Great location. Close to many restaurants & bars. Offers several restaurants in-house. Iranian, Italian, Japanese, Thai, international buffet & fine dining. Rooms were “ok”. Service…individual employees mean well & are trying hard; however they are not well trained. The pool area has a great water park for kids.
Bad experience. First impression was good, but got worse each day. Room cleaning service is very unregulated. The bathroom is the worst part. Some days you get a bath towel for the floor, then the day after you don’t get one for 3 days and then it’s suddenly back. One day i had 2 towels, some day only 1. One day they took to clean towel away and only left the dirty one in the room. The shower is leaking. There is dust everywhere, even on furniture which should be cleaned each day (in pictures). The carpet in the room feels dirty while walking on barefoot. They don’t take away empty bottles and trash which is not in the trashcan. We are with a group of multiple people, all booked the same room, some people got a room with a bath, others didn’t. To not only say bad things, the breakfast is good. The staff in the restaurant is friendly and helpful. For the price/night the breakfast has many options.…
Checked in w/a group ( about 30 persons ) on15-18 Dec 2021. Hotel is located in a peaceful, yet accessible area, close to major Malls & other areas of interest in Seef District. Rooms are spacious with all needed facilities. Staff is , friendly and outgoing. Staff managed all requests professionally. I strongly recommend it for mid to large families, or groups.
This hotel is full of disappointment one after another, the staff starting from the reception some of them have bad attitude and others are expected, I will have to agree with that because they are following one of the worse front office managers that I have ever met. Room services are ignored for long times, and the environment is very toxic with the staff. I have to admit the security guys and maintenance team are friendly and polite, and the issues of damages and issues through out your stay won't stop.
I regret choosing this place for my husband's stay. I blame the wrong assessment on booking.com They are very bad More than you can imagine They forced my husband to pay for full board after he was already paid for breakfast included on booking. Com And they said you have to pay or go out and you will not take your reservation money back because it is no refund So because of Corona if you don't pay for full board go sleep at street The check in takes more than 1 hour What I know that when you reserve online no body can ask you to pay more if you don't ask for more services But they forced him for services that he didn't ask And forced him to pay and they took advantage that he was in a country other than his And they prevented my husband from gitting out from room for 5 days although he is immuned against Corona And till now they didn't return the breakfast fees I don't know how they have a good rate on booking They don't worth it Even the manager speaking so badly Like he dealing with a person who ask him to give him his money You have to try satisfying the customer especially when the wrong is from the hotel not from him Unqualified staff No customer respect at all I will not stop telling on all social media about what they did by proofs about how they far from hospitality They are very taken advantage of because of Corona and I would not advise anyone to stay in a place with this poor level of service and respect for customers Shame on them…
Since the implementation of the 10 day Quarantine in Bahrain, I was forced to stay 10 days in an NHRA certified hotel and I happened to unfortunately select Gulf Court Hotel. On their website, the price per room is stated at 25 BHD/per night for a "Premier King Room" but since it's quarantine, I have been told that I will have to pay 20 BHD per night for the food package in order to be eligible for the stay. Upon my arrival, turns out that my room comes with a 10 cm wide window unlike the spacious wall sized window depicted on their website. After a few words with the receptionist they were kind enough to move me to an Executive Suite for no extra charge. The Executive Suite did have a window and was a lot more spacious. Unfortunately, the entire room smelled of sweat whether it was the sofa, the pillows or the wardrobe itself as if the room hasn't been cleaned in a year. When I tried to take a shower, the stream was barely there and the temperature was impossible to regulate. I have called the front desk manager and he did send a team to literally rip out the old shower and install a new one. Sadly, the temperature was still impossible to regulate so each time I took a shower, I ended up suffering from discomfort instead of relaxing. And this was supposedly a "Suite". The desk and the chair were seemingly designed for people who are 150cm tall as I had terrible back pain after sitting there for 1 hour. Next comes the food for which I paid 20 BHD a night, TWENTY! The first couple of times that i had my meals I felt something was wrong but did not raise an issue. Then I noticed that every meal feels like it is coming from a road side cafeteria and not