This really was the most enjoyable and luxurious holiday destination resort that we've ever been to, and there is nothing we can fault about this hotel!
We stayed for 9 nights over the school half term break in February, and although this was one of their busiest times, the hotel atmosphere felt incredibly relaxed throughout, and plenty of space and even plenty of sunbeds available too, without having to be out at the crack of dawn.

We've stayed many times in 5 star hotels across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and RAK, we've also previously stayed at Rixos the Palm, but this one at Saadiyat Island really was premium in terms of the accommodation, food and alcohol offering. From the moment you step into the lobby, this hotel is opulent beyond belief, and smells so good too!

Having arrived at 8am, we were welcomed to use all of the facilities straight away, and although check-in wasn't until 15:00, our room was made ready earlier and they WhatsApp you as soon as it is to let you know.

The all inclusive offering here really is ultra, with all the most premium brands of alcohol served and their own cocktail mixologist who is ready to greet you at lunch and dinner. The bar staff and rollerskating waiters around the pool are just amazing, and won't let you carry your own drinks even if you try to save them a job, they are amazing! We were so impressed by the food too, both in the buffet and the a-la-carte restaurants, so much choice, and so beautifully presented!

Special mentions must go to 'Remy' who served us most days at the People's Lunch Bar Restaurant near to the pool, this was such a lovely setting overlooking the beach, and the staff were so attentive. 'Miggy' was our regular breakfast waiter and looked after us so well, always going the extra mile to welcome our little boy to the table too. Our housekeeper 'Sherla' did such a super job making our room look so clean and comfortable during our stay, most days we'd return to find wonderful towel-animal creations, and on the last day, he really knew how to please a 5yr old by leaving him a hand crafted Roblox figure head, again made out of towels, but it was absolutely brilliant!

The lobby staff were always so friendly and happy to help, and there is the most fantastic (& very posh looking) coffee lounge where the service is just sublime, with the best coffee and teas served and all included within the UAI package.

We only booked the entry level Garden Room for our stay, but it was the perfect size for a family of three with a great pull-out sofa bed for our child, immaculately presented, exquisitely decorated, and had a lovely view over the fountains.

Lastly, I must mention how pleased we were to see how well the cats were looked after by Rixos too. Not only are they well fed, they have little house stations with shade from the sun dotted around, and a very amusing sign too that says "the cats are well fed, don't fall for their lies" :)

We loved this trip so much, that we couldn't wait long to book again, so are going back in June and can't wait! Thank you to all at Rixos Saadiyat Island who made our stay so perfect!

Arrived late on Saturday reception were very efficient, room was bright and well decorated, sea and pool view was slightly obscured by trees but pleasant all the same. Bed was huge and comfortable, bathroom large and well payed out.

Breakfast buffet was large and plentiful many tables with an adults only section if desired. Speciality restaurant all available booked through the concierge. They all specialised in a multi course taster menu style choice was wide and food and service excellent. The decor and location of the Orient Restaurant a real experience and treat. The Greek Restaurant specialising in seafood which we attended on the 11th Sept, after our mwal they had prepared a beautiful chocolate cake and sang happy birthday joined in by the other diners a real treat.

The decor throughout is fantastic and opulent throughout, pools and outside amenities very good, especially if you have children. The pool appears climate controlled and was cool against the heat of the day which was pleasant to sit in with a mojito.

The beach was amazing beautiful white sand running in to a turquoise sea, shallow calm and like a bath. Service on the beach was brilliant and Ashraf and Rey real stars in keeping our water bucket full and our glasses charged, polite, personable and professional, thanks lads.

Taxis to the Galleria, Golf and Grand Mosque were cheap and the whole buzz of Abu Dhabi much nicer in our opinion, not having to queue to enter the shops, restaurants etc. in the Galleria was lovely.

Super holiday and likely to be back next year.

We liked the hotel, but there are several disadvantages:
1. Apart from people singing in the evenings, there is no more entertainment.
2. People sit and sleep at the reception, along the beach, which they cannot check in early or, on the contrary, extend their rooms. This is the first Rixos with such a problem. They refer to full occupancy, but in fact at 12 you are kicked out of the room, although check-in is only at 15.00. 3 hours for cleaning...hmm...not even extended by an hour.
That is, after 12 you are nothing to them....
Upon check-in (we arrived at 10), the girl checked us in and said wait for an SMS…. It’s good that my husband approached someone else after 1 and she immediately found us a free room... the SMS arrived only at 4 o’clock - your room is ready...
3. There is no toilet on the beach….
4. Place shampoo and gels by the bathtub; it is impossible to run on the tiles between the bathtub and shower and pour tightly attached shampoos onto your hand in the shower...

