We spent a night at the hotel. We checked in at 1PM. Check in was slow, but courteous. Parking is USD20 a day. We were allocated Jaffa Suite 2231. The corridor leading to our suite is totally worn with crumbling walls and rugged carpets. The small suite is configured as a long corridor, leading to a small living room with desk, chair, sofa, TV, minibar and coffee machine. Sliding doors lead to a tiny bedroom with 2 low-quality spring mattresses beds, another TV, a big safe and closet. The large bathroom consists of a bath tub , separate shower, single sink and a toilet. The toiletries are the generic “-417”, which are locally made (but are pretty average). The view from our suite was towards Jaffa and the sea, but also to the unattractive nearby hotel. The A/C in the room is bad. It completely stopped to work in the middle of the night and we had to turn it back on, having been woken up in sweat. The room is not lightproof nor is soundproof. The hotel offers a decent gym and an unheated pool (which is useless this time of year). Breakfast at the Jaffa Court restaurant was nice, with a decent array of local cuisine, but a rather bad table service. We had two 50-minute massages. While the hotel’s spa catalog offers an endless array of treatments, we were told only “Fusion” is available – anytime and no other treatment is possible, ever. I asked my masseuse, Olga, for a light massage and to avoid the back and neck. She totally ignored my request and gave me a firm Swedish massage. I therefore kept my USD20 tip. The star of the stay was, again, the Club Lounge on the 24th floor. Oleg and Martina made sure we are always comfortable and gave us great service. The lounge offers all day salads, sandwiches, a soup, hot and cold drinks with sweeping views of the sea (now spoiled but the massive construction going on in front of the hotel). The evening buffet includes 3 hot dishes and some alcoholic drinks (an honor bar). Bottom line – despite several shortcomings and a rather underwhelming experience, this is a solid 4-star Intercontinental.

Do not stay here unless you want to stay in a sweat lodge. Room AC will not cool properly. When asked they said nothing you can do. Central system. Cannot lower Reserved an upscale room but checking out in the am. Will not stay in a room that costs a fortune but you cannot sleep.

Dear Susan, Thank you for taking your time to write us feedback about your recent experience. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience during the stay but I understand our Guest Relations team were able to resolve the issue with a new room on a higher floor and even better view! To take away the stresses this inconvenience caused you enjoyed a relaxing massage at our spa, what a treat! We hope that we were able to revive ourselves and you left feeling positively comforted by the end of your stay. We value your comments and welcome the opportunity for you to return once again and enjoy all the facilities we have to offer. Regards, David Intercontinental Team

Big lobby with an easy check in. My first room was a corner room. We had a balcony on the 8th floor and an awesome view of the ocean. Although I was told I could keep my room for my entire stay, once my tour started my room was changed apparently because the 8th floor needed work. I liked the charm of the rooms. The doors are heavy and solid. The bathroom is large and the counter space was spacious. Our balcony was worth the extra money. We watched the beautiful Tel Aviv sunset. There’s a refrigerator, hot water pot an iron and an iron/ironing board. The breakfast had a good selection. On Shabbat the hot foods disappear and are replaced by a Kosher breakfast. Still a good selection.

Dear Dahlia8, Thank you for your feedback about your stay, We take feedback very seriously to help make the necessary improvements in our facilities and services to create the perfect tailor made stay for you. I'm so joyed to hear how luxurious and satisfying you found the comfort of our rooms. What a beautiful advantage to sit each evening and enjoy the bliss of the Tel Aviv sunset from your very own balcony. Our hotel prides itself on being Kosher recognised and approved under the Tel Aviv Rabinut, meaning our food services change in respecting the Sabbath laws. Needless to say our award winning breakfast puts out for quite a spread! I wish to welcome you back on your next visit and hope it will be with us here at the David! Best, David Intercontinental Team

We have regularly stayed here over the years until covid so we couldn't wait to get back there 3 years later. We love where it is, the pool and the breakfast. So when we got there all looked the same. But the rooms looked very tired with a cheap looking sofa which was really some foam covered with a cheap grey material stuck to the wall. Bits of touch up paint and just looking generally dreary. Our room was cleaned daily but you couldnt guarantee when and the replenishment of towels and soap etc again was hit and miss. This was the club room on the 32nd floor. The club room staff are lovely but the food during the day was the same most days..cheese or cheese, biscuits, some bread, lettuce, whole fruit, a few mini desserts. Breakfast was good as they had a smaller version from the buffet downstairs. The service at the buffet was very hit and miss and they had a pancake chef who never seemed to be around. Its very busy and to be honest was easier to have our breakfast in the club room. The pool had no service as you had to go to the pool cafe, get the menu and order drinks and food, which was very average and cold. Also the sunbeds by the pool were the most uncomfortable thing at this hotel, they were mesh and very hard. You get your towels on your way out and sort your beds out yourself, no real help.for this either. So our favourite place has lost us as clients, we won't be going back there again. It feels like they just can't be bothered.

We stayed at the Intercontinental in October and we were with a tour group. The lobby is very nice and the pool area was large and a nice place to sit. The location is great for walking around Tel Aviv. Our room could have been updated more, but was clean and we had a nice view of the sea. Our first night of our tour, we had a delicious meal in the private room that was set aside for us. I don't love fish, but ate the Grouper, and it was excellent. Breakfast was very good every day with lots of choices. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would return if we went to Tel Aviv again. It was an easy walk to so many things.

The staff is straight out rude!! Saying stuff like “lucky you remember your room number because if not I wouldn’t let you in “ To “to where are you going” Came back to a room that had not been cleaned and a manager that instead of fixing the problem and making us feel better was blaming us and accusing us of being in the wrong and would not even look at me while I spoke! I will not be returning to this hotel and I will definitely not recommend the hotel to anyone I know! I would recommend the staff to learn how to treat people even if they think they are not guests in the hotel instead of judging us because we didn’t look like there average guest I have been in hotels that have cost a lot cheaper that they treat their guests the same no matter what!

The David is a bit older and retains a lot of the class of mid-century gems. It’s location across a street from the sea was wonderful. The staff is really superb: attentive, very helpful and project a sincere joy that you are a guest. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. We were provided excellent advise on dining options outside the hotel which allowed us experience a local’s night out. One oddity is the closing hour of the lovely pool: 6 p.m.

Great accommodations, with a comfortable seating area and beautiful bath. Breakfast was the best I had in Israel over two weeks with great service! This hotel has a great location near the Carmel ark et, neve zedak and old Jafo. The only thing missing is easy beach access, but a 5 minute walk resolves that. I look forward to going back to this facility.

Terrible experience with staff that simply do not care. There are many attributes that make up a hotel guest experience, some of them are warm greetings, comfort and professional all round hospitality. The David Intercontinental Tel Aviv has failed on so many levels, our experience is an embarrassment to myself and our guests, shame on this hotel. The staff are Ill trained, they could not care less and outfight rude, The management should be ashamed let alone the owners of this hotel, how dare this hotel conduct itself this way.
