Do not stay in this hotel. We were received by the most rude and unprofessional person at the registration desk. His name was Tamor. He didn’t even greet us and asked immediately for a credit card. He was more focused on getting us out of his desk than being a proper host. This is arguably the worst hotel I have ever stayed. We pre-paid for breakfast and the entire time we were here there was no breakfast or any other meals (room service was shut down). They used the excuse that it was Shabbat, even though the entire staff of the hotel confirmed to us they were not Jewish. They even kept the kitchen closed on Sunday morning, when Shabbat ended because they needed to “clean it for 24 hours.” I find it offensive to use a the Shabbat as an excuse to not perform basic services like room service, or even providing us with glassware for our room. We asked for water and we’re transferred multiple times for a simple bottle of water. It took them more than one hour to get us a bottle. We had the bad luck of Tamor being the person to coordinate getting us water. He basically washed his hands off this problem and told us to pay $22 for a bottle. When we went to check out. Tamor (again) stayed sitting behind the desk, and asked us if we wanted to talk to manager. When he noticed the conversation was getting heated, suddenly “there was no manager.” So he lied to us in our face. It’s a shame that a hotel chain has people like this as the face or point of contact of the hotel. He didn’t even want to give us a receipt for our stay. Don’t stay here. This city has so many hotels, and this was the wrong choice. Side note, the carpets and chairs in the hotel and the rooms had stains all over.

Dear Miguel, Thank you for talking the time to write this review. We also appreciate negative reviews especially, when we can learn from them how to improve. With your permission, we would like to address your review. Since we are a kosher hotel, like most hotels in Israel, breakfast on Shabbat is heated, so there are no omelets, etc. Also in terms of the food in the room service, the dishes will include cold things such as salads and sandwiches that do not require cooking. Regarding the breakfast on the day of your departure, it was clarified by the hotel staff two days before that the breakfast will be minimal because we are making preparations for Passover, which require special cleaning and replacement of all food products, again like every kosher hotel in Israel. As soon as you arrived at the reception desk and raised your voice, everyone around realized that it was unacceptable to you, the hotel manager spoke to you and credited you for the breakfast (a small thing you forgot to mention, it's understandable mistakes happen sometimes), And in addition, you even smiled and thanked him. Regarding the bottles of water you asked for, you are undoubtedly right, you should have received them much faster, but at the same time you were not charged for them at all because of the delay (probably once again you accidentally forgot to mention this), but you chose to write that you were charged a high price of $22, when A bottle of water at the hotel costs 17NIS which is a little less than $5. We wish you all the best, and hope you enjoy your next visit to Israel, and of course we would be happy to host you again so that we can give you a better experience

Clean and well-kept with staff who is friendly and accommodating, the Herbert Samuel Hotel is centrally located. The old city is within walking distance. It is also surrounded by various shops, cafes, and restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine. Our room is spacious and, situated on the ninth floor, has a lovely view of the skyline. Although I prefer my bed softer, that's just what it is a personal preference. The air conditioner is reliable if not a bit noisy. I like that they have a Nespresso machine in the room also so I can enjoy an espresso upon waking up. Overall an enjoyable stay.

I recently stayed at Herbert Samuel Hotel for two nights during my visit to Jerusalem. The location was perfect....in the heart of the pedestrian section of town filled with small shops, restaurants, and lots of activity. The tram was running right outside which makes getting to other locations easy. The hotel is sleek, modern and very clean --- and even with all the outside activity, quiet. Although the rooms are rather on the smaller side, they are well furnished along with a nice bathroom - and great shower. The breakfast buffet was expansive with lots of choices. I certainly will consider staying here again on a return visit.

Such a wonderful place to stay in Jerusalem and the best part is the bar. Mostafa, one of the nicest bartenders we’ve had the honor of meeting, prepared special cocktails for us all. Always innovating and with the best energy, a true gentlemen who excels in his profession. Thank you Mostafa for such great hospitality. You are amazing!

Very good service. Clean. Great location only one problem..taxis cannot get to front door. There was a barrier in street that was supposed to be lifted for access but on arrival and departure it did not open for our taxi and we had to lug our suitcases halfway up the street. Breakfast on 11th floor was delicious..very attentive staff. Swimming pool was indoors which was great for the cold winter month of February but closed tooearly. Same foe the sauna. Would have preferred evening hours.
