This wonderful hotel ticks all the boxes. Great location, full of historical charm, fabulous rooms, beautiful gardens, great staff and good food. If you are coming to Jerusalem, don't think of staying anywhere else. I wish I was here for longer than two nights.

Located between 5-10 minute walk from the Damascus Gate - the American Colony Hotel is like a hidden gem. Quiet neighborhood. Safe to walk to and from the Old city of Jerusalem. Great breakfast spread. We did not eat dinner at the hotel. Nice and large rooms with plenty of light and a turn down service. Very helpful staff -... More

We were at the hotel for five nights. The service was impeccable and the rooms were very comfortable. We ran out of time to explore all of the pictures and artifacts describing the hotel's important history in the life of Jerusalem. The meals, especially breakfast, were excellent and served in either a more formal indoor setting or a beautiful patio.... More

This hotel in East Jerusalem is spectacular. All the public areas are decorated beautifully and the courtyard restaurant is a delight. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. 10 minute walk to the old city and spotlessly clean. This is the place to stay if visiting Jerusalem.

This hotel is an absolute gem! It is located a very short walk from the Damascus gate, but still a bit off from the main busy roads. The property is magnificent, with hidden nooks and crannies, excellent restaurants, very nice pool, good gym, etc. We had a slightly upgraded room, which was very nice, and we were very sad to... ....according to St Bernard of Morlaix and in the warm winter sun-shine it truly felt that way from my roof-top terrace on the 4th floor of this delightful, golden hotel where the romantic cooing of the several turtle-doves that come to drink at the water spilt from watering the plants mingled with the call of the muezzin. Centred round a... More

The hotel is wonderful, staff are fantastic and the rooms are a joy to be in. It feels more homely than a hotel, has so much character and is situated centrally but remains a great, tranquil place to relax in. And the food is superb! I shall be heading back there again.... soon.....!

This hotel doesn't feel like a hotel but instead like an estate and you're in the guest house. So beautiful from the lobby that feels like a parlor to the gardens with too many types of fauna to count. I've traveled the world and am very particular about my hotels, and I have to say this is one of the... More

Every time I stay here I feel like I am stepping into a Humphrey Bogart movie. This place is from another era. The rooms are large and very comfortable, the staff accompanying and the property an oasis a short walk from Jerusalem's old city. The property is the antithesis of a chain and the unique atmosphere snoozes the soul and... More
