The Tryp hotel perfectly served our goal which was to use it as a base and to get out and see and do as much as we could. The hotel is centrally located and about a 5-10 minute walk to the center of town. We would recommend sticking with public transportation if you plan on staying in Jerusalem. If you rent a car, you will definitely need to pay for parking at the hotel as parking spots are very hard to find. The staff was friendly and very responsive to any requests. The cleaning staff did a great job. The rooms are not very large but are functional. There is a small indoor lounge on the top floor along with a beautiful outdoor view from the roof. We did not eat at the hotel, so we cannot comment on the food.

Reception was great,
We were a little bit annoyed they wanted us to pre-check-in which is useless.
The room was a little too small
It was clean all over
Bathroom fuuly equiped
No issues
Towels too little, but that seems to be a trend.
Breatfast was surprisingly good
Variety, quantity and quality.
The roof top jacuzzi looks great
We didn't get to use it.
Theocation is great, many great places to eat not far.
Did not use hotel parking.

We spent a Shabbat in the hotel. The room and the bathroom were clean and well appointed. It was a bit small but since we were only there for one night over Shabbat it really didn't make any difference to us. The hotel has all the facilities that you need if you are shomer shabbat: a Shabbat elevator, a 'coffee room' where there was hot water urn and even some cookies. We spoke to the front desk about setting up the lights for Shabbat and that was no problem and of course we got an actual key for the room over Shabbat. We had breakfast on Shabbat morning before we went to shul. The breakfast was fresh there was a nice selection of items the room was clean and the staff were very helpful. All in all we were very happy and would definitely recommend the room to other frum people looking for a less pricey place to spend Shabbat.

The Bat Sheva is run by friendly staff, for the most part. However, it seems to operate under a different set of standards of cleanliness than such a Trip Advisor Travelers' Choice Award would imply. It is not filthy, but it is not cleaned regularly - not the rooms, the hallways, the reception area. This made me uneasy during my stay. However, the location is wonderful for walking everywhere. The rooms do have a lovely view of the city. Coffee and tea are available round the clock just off the lobby, but not in the rooms. Laundry service was available. The water pressure allowed for great showers. As others have noted, clean towels were not always supplied but were brought to the room on request. The staff kindly allowed us to use the lobby and adjacent room while awaiting late evening transport to the airport. The breakfast was okay. To be fair, I stayed at hotels in Tel Aviv and the Galilee that were lovely, so the experience here, for my last few days in Israel, was negative by contrast.

Honestly the rating would be lower had the room not been free because of my hotel points.

The front desk isn’t very friendly, but most people in the area are not so I am chalking that up to a cultural thing.

The room is nice and clean, but it is small. We brought our daughter and requested an extra bed. It was $80 per night to use this squeaky little cot that is reminiscent of prison.

Our tv didn’t work and we called daily and was told it would be fixed, but it never was.

They did a good job cleaning the room and keeping it stocked for us.

This hotel makes money off of you for basic services. Example, if you catch a shuttle from TLV to the hotel it’s 67NIS, but when you want to go to they airport the hotel will charge you 80NIS just for arranging the shuttle.

Maybe I’m used to more “freebies” or all inclusive types of hotels, but I felt like I was getting nickled and dimed to death.

Nothing screamed bad, but the little things added up to a blah experience.

I would use my hotel points again to stay here since it is so close to the old city, but would never consider paying their rates for this place.

Both rooms were extremely dirty with empty wrappers and tissues from previous guests and hair between the sheets. A rotting salad from a prior stay was found in the fridge. I had requested a room with two beds which the staff complied with (not without complaint) only to get a room with beds sized for a toddler. The room was so small as to not be able to open my suitcase in full. The thermostat did not work, the bathroom door did not close, and the rug was buckled (I tripped a few times but managed to avoid injury). I tried bringing these issues up with the hotel staff earlier in my stay, but there was often no one at the desk, and I had an agenda to take care of. When I finally did get to speak with someone the reply was dismissive and disrespectful. I would appreciate full point refund for this truly awful experience.

Pros: The room was spacious and clean, all the amenities worked properly. The view from our window was outstanding, especially at night. During check- in we were asked for vaccination sertificates.

Cons: The check-in process was longer then it should be, the room was ready only by 16:30 (instead of 15:00).
The breakfast was pretty basic.
Most of the staff didn't wear masks:(
Few days before our arrival we got multiple (about 10) email and sms messages from the hotel about early check in, all the information we entered we were asked again at the counter. Something in this process don't work properly and it should be fixed

This hotel is located in the city center of Jerusalem. If you ever had a chance to watch "Fawlty Towers", you will have the same experience here; rude staff (some refused to speak Hebrew ("only Arabic or English, please"). My bathroom was flooded ("what did you do? OK, Ok, we will repair it...") a cramped dining room where an avarage breakfast is served, with the possibility to sit "outside": many of the seat cushions were left outside overnight so they were damp/wet (something you find out only when you sit down....).

The room was comfortable and the customer service was good. Shabbat was respected with Shabbat elevator and non-electric keys. Shabbat candles were set up in the lobby for all the guests and a Shabbat urn was set up for hot drinks.

I used an app called easy co il. It's in Hebrew and English, but it shows you the restaurants near you. It's similar to Yelp, but I was able to find many places close by open during Shabbat. I used it all over when we were traveling. I'd also check with the hotel, there were families there all having dinner together on their hotel floor lobby.

Hi, The hotel is Kosher and indeed, our breakfasts are halavi. I hope this answers your question.

Most of our rooms have 2 beds, not 2 double beds though but 2 single. If you need a room with 2 separate beds, that's not a problem. However, we do not have pull out beds, so all the rooms are double at most.
