Setai Tel Aviv - Simply impeccable. Once we booked our trip we connected with the concierge Elizabeth. Elizabeth was prompt warm and knowledgeable helping us plan our very short trip. We wanted to get the most out of our 4 days in Israel. When we arrived at the hotel she greeted us at the door like an old friend eager to make us comfortable and happy. She went above and beyond. After a long journey we arrived too early to check in. She wanted to make sure we had eaten breakfast. (To me like a family member would do after a journey) The staff took our belongings and she brought us to the restaurant. We were then introduced to Ziad who I believe is the restaurant manager. He seated us and again we felt like we were visiting with family and with friends. The service, the food, and staff was impeccable. Ziad wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. Each morning we saw him and it was the same - Warm comfortable and completely taken care of. Naomi and Elizabeth explained the overview of the hotel. So much history in this gorgeous restored hotel. Elizabeth went over our tours with us and brought us to our room. Our room had stunning views of the Mediterranean. Perfectly clean and modern. We had all the amenities we needed. The hotel is situated in such a perfect area. On the beach and by all the great shops and markets. The other concierge (I didn’t get his name) was also great in giving us walking directions to the best restaurants and shopping. Elizabeth set us up with a tour guide. His name was Eli and he went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of our trip. Answering all our questions, moving at our speed to cover as much ground as possible. With Eli you could tell he loves his job and was knowledgeable about the sites we wanted to visit. I couldn’t recommend him any higher he was outstanding. Elizabeth also packed us extra towels and water for our Dead Sea trip just Incase we needed anything extra. When we were leaving breakfast Ziad asked us where we were touring that day and he came back with a surprise. He wanted to make sure we had a hat. He gifted my husband and I cute Setai hats. These are the small things in my opinion that sets 5 star hotels apart. When you have traveled all over the world it’s those fine details. You can tell the staff from reception, bell, house keeping and room service care about their guests and the history of the hotel. We had the best time in Tel Aviv and I really think the Hotel and staff made it absolutely perfect. We can’t wait to return here and we’d stay at another Setai any time.…
We booked through AMEX Platinum card Fine Hotels and Resorts and arrived to the hotel on September 2022 for 2 nights. This hotel can not and shell not classified as fine hotel and should be removed from AMEX program. during the first night we found out that the AC stopped working in the middle of the night.... in the Tel Aviv heat and humidity it was impossible to sleep, we called front desk and they sent someone to "fix it" the problem was not solved. we figured that if there is "no movement" for 30 minuets the electricity will shut down. In the 2nd night we had Repeatable AC issues, and could not sleep again. Now with 2 night without sleeping we decided to speak with the hotel general manager named Yaniv Adivi that confronted me with house keeping / engineering director I felt very uncomfortable, It felt like I've been accused of lying and offered them to go to the room and check it out. While the GM refused to go the engineering manager did go and saw the issues. the GM offered us 1/2 of the 2nd night charges refund equal to $300 out of the $1,200 plus tax and fees we've paid. I refused to take it. I will take nothing else then 100% refund. I would like to highlight the following issues as well. 1) High level of MOLD, 2) Missing / broken glass tile inside the pool. 3) Open hot wires 4) Room has sensors that shut the electricity during the night and day…
This was our first stop during a trip around Israel. Very modern Hotel built in an old prison with a lot of character. Good location in Jaffa. Lots of interesting places nearby. Very good Concierge called Christine who organised a fascinating trip to Caesarea,Akka and Haifa. Hard to find fault with this Hotel; pool area a bit small but you don’t go there for the pool!
Incredible Ocean View, Beautiful Room, Great Location, OUTSTANDING breakfast and service. We booked through AMEX which put us on a concierge floor. Highly recommend! This was by far the best breakfast I have EVER had and the BEST service we had in Israel. The restaurant manager saw I was eating Knaffeh so he came over and asked how I liked it. I told him how much I enjoyed it and he offered to bring me some from his home the next day with goat cheese. His kindness was so heartfelt and was a great way to conclude our wonderful time in Israel. In the afternoon the concierge floor had extensive buffet and cocktails which was also a special treat. Great pool overlooking the ocean. We didn’t have time to use the spa or gym but we had a look and it was beautiful. Shower had floor to ceiling window which was strange as it overlooked the busy boardwalk Front desk staff went out of their way to help us get taxis and directions. We will definitely return!…
Beautiful hotel that fits in perfectly in its location near the old city in Jaffa, right next to the beach. Service was a bit variable. Some of the team were amazing. For example, Ziad the maitre d was extremely helpful and a pleasure to interact with. Joseph at the front desk added a lot to our experience. However, there were other times when it was hard to find a waiter to refill morning coffee. Rooms are comfortable. Well appointed and lovely bathroom with full baths and rainforest showers. Meeting rooms are in the basement and are depressing. Food was good but not great.
Absolute rip-off! We booked a massage with breakfast and were five minutes late for the appointment. We walked into the hotel and were not properly greeted. We asked where the spa area was as we had an appointment. We were sent downstairs. The lady at the front desk told us that we were not entitled to breakfast because we were 5 minutes late and needed a massage right away. After I spoke with her in Hebrew and said to her that I do not understand what the behavior of such a luxury hotel should. She said she makes an exception we may still have breakfast after the massage. We were constantly pushed to hurry. I asked her how much it would cost us if we claimed the pool. She said 300 Shekel. The pool was actually included in the offer. What she did not mention. The conclusion is that tourists should be careful. We appreciate services of upscale hotel but this is hotel + breakfast is definitely not a recommendation. We were fooled and lied to! …
The Setai is a beautiful hotel set in a former Ottoman prison, just on the edge of the old Jaffa port and overlooking the sea. Much of old Jaffa has been restored and is filled with shops, galleries and restaurants, allowing for lovely walks. It's certainly a more interesting area than central Tel Aviv but expect to pay $10-$15 each way to get to downtown by taxi. The Setai has a top-notch staff that aims to please and a fine spa that offers great massages. There's a pool and a sun deck, as well as an executive floor that (if you qualify) offers free food and wine. The beach is right next door. The breakfast spread is astonishing and worth adding to the room charge. We opted for a city view room, and our hearts initially sank we realized that meant we overlooked a mosque. We were worried about the 5:30 am call for prayer but it turned out the Iman was so gentle and had such a lovely voice that my wife slept through it the first night and I slept through it the second night. But it might be worth getting an ocean view room if you don't want to take your chances. One of the best restaurants in Israel, George and John, is less than a ten-minute walk away and there are many lively options available in the area around the Jaffa flea market, just a couple minutes walk. Because the hotel is in a historic building, it has an unusually small entrance, with steps, for such a luxury hotel. But the porters will gladly handle your bags.…
We had an excellent two night stay at the Setai Tel Aviv. It's located near the heart of Jaffa, but the hotel is a destination in itself. We had an excellent room, the breakfast was outstanding, and the hotel pool was unique. I highly recommend this hotel. It's absolutely excellent!
Great location and friendly helpful staff. Food exceptional and the pool overlooking the beach is fantastic. Room spacious and overall facilities meet all expectations. The architecture and design fit perfectly i to the Jaffa setting.
