To begin, hotel is perfectly situated not far from the city center of Jerusalem. Staff really nice ( special mention to Ata, Sami, Abu Khaled and the managers son who was there daily checking if everything is ok).
Room with a double bed, mini fridge, mini tv, water heater and most importantly with AC!
Bathtub pipes were leaking I called Sami and got it changed in 24 hours.

Breakfast is typical Palestinian with Humous Eggs Sausage and White cheese. Bread sometimes isn’t tasty, I think the chef needs to place bed far from direct sun light, maybe place the eggs and hot food on the table by the coffee and put the bread on the other one and close the curtains.

You can eat outside or inside, we had lunch one day and it was really delicious lasagne, not as good as French lol but really tasty.

Is the hotel perfect? No not at all like all restaurants.

I would clean the carpets in the hallways, clean the sports room ( it would take less than 3 hours per floor) just vacuum clean it.

Once again thanks to the staff ( Ata Sami Laith and Abu Khaled, others didn’t even say hi like Alaa)
Let me know if you have any questions

My 5th time staying at the National Hotel Jerusalem, and each time it exceeded my expectations. Even though this hotel has struggled during the Covid-19 period, they have taken the quiet times to refurbish rooms, keep the hotel looking like a 5-star establishment and last but not least, build a brand new Coffee Cafe within the premises.

The service given by the staff at this hotel is second to none; they cannot do enough for you whatever the request and whatever the time of day.

The restaurant has a wide range of cuisines ordered by scanning a QR code and viewing their digital menu.

The hotel is a 5 min walk to the Damascus gate; literally, you could not drive there any quicker.

I will 100% be revisiting this hotel in December 2022

Thanks to Laith and his family for yet again a fantastic stay.

Typical of many hotels, the lobby of this hotel looks alot smarter than the rooms. Rooms were disappointing, tiny and basic. No tea/coffee facility. The shower in the bathroom was extremely small. Services at reception were less than efficient. I will be lenient with criticism as this hotel is in occupied east Jerusalem under Israeli military occupation. Food was better than expected but the same menu was repeated every day. Decent variety of choices. Deserts were lovely. Wifi worked without any problems. The roof top restaurant had a good vibe and although expensive, it was in line with the pricing of other restaurants in the area. The walk to Musjid Aqsa is about 15-20 minutes, approximately 1 .2km.

this hotel scammed me out of over a $1000 dollars via booking.com
this is how they operate - you book months ahead with an excellent rate for peak period on booking.com .they confirm your booking but prior to arrival, they send you a message booking cancelled as credit card rejected when they never even run your card. So as I did on Christmas night there were no rooms for a family of 6 , yet you could still book these rooms on booking.com so I rebooked 2 rooms for 3 nights and they now process the amount on credit card. They only provided 1 four sleeper room but charged the full rate for 2 rooms and promised a refund. They now say I verbally agreed to this amount for 1 room.
Please stay away and be careful when booking with booking.com

When I arrived to the lobby I was greeted and assisted by a nice front office desk agent. I was given a room on the second floor. When I walked into the room I started to notice several issues. When I walked into the bathroom the tub was not cleaned at all it had visible soap scum on each side, the shower tiles had visible black mold and there was brown mold as well. I had to think twice to go in there to take a shower. The shower space is extremely tiny and uncomfortable, the bathroom had a pungent odor similar to cat urine. When I walked into the bedroom I noticed the ceiling had black spots. On that same night there was a huge cockroach which I ended up stepping on it. As I was going through the room I noticed there is no iron nor an ironing board, no refrigerator, the bathroom does not has an electrical outlet to plug anything. Did I mention I went to use the bathroom at two in the morning and there was a big amount of tiny roaches running everywhere. I stayed for more than a week so the front desk agent suggested for housekeeping service. So she contacted them as I was waiting in my room the housekeeper knocks on the door looked at me frustrated and did not cleaned my room, she said sorry I can’t clean your room today is very busy. She did not replaced my towels nor refreshed my bed with clean sheets. I was struck by her behavior again it is not my fault she is busy let alone I paid to stay. The hotel staff is cordial but housekeeping and maintenance need to get it together and rectify these issues before another guest runs into it. Any incoming guest should not have to deal with the issues I went through, with that being said use your own discretion after reading my not so well experience.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Each morning breakfast was delicious with a lovely view of the Mount of Olives. Also had one of my best dinners in Israel at their restaurant. The hotel location was also great, just a 5 minute walk from the Damascus Gate . I enjoyed being in the Palesintian neighborhood as everyone was very friendly and there were lots of good food spots nearby. Would love to return to the City of Peace and stay at this hotel!

My review is not about the hotel amenities as i did not reach the hotel. However i was stopped by Israeli Immigration and was not allowed to visit Jerusalem. I have informed the property on the day and via email their reservations team agreed for 50% refund. However even after putting that in writing they have not done the refund and its now 7 months. I have given up as its only £400 approx. however i wanted to write my experience about the Management team so people should be very careful about their funding to this entity. Reservations Team agreed refund and then following to that Mr Omar from Finance team came back with almost fully new reply. I have shared with him written confirmation of the agreed refund and since then he has not responded. Total pathetic , non professional with no ethics of Service industry and most importantly not trust worthy as they can say something in writing and then can simply look away from their own decisions . I am adding evidence to my claim just so that people don't mistrust what I have said. Most funny part is that i was even asked to send my bank details for refund which never happened in the end.

As one enters the reception, one thinks that this is a nice hotel. But when you enter the room, you will be shocked by the lack of upkeep. We requested a double bed but were given 2 single beds which when you try to join together you find that the mattress is embedded in the bed and there is a 3 inch gap between both beds! The room is spacious but the furniture is very old and broken. the curtains were with burn marks and torn. The headboard lights don't work, the switches on the left side of the single bed don't work. The head shower could not be disconnected when having a shower, thus wetting your hair in the process. Our air conditioner was leaking and when we informed the reception, they sent someone to see to the problem but all they did was remove the towel that we placed on the floor to dry up the water and placed a dry one from our bathroom! This happened during all the 5 days that we stayed there. On a good note, the breakfast is good and the restaurant staff were nice, unlike reception. If unfortunatelt you booked into this hotel and you're given room 303, just don't accept ! At 5 in the morning there is continous rumbling on the ceiling as the room is under the restaurant. The same goes till 11pm!

I loved the front desk staff at this hotel - they were very friendly and helpful when I experienced some issues locally.
Check in in a large group was cumbersome but again very good natured.
I checked in and out over the course of a week and some rooms are really so much better than others! It seems some have been updated recently and some haven't. Yummy breakfast buffet, although wouldn't necessarily eat in the restaurant at dinnertime.
All in all, pretty good.

This in my experience, it’s a rare and special hotel where they treat their guests as individual human beings and where new request is treated as too difficult.
We stayed for five nights and the staff were universally helpful and friendly.
The hotel is brilliantly situated close to the old town, but with lots of shops and restaurants around.
The rooms are showing their age a bit, but I charming and have lots of character. We would certainly come here again one morning we bumped into the owner who was serving coffee in the restaurant he was eager to hear about our experience and even made me a coffee.

I used gettransfer website. You can prepay by Credit card and choose the type of car you want. the website gives you many bids...you choose the one you want. is cheaper than hotel arranging it from my experience. travel on Sabbath ( Saturday) is more expensive good luck

I used my credit card and purchased it on gettransfer website. They will give you multiple prices, based on the date, day of week (Sabbath is higher) and type of car you want. The driver was on time and no tip is required. You cannot use cash on website. This way you get the best exchange rate.
