The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr receives consistent accolades for its service, with guests often commending the attentive and professional staff that contribute to a memorable experience. The hotel's amenities, including the exclusive Gold Lounge and luxurious Gold Level, alongside its pristine beach and expansive pool, are also highly praised. While the spotless rooms and well-maintained facilities are celebrated for their cleanliness, some travelers suggest there is room for improvement.
The hotel's prime location is popular for its proximity to beaches and cultural sites, and although the rooms are spacious and offer stunning views, a few guests mention noise and outdated decor. The value proposition at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr draws mixed reactions; room upgrades and packages are appreciated, but the costs of extras and inconsistent food quality have faced criticism. Nonetheless, the overall atmosphere of the hotel is frequently described as sophisticated and welcoming.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Fairmont. This is a really good hotel and the staff are really the reason for its success. Each one of them from reception, waiting staff, pool staff (particularly Benjamin), restaurant/bar, housekeeping - all of them were faultless. Although we arrived in the morning we were able to access our room more or less straight away; we upgraded to a 7th floor Fairmont Gold room which came with various advantages. One of these advantages is without a doubt all the staff on the 7th floor who go out of their way to make your stay as luxurious as possible. I can't remember all their names sadly but shout out to Stephen, Song and lovely Alfam. If you can upgrade to the 7th floor rooms then it's well worth it.
We had two breakfasts in the main buffet restaurant but in all honesty we preferred the 7th floor breakfasts which was perfectly acceptable in terms of choice. The afternoon tea and evening canapes and drinks were also great. We even were presented with a lovely "bon voyage" cake on our last night from the staff which was a really kind gesture.
Our room was lovely and spacious and overlooked the pool area with a fabulous view of the Mosque with its breathtaking sunset views.
My only criticism - and this possibly down to our own choice/lack of research really - is the beach/sea area. It's not on the sea as such, it's on the canal therefore the water is not tidal and is pretty murky (no doubt caused by the constant gas guzzling jet skis!!) and not the nicest to swim in. The beach itself and the sunbeds are nice but I prefer actual sea/ocean to swim in/lie by. We therefore spent most of the time by the pool which is lovely. Quite a few badly behaved kids who are looked after by nannies who have no control over them! Comfortable sun beds and plenty of towels. A suggestion would be to have a towel booth nearer the beach/pool rather than only via the health club spa which, from the hotel side you have to reach by going via the buffet restaurant or go out and then back in again - bit weird!
The location of the hotel is good in that you are 20-30 minutes from anywhere you want to visit; taxis are easy to come by (and really cheap!). Not much surrounding the hotel really but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Fairmont.

Absolutely amazing! We love this hotel so much, we always return. Everything about this hotel is fantastic. Every single member of staff are incredibly polite, kind, helpful and go over and above to ensure your stay is an enjoyable and memorable one. The staff really do make this hotel stand out so much more than others. Rooms are spacious and impeccably clean and comfortable. The pool is heated and it so relaxing, and service comes to your sunbed. This most recent visit was our first in the Gold Lounge and we have to say it was wonderful. Again, every single staff member was extremely friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough for us. It was brilliant. They even surprised us with a happy birthday cake and song for one of our birthdays. The views from the beach of the Grand Mosque are incredible and the location is excellent as it gets you to all parts of Abu Dhabi Island from either direction, including being on the correct side of Duabi if you wish to do day trips there. Thank you again, Fairmont, for everything. Special thanks to Michael (concierge) for always taking the time to help us and make us feel welcome. Also to Saged for such a smooth booking process and welcoming check in.

