Sumahan is an elegant hotel by the water. You feel like you are living in a house on the water. Magical Istanbul view, cosy rooms with perfect view. Hotel restaurant Tapasuma is also best in the city. Would recommend for a romantic escape..
We went as 3 couples for my husband's birthday. The location and service was very good but the food was not that great. It was also quite empty. It could be much better as the ambience of the place is very good and romantic. I...More
Beautiful luxury property on one of the prettiest locations of Istanbul bosphorus. All rooms have incredible views. They are very authentically decorated with little hammams and some open to the garden on the waterfront. The restaurant and breakfast is excellent. Service could be more professional.

Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand
residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.

As I remember, there was one around 9am and another around 11am and another after 1pm then coming back there were 3 or 4 after noon up til about 8pm. But you should write them from their website and they will send you a schedule. The frequency and lateness of trips somewhat depends on the season as I recall. It is a very sweet boat with inside and outside seating for about 10 people and a lovely way to travel to Karikoy where you can get the tram to the old city (Sultanhamet) or ferries to Kadikoy. You need to schedule in advance with the front desk especially during the high tourist season. We were there in April so it wasn't a problem. Hope that is helpful.