a hotel. I called the manager every single day but he was never available to answer my call and ultimately never mustered the courage to speak with me. On the 5th day, one of the kitchen staff told me that my meal package is actually 9 BHD per day. If my math is correct, it means that the hotel is simply stealing my 11 BHD. The kitchen staff were kind enough to accommodate my requests and make a few changes whenever they could and within their allocated budget and I am very thankful for that. They tried their best to make up for the incompetency of their managers who are either posting wrong prices on their website or are stealing people's money. When I pay 20 BHD per night for food, I am expecting to receive the food of adequate quality and not some street cafeteria meals. I stopped eating lunches on the second day. Finally, I can't not mention on particular room service staff member who has made my stay as uncomfortable as she could. Every time I would request something, she would act as if I asked to repaint the ceiling. When I asked for water, she came to the room, rang the bell 8 times and then shoved the bottles in my face telling me that I should be calling front desks for such requests. Almost forgot, for a so called "Quarantine" hotel where everything must be sterile and clean, the management has instructed the staff to give tea bags outside of their packaging. So they would clean the washroom, wash the floor, take out the garbage and then with those very same dirty hands grab tea bags and expect the guests to make tea with all these GERMS in the time of a PANDEMIC. This is a serious health code violation. Writing this review made me relive all the horrible memories such as the stench of the room, the food quality and lack of hygiene. This hotel does not deserve even a 3 star rating and I strongly advise you to stay anywhere but here.…
I took this hotel based on the advise of a travel agent. He mentioned good things about the property and its location with free High speed WiFi. The hotel boasts clean and luxurious place, but it is opposite. The so called King Bed is broken and the bath room is very dated. The shower closet is very small and the showerhead is corroded with water flowing in all directions. The furniture is dated with marks on the couch and broken lamp shade. The location of this hotel is good and also its in a quiet neighborhood The WiFi is painfully slow. They offer free breakfast, but the choice is very limited with no taste. I took this hotel, as I have to spend 14 days in Bahrain in order to cross into Saudi Arabia. It's ok if are trying to spend a night but not a hotel for business travelers requiring a restful night and be ready to work next morning. The hotel does not even provide a socket to charge a laptop equipped with a US style three pin plugs. I had to go to a local store (Lu LU) to purchase an adapter in order to charge my laptop. You can find much better deals within the close proximity of this hotel, unless you are fooled by a travel agents. This hotel is close to a 2.5 * rating. Even the lobby and its conditions is enough to access the condition of this property. I tried to see the General Manger of this hotel but no luck. In essence they don't care to listen to you. BE CAREFULL WITH THIS PROPERTY, as a luxurious place to stay. Even the safe deposit box is not working (out of order).…
The hotel is old so inside the room I felt little bit not comfortable about cleanliness , It seems like not clean enough, the breakfast less than average rate, I like only that in the room they have coffee machine so it made me surprise for such level hotel
Location is good in terms of distance to city centre mall, seef mall and Dana mall. However, it's in a quite area. Rooms are extremely spacious and reasonably clean. The property is quite big and grand in ambience. Breakfast is good. They have a swimming pool on the rooftop. Plenty of parking space. Usually offers a good price and hence overall great value for money.
I stayed at the Gulf Court while I attended a conference at the Bahrain International Conference & Exhibition Centre over the road. In this regard its location is excellent, being just a five minute walk away. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfast good and plentiful and my room was large, very comfortable and very clean. All for a very low price. However, I won’t stay again as apart from a large group of Japanese students I was the only guest I saw there not from the GCC and this caused some problems when I used the pool. Although Bahrain is very tolerant, and I had always been able to sunbathe in my western style costume, and swim at the pool in other, large chain establishments in Bahrain, I had problems at the Gulf Court. When one guest raised his voice at me and tried to steer me away from the pool, the hotel was very reactive to support me, sending security up immediately and the pool staff stayed with me. However, on seeing me at the pool other guests would leave straight away; maybe this is a hotel they use to avoid us westerners? Whatever the case, and despite the hotel’s best efforts, it was an uncomfortable experience that can be avoided by using a large, international chain hotel.…
