Such a peaceful and tranquil place, away from the busyness of the market in the old city. Location is perfect. Near the new city and the old city. Rooms are pleasant and clean. The breakfast is great! Will definitely recommend this place to any traveler.

I was recommended to come by a friend but I have to say that the reservation/booking system left a bit to desired….half way through our stay I got an email saying that they had no rooms available Lovely, kind people in the main and a very convenient place to stay. Super quiet prayer garden and friendly cafe. Great service and sermon on a Wednesday morning.

Staffed with friendly folk, this architecturally beautiful facility is one of the Old City’s hidden gems. Rooms have high ceilings, giving a wonderful feeling of space. Daily cleaning is to a high standard. Beds are comfortable and the daily rate includes breakfast, during which Staff take turns to share an uplifting Morning Devotional. There is a lot to do within walking distance, such as the Garden Tomb of Christ and Ha Kotel (Western Wall). The coffee shop attached to the Guest House is an excellent place from which to see the vibrant and varied local population pass by, especially if you sit at a street table in the sunshine savouring one of the choice hot drinks available, including local specialities. At the end of a day’s sightseeing locally or further afield, the Guest House is a peaceful haven to return to - and you never know just what friends you might meet or make there. Highly recommended.

As we planned our first trip to Jerusalem on our own (vs with a guided tour group) I came across Christ Church, the oldest Protestant church in the Middle East built in 1894 and known as the “Jewish Protestant Church”. I was happy to discover they had a Guest House, Coffee House (Restaurant) a museum, gift shop & garden courtyard. They offer a variety of Accomodations that they accurately describe as: “comfortable, clean and peaceful accomodations for individuals and groups over the short and medium terms, with a friendly Christian atmosphere in the old city of Jerusalem.” Cost for a couple with a queen bed with private bath & breakfast for 4-days was 2420 Shekels or $672.00 US or $168 per night. For comparison the Leonardo Plaza down the street is $213/night with breakfast included. Think of it as a very nice, cloistered adult hostel😇 inside the old city. BE AWARE: If you haven’t driven in Jerusalem (I had not!) finding your way the Jaffa Gate is a challenge. You drive up a ramp just in front of a structure known as David’s Tower, in order to enter the old city walls (there is no actual gate) and once inside you drive straight ahead a distance of about city block before it curves to the right ... when you turn right look directly ahead for the “Christ Church & Guest House” sign on the building & an iron Gate at the entrance. It is directly opposite (across from) the structure known as DAVID’S TOWER & Museum. One thing that was good is that they has a limited number of parking spaces that cost $30/day that is safely (I hope 😬) tucked into the rear of their compound ... but be sure you have a small car... our Nissan rental barely made it through the narrow passage to their parking area. The compound is secured by a Gate & you must reserve your space ahead of time & send them your auto license plates to be let in. Note that their showers must be fed by solar heated water—- think “cold showers are invigorating” 👍🏻.

Wow! The queue for the coffee shop stretched out the door both times I wanted a coffee and food. But there is an option if you just want food. Go through the cafe and up to the restaurant. They have a full meal, much as you can eat for 60 shekels or delicious soup and bread for 25. And I went back for seconds for free. Buy a meal ticket at the guest house reception and skip the queue. The soup is filling and nutritious.

I visited Christ Church Coffeehouse with my family several times during my stay in Jerusalem. It is a remarkable space just across the street from Jaffa gate. The generously-sized desserts are delicious (especially the carrot cake, chocolate cake, and scones), as are the drinks. I recommend the chai latte and the sahlab (a regional drinkable milk pudding with nuts and cinnamon and coconut). The staff - especially Elias, who served us several times - are friendly and hospitable: I felt like a valued guest, not just a customer. The clientele seemed to be both locals and tourists, and it was a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend as a place to take a break while wandering the Old City. I also recommend the bookstore - they have good postcards and souvenirs.

Stumbled upon this beautiful little cafe while exploring old city in Jerusalem. Very nice service. Ordered coffee and had a sit. Went there again the next day and bought some croissant too, which was also very good! Also tried some local tea drink with cinnamon, do recommend! Also they have soy and almond milk, so it is great for vegans as well! :)

While touring different churches at Christmas time, we went to visit the Anglican Christ Church, one of the oldest "modern" (1830's) churches within the walls of the Old City. It is truly a worthwhile stop on any tour of the Old City. Its little museum holds a number of large models of Jerusalem structures/neighborhoods made in the 1870's by Conrad Schick. The church itself is a peaceful place which invites one to relax. There is a garden in which one can rest and order a meal. Inside is a cavernous eatery with a street-side entrance. There is also a guest house. All within high walls shutting out the street noise beyond.

Didn't stay in the Guest House but we had lunch here 3 times. The selection was good, the prices were good, the food was good and the service was good. What more could you ask for? There is also a nice outside seating area at the back overlooking the Church. Located near the Jaffa Gate opposite the entrance to the Tower of David. Recommended!
