Istanbul Hostel has really friendly staff. That's is the only good thing I can say. There is a passable breakfast included. The Negatives: The Shower heads downstairs were all terrible, it was nearly impossible to have a shower. I would compare it to having showers in the worst guesthouses in India, its just not acceptable in a developed country like...

We stay here for 3 days for our tour in Turkey. And we found this place as a perfect place to stay because this is near to the many tourist attractions in Istanbul. And we're not wrong about it. The room was nice and pleasant with very comfortable bed. The foods was delicious. The service was great and the staff...

Situated in the heart of Sultanahmet,Istanbul hostel is a stones throw away from some of the most beautiful and well known city attractions. The staff are super helpful and nice, and helped me plan my trip around Turkey. The 21 bed room is in a nice open room with big wood double doors, giving it an old authentic feeling. Big...

Istanbul hostel is perfectly situated right off of Sultanahmet with plenty of bars and cafes nearby. The Four Seasons is located right beside it to use as a reference point if in a taxi or black car. The staff is wonderfully helpful with everything one needs. The rooms are clean; the bathroom well cleaned and with plenty of hot water...

Prime location. This place isn't going to sweep you off your feet in luxury but in a very humble kind of way gives you a home away from home vibe. Helpful staff. Only minor setbacks were dodgy WiFi and paying for a towel but hey, for a 10ner you can't go wrong

OK so there I was going to Istanbul, up there on my Bucket list. After looking for a while I found this one, with several hostel awards. Well - they did not lie I can tell you that. Its all there - location, service and a marvelous terrace with a bar upstairs where you can enjoy a lazy evening with...

Not a bad hostel. A view from the roof top is amazing! With seaside on one side and Hagya Sofia on the other! Just loved it. Descent breakfasts. Rooms are average with no lockers. Bathroom is...well, always have some Lamisil cream with you))) And the hostel is right next to Sofia-Blue mosque square which is so cool)

We stayed here for 3 nights while starting our trip in Turkey. Depending on which airport you fly into it can be a bit confusing on how to get there. They proposed a shuttle pickup from Sabiha Gokcen airport for 55 euros (I think they meant TL but wasn't sure) for 2 people which is very expensive. We found a...

The hostel was not too bad. The room was clean & reasonably-sized. The shared bathrooms were kept relatively clean and there was always a toilet or shower when I needed one. The wifi worked pretty well and the free breakfast was basic but good, with a good view from the dining area on the roof. The staff were friendly. The...

I stayed at the 21-bed-room. It was located at the basement which looks like a world war bunker. The breakfast is fair, with a great view on the roof. Bathrooms lack of paper and were not too clean. Bed was good for one, two nights sleep. The lacation is great, very close to Blue Mosque and the main tourist attractions....

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