Magnificent hotel with incredible views. The staff is very polite and always ready to help. We were after an overnight flight and arrived at the hotel around 12 noon, but the wonderful girl at the reception, Elisha, helped us check in earlier. After an overnight flight and a stuffy ear due to a runny nose, I could hardly say anything in English (but I understood) she was very patient and tactful, for which I thank her very much 😊 they gave me a wonderful room: soft beds with a blanket that looked like clouds. The room is huge, with floor-to-ceiling windows, good quality cosmetics (so you don’t have to take anything with you, everything is there). The beach is clean, the pool is heated and for those who are cool there is a jacuzzi with a water temperature of +39)) the breakfasts are gorgeous, coffee and tea can be brought so that you don’t have to walk around and spill it 😅 I would like to say a special thank you to the waiter Fazeen for his excellent sense of humor, politeness and attentive attitude to the guests. There is a beautiful mosque nearby which is accessible by a free shuttle from the hotel. They will also help you with calling a taxi. Excellent restaurants: Asian, Turkish and Italian cuisine. In all restaurants and from breakfast you can take with you what you didn’t fit into dinner. Thanks to the waiter of the Italian restaurant Alexander, he suggested that it was delicious 😋 . The hotel has Russian-speaking staff. When checking out, we received a nice bonus: our transfer was at 14:00 and they extended our room completely free of charge, simply by explaining our situation, which allowed us to have breakfast in peace and enjoy the sun, sea and pool (we were in no hurry and calmly went to the shower and got ready) before departure. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the hotel staff, you made our vacation easy and enjoyable!!!

Great and well-maintained facility with a beautiful pool area. BUT: major shortcomings in the catering area. - Orders were forgotten and mixed up - The breakfast buffet was sometimes overcrowded (probably by conference guests), so that the food had to be eaten in temporary rooms, which meant that you had to walk a long way through the lobby to the buffet. - Many dishes (waffles, pancakes) were constantly sold out or you had to wait a long time (the line for an omelette was a good 15 people long and lasted around 10 minutes). - If food runs out at the evening buffet, it is not necessarily brought back. - The waiters seem to have little training and have little overview. An eager waiter had already started clearing the breakfast table when you had just arrived and were getting the first juices etc. from the buffet. - In the various restaurants, it is not always clearly communicated what is included in the half-board package. This is only discovered after the meal and can lead to unpleasant surprises (additional costs of around EUR 20 per person and meal). The staff’s poor English skills probably play a part in this.

i was surprised with a trip away to the Fairmont hotel for my 30th for a week. The staff and hotel was brilliant from the off. We had issues with some guest on 1 evening who had repeatedly been shouting and playing music very loudly from midnight on and off until 6am the following day, we are all for a good time but this was excessive. We had complained during the night to which the manager and security dealt with the issue immediately. the following the day hotel called to advise the guests had been moved and proceeded to deliver a platter of fruit and chocolates to the room of which we did not expect and where most grateful for, the manager also proceeded to call us to check in with us the following day and ensure we had everything we needed which again was another nice touch.
The staff in the sports bar where exceptional. This was also the same around the pool bar and at our sun beds, after a couple of days we had been greeted with our favourite drinks each time without evening needing to be asked. all the restaurant staff where also great.
The cleaning staff where also brilliant and went above and beyond with the service and evening turn down service.
i would definitely come back and recommend, the only suggestion i would make is to offer more choice on beers for the all inclusive package as the only beer on offer was canned Carlsberg.

We had a wonderful 10-night stay at the Fairmont Abu Dhabi. The hotel truly deserves its 5-star rating. Upon our arrival from the UK, we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade. Additionally, the manager was kind enough to arrange a junior suite for us at a discounted rate.
The location of the hotel is a bit away from the bustling city centre of Abu Dhabi, which we found to be quite nice. However, taxis are readily available and reasonably priced, making it convenient to explore the city.
What sets this hotel apart is the exceptional staff and their commitment to maintain high standards. Benjamin, who takes care of you at the beach and pool area, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He even insisted on carrying our towels for us. Roy, who was responsible for cleaning our room, did an outstanding job and provided excellent service twice a day.
The hotel's restaurants are truly top-notch. Despite our preference for dining at different restaurants outside the hotel, we found that the quality of food and service within the hotel exceeded our expectations. Our favorite was the Marco Pierre White Italian restaurant. The food was excellent, but what made the experience even more enjoyable was the exceptional staff. Alexander, who hails from Turkmenistan, stood out as a true asset to the hotel. He was not only attentive and professional but also a true gentleman.
Overall, our stay at the Fairmont Abu Dhabi was nothing short of exceptional. We highly recommend it for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable experience.

