Classy, professionally managed "insiders'" hotel - enjoyable three-night stay. Popular with diplomats, foreign correspondents, the NGO crowd, and visiting academics who can't quite afford the bohemian clubhouse down the hill, the American Colony Hotel. People watching on the terrace and lobby bar. My room had a lovely balcony with a view of central Jerusalem.. A little more expensive than some...

I came to work, so all facilities (wifi, printing, room service) were good for that. Meetings in both west and east Jerusalem but no problems for taxi to find the hotel, as in other hotels in East Jerusalem Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar food very good, and plentiful (often enough for two). Sunday lunch buffet extremely good value. A...

Stayed here for 4 nights on a pilgrimage. Lobby is nice. Food fresh and good but never served hot. Had to wait for coffee in the am. Lots of salads and veggies. Room nice size floor was always dusty. Bathroom shower head sprays all over. There is no curtain just a glass partition that does not stop the water from...

The Ambassador is a little tired, a little charmless, and little understaffed. The rooms are large and clean, but pretty basic. It is located near the old city, and so it is popular with large bus tours to the Holy Land. Several of our group had problems with things broken in the room -- particularly the safes. But maintenance was...

Drew the short straw for rooms. We were here for 3 nights. Ground floor room. View of the hotels dumping ground for old stuff.Shower door fell off when sliding it open or closed. Room hadn't been updated since it was built. I believe the rooms above ground floor are better. Waiting staff are friendly.

My wife and I have stayed three times over six years. The recent (since our last stay) remodeling is very tasteful and makes the hotel feel more modern now. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are very professional, attend to whatever you need, yet at the same time are never overbearing. Instead, the staff has a...

The Ambassador hotel has lovely public areas with good views of the city. Our room was basic but comfortable. The restaurant was great! Breakfast was a generous buffet, but for dinner there's a menu. The hummus hor d'ouevre plates are enough for a meal and they are delicious. They know how to grill fish, too! This was the best hotel...

Stayed twice in the hotel for a period of five nights. The hotel is within easy walking distance (15 minutes) of the Old City's "Damascus Gate". (Ask the front desk about the shortcut via stairs.) The bus to Ramallah passes right in front of the hotel. Good restaurants nearby. Nice views from my two rooms; accommodating service (early morning coffee)...
