I agree with many of the positive review that have been written before me. The Lutheran Guesthouse is superb. It is clean, elegant and wonderfully located in the Old City - close enough to the Jaffa gate to walk to it within minutes, which means you have easy access to both the Old City and the New City as well... If you're willing to embrace the historical simplicity & modesty of this special location you'll feel very at home. To arrive at this guest house you must walk cobbled paths and stairs through old Jerusalem. Heavy luggage or wheels can prove burdensome (I won't make any analogies here but you get the picture). The guest house itself has marvelous views... More

The Lutheran is located in a quiet part of the old city and is relatively easy to find. Rooms are simple like a college dorm but airconditioned, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful giving you plenty of space to relax and soak up the experience. Breakfast was basic but included good coffee! Considering the cost it represents pretty... More

Stayed at the Lutheran Guesthouse for a week in July. It was a nice space, very clean and calm in the middle of the hectic old town. The staff was sometimes very friendly and sometimes not. For how expensive it was I was a little underwhelmed. The jury is still out on whether or not I would come back.

In the heart of the old city, its a great location to get everywhere. There is a lovely terrace where we had cocktails. Our room was simple, almost like a college dorm but more than enough space, and very clean. It is also quiety and the neighboring merchants are all charming.

We stayed there 3 nights I guess, 2 adults and our 7-year-old son. It's a clean, quiet, safe place in the very center of the Old City, 5 minutes walk from Kotel. It has it's own garden, library, internet connection and cosy rooms with thick walls protecting against hot climate. The staff is very friendly. I definitely recommend!!!

We really enjoyed St Marks. The rooms are very clean and include private bath. They are not big American-style rooms but are more than adequate for a trip where you are spending your day out sight-seeing and not sitting in a room. The rooftop patio and sunked garden courtyard were very relaxing for an evening beverage. St Marks is literally... More

This place was a gorgeous stone building in the heart of the old city. It's a bit hard to find and you'll have to walk with your luggage as no cars are allowed in the old city. Ask the taxi or minibus to drop you off at Jaffa gate. We were dropped off at Damascus Gate and that was a... More

I spent seven nights here and loved everything about it. The location is fantastic if your focus is the Old City - you really are right in the centre of it. My room looked out over the Dome of the Rock. The church of the Holy Sepulchre is perhaps a 1 minute walk (2 if you're dawdling looking at shops),... More

We stayed with a friend for 3 nights at the Lutheran Guest house (2 rooms). Arrived via "sherut" (shared taxi) from Tel Aviv airport. Short walk from Jaffa Gate down David Street (one of main shopping streets) to St. Marks Street. Rooms are comfortable, clean, but basic. Location can't be beat for exploring old town. Great view from guest house's... More