But I don’t agree with the rest of the reviews here: they feed you slaughter fish and seafood all the time, salmon and avocado in the morning. You can ask for anything and they will cook it for you (there is buckwheat, semolina oatmeal, soups for children).
Elite alcohol, decent champagne and wine.
The sea and beach are gorgeous, the service staff, waiters and cleaners are just great! There is a pillow menu.
Warm pool, only in the water park there is cold water for children...
I would especially like to say thank you to your architects and designers - it was a delight for my eyes, I have never admired the interior and details in decoration as much as yours. very beautiful, I want to take pictures of every wall and chandelier ❤️
If it were cheaper, we would come to you all the time :)

We traveled as a family with three people (child 8J) and have already stayed 6 times in Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island in one of the neighboring hotels, but only half board.
The hotel complex is spacious but not too large, very clean and appealing. The rooms are sufficiently large and well equipped. The main oil is much too small for the size of the hotel. The slide pool (only suitable for children up to about 1.60m) as well as the small wave pool are quite far from the main pool and are hardly used. You can't really sit at the pool bar and have to wait regularly (up to 5min) until you are served, which is primarily due to the insufficient staff situation at the pool bar (only a bartender). During our stay, mainly Russians and English were guests of the hotel, some of whose alcohol consumption knew no limits. In addition, the pool bar smelled extremely of urine over two days. However, the quality of the drinks is very good, even if they were served in plastic glasses for safety. The drinks service (on rollerblades) in the sunbathing area of the pool is fast and all in all works very well. The loungers and pads are excellent. There are also some fatboys who were also very cozy. Unfortunately, you have to "reserve" your loungers by 8 a.m. at the latest; whoever comes later has to take what is left, if anything is left. Bath towels can be taken as much as you need, which sometimes led to bottlenecks for other guests. The beach is magnificent and the beach bar a great way to drink something cool; however, there is also a drinks service on the beach. Unless you have dinner in a themed restaurant, you use the main restaurant, where breakfast can also be taken. The ambience is quite sobering, as the room is quite dark and the volume resembles a station hall. The quality of the food is fine, however we expected significantly more. Very disappointing was the always the same dinner buffet, while the food in the three themed restaurants we visited (Seafood, Asia, Italy) was really great. Likewise, the a'la cart lunch in the pool restaurant is recommended, even if it was mainly lunch snacks (burgers, small schnitzels, hot dogs, chilli con carne, spaghetti and various salads). The gym is manageable but never crowded. The devices are modern and leave nothing to be desired. The service in all areas of the hotel is very dedicated to meeting all the wishes of guests. Likewise, the hotel management was very courteous and professional to make our stay more enjoyable.

The hotel was nice enough however for a 5 star hotel we viewed this as no more than a 4 star hotel.
My wife experienced a male member of staff entering the room unannounced when she was in the bathroom and had to be asked to leave. The hotel did not deal with this situation well as it happened more than once.
Children ran around the hotel bar and lobby in the evening so there needs to be a separate space so that adults can have a relaxing evening too. Let’s face it, we paid for it! We stayed with our three children who were aged 10, 12, and 15 at the time and were not allowed to roam free around the lobby and bar areas because we are aware of other guests and conscientious people unlike some of our mutual guests.
The pool bar had children playing around and splashing pool water at people and into drinks which is a cardinal sin where I come from, so again there needs to be a separate area for young children whilst they’re not at an age to be conscientious about people around them and their parents aren’t with them or perhaps don’t know where they are!
Reserving sun beds early is necessary because although the hotel has signs up stating that this is not allowed, everyone seems to do it, so if you don’t join in on this ridiculous holiday ritual you basically miss out on a bed for the day or in a spot you desire. Put it this way, you would need to place towels or anything that resembles ’we were here first’ between 6:30am and 07:30am, which isn’t what I want to get out of what is supposed to be a relaxing break.
We found that the food choices repeated over and over and therefore a lack of variation. Great quality but more themed evenings would be great. The best restaurant is the Italian however, booking a table there is near impossible which can be said for the other specialty restaurants too. It was impossible to book each one during our one week stay.
The beach is beautiful and the sea is devine, it’s just a shame the hotel disappointed us. We couldn’t have stayed any longer than a week and we would look to stay elsewhere next time we visit Abu Dhabi.

