As with most boutique hotels, the setting and the atmosphere ate what make this hotel a great experience for a peaceful weekend. Located in the heart of Ein Kerem (or as Israelis pronounce, Ein Karem), an enchanted village with famous churches and tasteful restaurants. Less than 15 minutes from the center of Jerusalem, the village is easily accessible. The Alegra...

We found Alegra to be really enchanting. I'd say it is quite a romantic and dreamy place! The atmosphere hearkens to romance by citing various lovers of yore — each room has a little love story on a plaque outside it. Apparently the hotel itself has similar a "love legend" origin. We loved the old stone building and contrast to...

Our stay at Alegra Hotel was FANTASTIC! Everyone was wonderful and very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the huge jacuzzi tub in our bathroom. This is the perfect place to relax or have a romantic getaway. We were very impressed with the multi-course breakfast, served in the comfortable and very chic restaurant. We loved speaking to...

This place is amazing! The staff & crew are awesome, chill, super approachable and attentive. (Sarah, Amir & Shai are fantastic). The rooms and Zen gardens are beautiful and they thought of every, single detail. The dining room is super chique, and you get to talk to the chef and ask for whatever type of eggs you wish. This hotel...

This hotel doesn't give a damn, and doesn't know the meaning of service. My family and I booked three rooms for my son's upcoming bar mitzvah in August 2017. I explained I wanted to organize a brunch for 15-20 people. Zero interest in helping me plan the brunch (I live in the US), let alone suggestions on how to make...

Dear Mrs Ziv, I just received notice of your perceived poor reception upon inquiring about making a brunch at our our exquisite Alegra Boutique Hotel whose standards can not be surpassed! We are currently experiencing a fully booked season and are extremely busy. Since your event isn't until August, we felt that all your questions could easily be answered after...

In short - we left this hotel after an hour from getting the room. The ceiling was dripping tons of water from the room above our room and the hotel had no other room available. They called it "Force majeur" but the truth is it happened due to lack of maintenance of the building and bad service. Our weekend (celebrating...

We stayed in the 'poet' room which is in the main building - stunning! Loved the old archways and high ceilings and of course, the windows. We booked one night to celebrate a special occasion. Our chef, Yaron Vinkler, is an experienced well known chef, whose culinary choices are influenced by the local growths and the authentic kitchen of both Israel and Jerusalem. The wonderful breakfast includes homemade breads and focaccias that are baked in a hot stone oven called a "Tabun". Shakshuka - a traditional Israeli egg dish poached in a sauce of tomatoes, onions, peppers and herbs, a vegetables Salad, a variety of cheeses and more. The chef's dinner is a special experience with 6-7 courses, which all are cooked in front of the guests in our open kitchen. The courses are put together from fresh ingredients that are found in the local market. Hot and cold drinks are included as well. ... more   less
