I stayed at the Ibis as part of an Exoticca tour. I had 3 nights at the start of my trip, and 1 at the end. All on a half board basis. The first room I had was nice, admittedly a little tired, but clean and comfortable. The room I had last was not as nice, the basin smelled really bad and the shower leaked. Breakfast was good, very strong coffee, nice juice, an omelette station alongside typical continental options, as well as hot food. Dinner was ok, lovely salads and bread each day. There is a bar which sells alcohol (albeit expensive), and a gift shop. It is opposite a mall and supermarket, and there are restaurants nearby. The staff were lovely.

The Ibis Amman hotel itself is good (particularly the staff) but our visit was tarnished by the pure greed of their resident Retaj taxi service. If you go Downtown to explore the Citadel/Amphitheatre, DO NOT get ripped off/exploited by using the Retaj taxi service in the hotel lobby as they charged us 20 JOD, whereas the official ‘metered’ yellow taxi to return was less than 4 JOD. The distance is 10km and the journey took us 10 mins, since it was on a Friday (Jordanian weekend) and the roads were very quiet. In comparison, their price for transfers to Q.A. Airport (32km distance/40 minutes) is 30 JOD. When we queried their exorbitant charge with them, they didn’t want to know!

Stayed here for two nights in May 2023. Pros: 1) The place is very close to a mall and you can find plenty of eating option there. There are several restaurants nearby. 2) The wifi was free with good speed and connectivity. 3) The tariff is reasonable. 4) The room and bathrooms were clean. 5) Bathroom had all modern amenities. 6) The front desk staff spoke good English. 7) There is parking available in the basement. 8) The place is quite at night and sleep quality was good. 9) The hotel helps in making travel arrangements and there are plenty of taxis available right outside. 10) The breakfast spread was decent. And the breakfast is served early 6:30 am. Cons: 1) Like all Ibis hotels, the room and bathrooms were small. 2) It is 30 minutes drive to the city centre. 3) The hotel does not have a laundry facility.

Staff are delightful however hotel needs a good overhaul. Carpets are threadbare and the room cleaners need to be trained - not once was the sink and shower cleaned during my four night stay. If I had not have been with an Exoticca tour I would have checked out and stayed elsewhere. Not like my previous Ibis experience.

The rooms are bit tired but but beds were clean and comfortable and everything in room worked. Always plenty of hot water and good shower. Plenty of choice on breakfast buffet although I would prefer not to have onions with my beef bacon and with my mushrooms for breakfast. Plenty of cold meat, cheese, cereal fruit etc. Fresh omelettes were available most days. Pastries did run out sometimes and were not replenished For evening meals there was always a good choice of salads, usually one chicken main course plus one other such as lamb or fish in a sauce plus vegetables, potatoes and rice. Might get a bit boring if you were there longer than a few days. The restaurant is practical with no real atmosphere. There is a bar on ground floor which is more comfortable but smoking is allowed so not always a pleasant place to sit. Hotel is a long way from the historic sights but taxis were plentiful right outside the hotel and very cheap, only 3-4 JD for a trip to the Citadel, much cheaper than an organised trip. Suggest start your sightseeing at the Citadel and then take the walk down all the steps to the Amphitheatre and get a taxi back from there. Take a business card from the hotel before you go to show the taxi driver which hotel you need to get back to. Small shopping mall across the road from the hotel but not much else in the vicinity.

I had a good stay at Ibis Amman. Room is up to Ibis standard, comfy bed, great room view and staff were very nice. There is a mall just across the street with food court and a good supermarket. I was there during Ramadan. There is a mini shop close to the reception and tour desk as well. I didn’t take any from the hotel as I found it too expensive and made my own itinerary with a private driver.

This hotel was one of the dirtiest hotels that I have stayed in. Mould in the shower, soap scum still in the soap dish, the shower didn’t drain, dirty furniture, filthy carpet, terrible breakfast and the list goes on. We stayed there as part of the tour and on the last night, we left and booked a hotel elsewhere.

The good points Staff are friendly and helpful. We were allowed a late check out at 1pm with no charge. There is a bar Shower Water is hot Bottled water provided in room Not so good points Hotel rooms are very tired and in need of a refurbishment Most rooms have connecting doors so a noisy guest next door can be quite intrusive Evening buffet is very repetitive and only average. Same for breakfast buffet but items would regularly run out and take a long time to replenish. Only a bath towel provided per person, no hand towel. We stayed as part of a tour group with Exoticca. If booking yourself it’s very cheap but be aware of what you are getting. Great Turkish bath close by (Alf Layla wa Layla) and supermarket across the road.