Dear Guest robintQ3637CR, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. I am truly sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, especially regarding your experience with our staff and the challenges with the shared areas. This is certainly not the standard of service we strive to deliver, and we take your concerns very seriously. We understand the importance of having spaces where adults can enjoy a relaxing environment, and we will review our offerings to ensure there is a balance for both families and guests seeking a more tranquil experience. Regarding the sunbed reservations, we are constantly working to enforce the hotel’s policy to ensure fairness for all guests. For the situation you encountered with a staff member entering your room unannounced, I apologize sincerely. This should never have occurred, and we will investigate the matter further to ensure this does not happen again. Our Assistant Front Office Manager, Nathalia Reyes, would be happy to personally assist you with any concerns or further details at nathalia.reyes@rixos.com. Your feedback about the food variation and specialty restaurant bookings has been noted, and we will work to improve in these areas. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future to offer a better experience. Best regards, Burcak Orak General Manager

We spent 4 nights in a non-beach hotel, then moved to the Rixos for 4 nights. The lobby is beautiful; I loved the blue and white colour scheme. Outside the lobby is a lovely outside lounging space with sunken areas and pools, which was always very peaceful. Travelling as an older couple, we often sat here to get away from the noise of the pool area (the noise came from constantly pounding music). Although a family hotel, at this time of year it was mainly just pre-school children and they were never unruly as some other reviews suggest. Staying for 4 nights, we were lucky in that we were entitled to 3 a-la-carte restaurant meals. After the first night at the buffet restaurant we were really glad of this, as we were unimpressed by the buffet dining experience. Nothing wrong with the food - there was the usual great choice and quality of any good buffet. But the seating area had no ambience whatsoever, with drab colours and harsh lighting, in contrast to the rest of the hotel. Our breakfasts and lunches from the buffet were lovely, as we chose an outside table. The wine served was perfectly nice and we do know about wine, so I disagree with any criticisms here. It was also poured generously by the friendly and attentive staff. Our 3 restaurant meals were all very different in style and surroundings, and we loved all 3 - Turkish, Asian and Greek. Be sure to book as soon as you have checked in. The bedroom is stylish - we were upgraded to a suite but I think we lost a proper sea-view because of this and our balcony wall was solid. The walk along corridors to the lobby was long, but we did find a quick way to outside. Also, the lift to theTurkish restaurant is hard to find so it's worth doing that earlier in the day. The lounge bar is a pleasant space, which we used for a pre-dinner drink. Drinks can also be served in the lovely outdoor area which I mentioned before. The beach is beautiful and you can take a long walk along the seashore in either direction. Although The Cultural Quarter is visible, you cannot walk there - take a taxi. The Louvre is worth a visit, even for the building itself. All in all we really liked the hotel, although in school holiday time I think it would be a bit noisy for couples without children.

Dear Gilleandaisy, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful lobby, peaceful outdoor spaces, and our lovely beach. We're also thrilled you appreciated the variety and quality of our a-la-carte restaurants – Turkish, Asian, and Greek dining experiences are certainly some of our highlights! We truly value your comments regarding the buffet restaurant, and we're sorry to hear that the ambiance didn't meet your expectations. Your feedback will help us look into how we can improve the dining atmosphere to align more closely with the rest of the hotel’s aesthetic. It’s also great to hear you enjoyed the lounge bar and had the opportunity to explore the Cultural Quarter and the Louvre during your stay. We completely understand that, as a couple, the hotel could feel a bit lively during school holidays, and we appreciate you highlighting this for future guests. Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and we hope to welcome you back again soon for another relaxing stay! Warm regards, Burcak Orak, General Manager

Price-performance ratio is absolutely not right here.