This hotel did not disappoint again. We arrived at the hotel at 10am for a 3pm check in. The room was ready for us within the hour with the offer of a complimentary breakfast whilst we waited. The room was clean and very spacious although in need of a refresh. The choice and quality of food within the hotel was excellent. We dined at Marcos pizzeria, Bridges and Cafe Sushi. Particular shout out to Anita in Bridges Bar. Breakfast buffet was okay however, at the weekend it was extremely busy, sometimes struggling to get a seat. The pool was always clean and again for the majority of time relatively quiet. However from 4pm onwards there was an influx of families and children and Friday and Saturday was very busy with local members visiting. The pool bar was very relaxing but not inviting on a Friday or Saturday - more like a pool party. We spent our days on the beach where we were looked after by Benjamin. The most impressive was the beach lifeguard who prepared our loungers with towels and parasol everyday before we arrived - exceptional service. We will return but probably after October when more outdoor facilities will be open and in use.

Very nice hotel in a not quite central location but close to the highway so it can be easily reached by car. The hotel is very modern, the rooms are very large and spacious with over 40sqm. Bed is also very generous, there is enough space for suitcases, clothes, work utensils and also a large desk. Bathroom and toilet are separate, which I always find quite great. There is a shower and a bathtub present in a very interesting concept, because it is in the same room but can be used independently of each other. Spacious interior design and very modern but elegant furnishings. The hotel has a fitness center a beautiful pool and also access to the beach. The view of the mosque is fantastic. There is a flower service, art boutiques, hairdresser, cosmetics and a variety of spa treatments. The restaurants are just wonderful, at Mazaj BAB al Bahr we ate quite great. You can really only recommend that. Breakfast very varied and also many oriental dishes among them. I'm sure everyone will find something at Fairmont.
The real highlight, however, is the staff, their professionalism and hospitality, which make your stay a lasting experience. Nothing is too much, no wish too “strange”, here absolutely everything is done to make it as pleasant as possible for the guest. I have only felt this in very few hotels so far and the Fairmont BAB al Bahr is definitely one of them. The way the staff meets the guest is second to none and we didn't have a single bad moment at this hotel. Even when we needed a wheelchair so we could take our elderly mother to the hotel, the staff were unreservedly helpful and also lifted the wheelchair into the car.
The hotel's facilities leave little to be desired and the staff is wonderful. We are just grateful to have found such a human hotel where you are not just a paying number. Next time we are in Abu Dhabi we will come back to Fairmont BAB al Bahr.

The hotel is nice and the swimming pool is large with a deep end and is well-heated. The sea on Easter Sunday, 8th April 2023, was still too cold to swim in.
The assistant pool and beach manager Yoonus from Sri Lanka looked after me from the moment I arrived and was very professional and friendly.
I had lunch at the Poolside restaurant at the back of the bar which was not a very attractive area and didn't provide enough shade.
I ordered a bottle of white wine then had guacamole with tortilla chips for 85 dhs which was fine then I had fish and chips for 89 dhs which was not. The batter on the chips was more like a thick pancake with Indian spices which fell apart when I cut it open and the fish was full of bones. The chef really should learn how to make proper batter.
I appreciated the changing rooms near the pool where you could have a shower and products were provided and I also liked the convenience of the hairdresser in the lobby to get my hair washed and dried after my swim.
Yas Mall with a Marks and Spencer is nearby and is easy to get to with a rental car or by taxi.
