Great hotel. Great service. Food was great too. I visited with 3 girls 9 years old for the weekend and we had a great stay.. ignore bad review here. Its a grrat hotel. We felt wellcome. Thanks Dan Tel Aviv. It the best hotel in Tel Aviv. Very high standard. We will come again very soon. Tomer
Was worried about staying here after reading bad reviews on trip advisor The hotel is a classic hotel and decor a bit tired hence all the negative reviews below Look beyond that and you have a hotel in a great position , staff are extremely friendly , service is good. Pool area has sauna and jacuzzi and also indoor pool as well as outdoor area Breakfast was amazing but I thing this is standard in Israel Failed my bed test as empty bottle of water found under there but housekeeping quickly rectified once I mentioned
It is very distressing to me to feel obligated to write a highly critical review of what used to be the flagship hotel of the Dan group with an international reputation for excellence. I booked a weekend stay at the Dan reservation call centre for two interconnecting roooms on a full board basis, i.e. evening dinner, breakfast and lunch. I phoned the hotel the day before we were due to come to make a few enquiries including asking the time of the buffet lunch on Saturday. I was told that there would not be a buffet lunch. However, the website offered it and my booking confirmation showed it and would charge for it. I find it incomprehensible that the call centre could advertise and accept a booking for something that the hotel is not prepared to provide. Surely when the hotel saw the booking on their computer they should immediately have contacted me to explain that lunch was not available and that they would amend the booking to half board. This did not happen .Only after speaking to the manager of the reservation centre was my booking amended. It should not have been necessary for me to make a big fuss to sort this out. It should never have happened. It makes me wonder about the competence of the management and integrity of the hotel if something like this coukd be allowed to happen. I should also mention that the hotel tried to suggest that they would offer me free of charge a dairy a la carte lunch instead of the luxurious buffet lunch instead of a refund for the buffet which would be worth double to treble. As if what I have described was not bad enough, it was compounded by the following. We had booked two rooms on a low floor which the hotel acknowledged. However, when we checked in they did not want to give us the low floor which was guaranteed. They kept us waiting while the room was being inspected and eventually we were told that one of the rooms needed maintenance. I asked why that had not been dealt with before we arrived. I had previously been told that one of the rooms was not occupied on the previous night so they should have been inspected/repaired the previous day. There was no answer to this. I insisted on being given an upgrade on the low floor as originally promised but only after I had made a big fuss. These two rooms were very good yet nevertheless we had to complain because the TV did not work. The maintenance man came and fixed it. This illustrates how incompetent the inspection of the room must have been. It is a great pity that such a prestigious hotel with a previously exceptional reputation which provides excellent meals and service can be let down by very poor management. What compounds the difficulties is the lack of good grace in sorting out these problems. If readers of this report think that this an isolated incident; it is not. On my previous stay I had reported on poor management on that occasion as well.…
Stayed there many years ago and I have to say that this is the exact same hotel. Rooms definitely need an update ! Staff is. I’ve and the breakfast is exceptional and so is the location. Frankly for the price charged they should spend on the rooms. This was a great hotel in the 90’s not so much today
Of the worst customer service i have experienced from a hotel of this level. I still think back as to how the front office reception staff speak to their customers and i scratch my head in disbelief. Hotel is very well located on the beach front of tel aviv with great views but thats about all it has going for it. Its a dated hotel with alot of work needed to bring it up to an acceptable level. Taking a shower in the bathtub was a nightmare as all the water sprays out onto the bathroom floor. Acceptable breakfast, terrible coffee and water bottles that don't open without the intervention of strong abled men. No, I wont be back. There are much better options out there for this price tag.
Hotel is good A bit old school but other than that, good. Very close to the beach Good food Good service Parking (not part of the hotel) a bit pricy There is kids club Warm indoor pool Nice sun balcony Rooms are good Smart TV’s in the room Room service is good
I genuinely don’t understand the bad reviews. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach/Hayarkon. We are a family of 6 staying in interconnecting rooms, the rooms are clean and well decorated, everything works well in the room, the staff have been so helpful with my baby who has food allergies, and Maya in guest services went above and beyond to get the kitchen to make food for my baby. Issues we had with the tv were sorted out immediately and we were called to check everything was resolved. They have a lovely little kids club, indoor and outdoor pools and their Shabbat dinner was also great. The indoor pool is also a big bonus this time of year. The staff have all been kind and helpful. The lobby could probably be modernised a bit and it would be great to see more options on the in room dining menu as it’s somewhat limited, but apart from that, highly recommended!…
A nice and pleasant hotel, staff doing their best to be welcoming in an excellent location, moments from Tel Aviv beach. Breakfast is good, less chaotic than many Israeli hotels. There is a good range of foods available. We had some special requests for the rooms and the hotel made sure they were all well taken care of. We would happily stay here again.
We loved our stay at the Dan Tel Aviv. The hotel is beautiful, clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. The breakfasts were incredible, the bed was comfortable and we had complimentary wine, socks and nuts. The water pressure was great too. No clue about the negative reviews. We loved it.
I just finished a 9 day stay at this hotel in Jerusalem. I can’t say enough about the level of excellent service by a wonderful staff and manager. The hotel was clean, food was plentiful and fresh. The front desk was extremely helpful, particularly Naer. Also a special shout out to Omar in the dining room. Housekeeping was courteous and did a great job. My only complaint is that my hairdryer was broken but the front decks sent up another. Thank you all for making this stay in Jerusalem extra special!
