for a change of rooms e.g. 506 was quite good.”
  • Really basic bathroom so bring your own toiletries...
  • 501 is more spacious with queen and single bed...
