Extremely nice stay. It's a small comfortable guesthouse where you feel like you're visiting with family. They can arrange tours for you, take advise from them. They will help you to avoid booking with disreputable agencies. Nice restaurant, small but diverse menu.

Amazing location! Right next to the museum and Walkable to the castle (5 min), Ephesus (30min walking) and a ton of restaurants and shops. The manager is very accommodating and helped me with my stay. The restaurant and bar is excellent. I felt like the staff went out of their way to make me feel at home. I highly recommend this place. I had a wonderful stay!

Pirate rooms super sharp. Owners wife very personable. Dorms in basement, has two windows that need to stay open, one working one not working fan. There is strong smell of dampness when windows closed n fan off. To turn On and open windows I had to climb on the beds. We were 6 in the room and had no problem with two toilts/showers. Yummy free breakfast was a redeeming ☆. Owner turned off fan but left lights on(??) but season is low and lots of competition so maybe that's the reason. Price was cheapest so I am satisfied, owners wife nice and better than a park bench. 3.5/5

Once again I ha e come back to the Boomerang. Now run by the lovely Gamze and Hamdullah, brother of Huseyin and Abdullah, who have run the place in previous years.

Affordable, friendly, good food, clean beds and facilities I am in the dorm, with a few friendly strangers. In the past, with my wife, we stayed in their double rooms. I recommend both.

An added bonus is the Garden Restaurant where I enjoyed lovely breakfast and evening meals.

Close to the bus station, museum and railway to Izmir Airport. I travelled by train from their to Selcuk for 25 tl, £1.20..

This is a beautifully designed and well-maintained accommodation option. There is a variety of options, including dormitory. The rooms are very comfortable and the hosts are bilingual and very welcoming. This is within walking distance of the Temple of Artemis and the Citadel, as well as St John's Basilica.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean. The location is great. It's only a few minutes walk from the train station and local bus station. Huseyin gave good recommendations and showed me where to take the minibus to Ephesus. He went out of his way to help me with my charger issue. I'd stay here when I visit Selcuk again. Thank you, Huseyin!

Friendly owner operated, good customer service. The rooms are very clean and tidy ,rooms recently have been renovated, just like brand new conditions. The price is reasonable and competitive. The location is just close to the town, center and right next to the Ephesus musume. The next door is Boomerang restaurant, foods there are very fresh and dilicious. Definitly recommend anyone to stay at this cosy place.

If you are visiting selcuk in winter time make sure you do not book into their dormitory room. The room is colder inside than it is outside, which makes it near impossible to sleep! They supply one blanket per bed which smells of mildew. We slept in three woollen layers and woollen socks and were still cold. Furthermore, their is no hot water which means it is near impossible to get warm.

When we asked the owner for a heater or for other blankets we got told that this is the way dormitory rooms are and that if we want a warm room we need to upgrade to a private room.

The staff became extremely rude and hostile after we asked for heating.

Overall I would say that unless you are extremely desperate and have no other options do NOT stay here.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in.

At first glance, Boomerang did not have a lot of atmosphere but the location was good, the price was right and everything looked new and clean so we decided to stay. The owner seemed hospitable and friendly but it didn't take long for him to get on my nerves. Once when sat down and checked in and chatted for a bit he asked us what our travel plans were. We told him we were booked to take a cruise in Fethiye, and he told us that the one we booked was too expensive and basically tried to make us feel stupid for booking us. He tried to convince us to cancel it and book with some other operator, no doubt a friend of us. It was extremely irritating and he gave me a really bad vibe, and I really should have just left at that point.

Once we got settled into our room I started noticing little things like the toilet wasn't clean, there wasn't enough toilet paper, we couldn't lock our balcony door, etc. I checked the mattress for bed bugs when we arrived and it seemed alright, although again, not very clean. We looked around for the owner to ask about our balcony door and get some toilet paper, but he was nowhere to be found. We later realized that the reason for this is that he sits at the bus station all day trying to get more customers, instead of taking better care of his establishment and guests!

In the morning when we went up for breakfast I poked my head into the empty room next to us and was appalled to see bed bug fecal matter all over the uncovered box springs! It made my sick to my stomach. We went and grabbed the owner and pointed out what I saw and asked him if anyone had ever complained about bed bugs before and his exact words were: "No. Never". After seeing the reviews on this site that was obviously a lie! I told him based on what I saw he had a serious problem and he said "You know, you're right. But that's from before, we have renovated. Everything is brand new! How can it be possible to have bugs?" Well, that may be true, but the beds themselves are certainly not brand new! He told us they had been sprayed but I really don't think that is good enough, and also I think he is extremely ignorant about bed bugs if he is just leaving the signs so out in the open like that. After reading reviews on this site it is clear that people HAVE complained before and he has done nothing about it! We also mentioned that our balcony door wouldn't lock and he showed us how to do it and then said with a sly grin "See... all you had to do was ask me". Well we would have asked you, if you were ever here!!! We checked out immediately after that and found a room at a much better place recommended in the Lonely Planet guide.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Boomerang Guesthouse, and avoid Tom the owner, who lurks around the bus station wearing an Australian hat. And guess what, he's not Australian.
