The Hotel has a really Old city feel. It's the best way to experience old Jerusalem, of course house still have modern amenities, cable, ac, hot water, and the best part is its only walking distance to the Damascus gate, it's such a great feeling when you can just walk home and rest in your bed, then go back again....

I first must complement the wonderful hotel staff -- every person we encountered was kind, helpful, and accommodating. Definitely the nicest staff of anywhere we stayed in Israel during our trip. I am so thankful in particular for their help in booking us a VERY early morning taxi (like 3am!). At their offer, they called our room very early to...

The Jerusalem Hotel's restaurant -- I could never find a separate name -- provides a small menu and bar and if you can locate it (sort of on a corner and about 5 minutes outside of Damascus Gate) you may enjoy the pseudo garden environment. Food is average to very good with the Greek Salad my favorite. I've had it...

Staff very nice. We were out all evening in February. 50 degrees Fahrenheit, so we were cold upon return at about 9 pm. Room very cold, no heat. Staff did then turn on the central hot water heating system for us ( helpful, but took over an hour to partly heat the room,)( who knew we had to ask in...

We just absolutly loved Jerusalem Hotel. The staff was helpful and attentive, I have rarely felt so welcomed and taken care of. Excellent food (we had breakfast and dinner) and great location if you, like us, is looking for direct access to all the sights and the old city. I fell in love with this warm and friendly hotel and...

This is my favorite hotel to stay at in East Jerusalem and close to the major sites in that area including the Damascus Gate(less than 5 minute walk), Garden of Gethsemane(across the street) and the Tomb of Shimon HaTzadik. The Hotel used to be an Ottoman Mansion(great stone, ottoman architecture with high ceilings throughout), then a govt office, then a...
