It looks like you live in Tennessee. We live in Indiana and are US citizens. In February 2018 (last month) we flew into Jordan from Oman. When we arrived at the airport, we got our visas which only took a few minutes and changed currency. When we were near the exit of the airport building, a man asked if we needed a taxi. I gave him the name of the hotel and asked him how much. He replied $20 US. I said "no" because I knew the hotel was nearby. We walked outside the building where there were many taxis and were quoted $5 US. When arriving at the hotel the taxi has to go through a check point and after getting out of the taxi, we had to go through security (bags on the x-ray belt) before getting into the lobby of the hotel. We were there for a couple of days doing sight seeing. We left the hotel and returned twice. We did NOT have to have another visa, but do have to do the two points of security each time. If you are only there a short time, the hotel may be okay, and may be standard for Jordan, but it is not a hotel I would recommend because it needs a facelift. Our room needed painting, the furniture needs updating and the bottom sheet would not stay on the bed. Our visa was not a problem and when we left there, we flew back to the US by way of Germany. I hope this is helpful.