Positive:
Adult only area for food and beach chairs.
Beautiful sea and sandy beach
Cellar even comes to the beach chair

Negative:
We have been here for 2 days now, the rooms still haven't been cleaned. We don't even have toilet paper anymore. Mini bar didn't work. The fridge was only changed after the 2nd complaint. There is a huge buffet, but the food tastes so-so... We were at the Fairmont the Palm in Dubai a few days ago, and the food and service were great. We have a room with direct access to the pool - but you can't enjoy this because 1. You are only allowed in from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 2. You are watched very intrusively by a lifeguard 3. There is a camera pointed at you. The entrance to the pool is via a squeaky ladder (which isn't bad in principle, but it just doesn't match the price here). You can't sleep in here either. The carpet in front of the rooms is vacuumed at 7:45. If you have the room next to the breakfast buffet, you can hear the music from there very clearly from 7:00.

Having travelled so many times to UAE since 1985 we now class this excellent hotel as one of the best in the world on a par with our stay at the Burj Al Arab when it first opened.

The quality of the Al La Carte restaurants, breakfast, lunch and evening buffet are just amazing. An adult only area is also available in the main restaurant.

We stayed in a premium room with pool access. This made our holiday too it was wonderful to return to our room every afternoon to sit on our terrace to swim and read. There are adult areas in the gardens and beach to be able to relax on the sun loungers. The pool and beach staff you call using a buzzer who roller skate to you to serve you a cool box with requested chilled drinks or cocktails etc.

The amazing beach is how Dubai used to be in the 1980s a long stretch of pure white sand with crystal blue water not carved up by hotel buildings and the palm. Whilst swimming we saw dolphins jumping out of the water in the distance.

I want to give special thanks to Rusty who looked after us on arrival and welcomed us to the Rixos.
The most wonderful staff member Susma Magar who was our waitress who we sought out for her to serve us as she was so warm welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to meet her. Making us the best pots of English tea which we loved.
Special thanks also to Mike for his dedication in cleaning our room to perfection every day. Always smiling and saying hello when we were back and forth to our room.

We have cancelled next years holiday to Muscat to return back to this hotel as we loved it so much. Thank you Mr Burcak Orak to you and your staff we look forward to visiting again.

Response from Burcak Orak, General Manager at Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island
Responded 10 Oct 2024
Dear Guest P7230VZkarenr, Thank you so much for your incredible review and for considering Rixos Premium Saadiyat one of the best hotels in the world! It’s truly an honor to be compared with your stay at the Burj Al Arab, and we are delighted that you enjoyed every aspect of your time with us. I'm glad to hear that you loved the variety and quality of our à la carte restaurants, as well as the adult-only areas, and that your premium room with pool access made your holiday extra special. The pristine beach and the sight of dolphins must have been a memorable experience, and I’m pleased that you found the service from our roller-skating staff so enjoyable. Special thanks for recognizing Rusty, Susma Magar, and Mike for their outstanding service. It’s always rewarding to hear that our team made such a positive impact on your stay. I will make sure to pass along your kind words to them. We are honored that you’ve chosen to return to us next year instead of Muscat, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable holiday! Best regards, Burcak Orak

My husband and I vacationed at Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in November 2023, I want to say that this is the worst hotel, which brought nothing except negative emotions, irritation and disappointment.
1. Reception, administrators, sports staff - they smile and cannot solve anything. They put us in a room that didn’t have the best location, asked to change - they offered us an even worse room (without a balcony) and said that there were no other options. The issue was not resolved. I asked to exchange the cola in the mine bar for glass (I do this all the time in other hotels - there are no problems with it) - they said it was not provided by the service - only for money. At the same time, the same cola is available in the lounge for free (come to the lounge and drink there).
2. The cuisine is monotonous, not tasty, without alternatives. I asked to make Benedict - it was not provided. Avocado and salmon are only available on request from under the counter, and only if you know where to ask. At the same time, they give it to you very carefully so that others don’t see it.
3. Tennis court - when we booked time on the court, the girl was very busy with herself, not only did she get her name wrong, she didn’t even look at the room number and it was already occupied by other clients. The lack of attentiveness of the staff to the client and his requests is at the highest level.
4. Beach - for the first time I saw a beach with dried grass growing on it. The beach is dirty, the sunbeds are dirty, you have to go get a towel yourself, the call buttons don't work so you do everything yourself. If you want a drink, go to the bar, if you need a towel, go get it yourself.
5. A la carte restaurants - don’t waste your time on this, you won’t get any pleasure because... The chefs literally don't know how to cook.
6. Entertainment - musical groups with a dull, monotonous repertoire.
Overall, I can say that this hotel is a maximum of 3. It doesn’t look like the Maldives AT ALL (even the sand). You will not get peace and relaxation there.
