Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi receives mixed reviews for its value, with opinions ranging from highly satisfactory to overpriced. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently celebrated, with guests impressed by the pristine condition of the rooms and grounds. Service quality garners high praise but is occasionally marred by reports of inconsistency.
The luxurious and well-appointed ambiance charms many visitors, with the atmosphere and amenities—like the sumptuous pools and diverse dining options—often highlighted as standouts. While rooms are generally admired for their opulence and views, some guests have faced service and cleanliness shortcomings. The hotel's location is well-regarded, offering a splendid private beach and convenient access, despite the interior's complexity.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed at EP in April to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. We were travelling with our children and grandchildren, seven of them all under 7! We wanted a resort that would offer us variety in restaurants and lots to entertain the children, EP was a superb choice. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the housekeeping staff kept them immaculate, turn down is perfect, no one annoying you as your get ready - they seem to do it discreetly which is a blessing unlike some hotels where there want to knock at 6pm! Each and every restaurant offered the finest of foods and the service in each of them was second to none, all led by Aris the food and beverage manager who takes a very hands on roll in ensuring all runs smoothly and visited us on many occasions - this was a very hands on approach and this is clearly filtered down to all his teams...which was clearly noted. The hotel has lovely lazy river with water slides for the children, camel rides and a lovely playground, we didn't need to venture out of the very large complex which is so convenient - as large as it is, sunbeds are plentiful and the service is perfect everywhere...the beach staff are a credit to the hotel.
We will certainly return, this hotel has it all.

Once in a lifetime experience!
First of all, we enjoyed our stay to the fullest and would highly recommend to stay at the Emirates Palace!
We loved the concept of this hotel, especially the amount of space offered as well as the two different pool areas (one focussing on family and one on adults). Moreover, the service offered at the pool area of the East Wing was excellent - Umar and Koffi made us feel welcomed, offered many small amenities to us (f.ex. ice pops in the afternoon, small smoothies) and always tried to find the right spot for relaxation. We also enjoyed the nice small talk we had with them from time to time, also giving us some ideas of what to do and experience in Abu Dhabi. In addition, they always arranged the sunbeds in a very comfortable way and supplied us with complimentary water!
Apart from that, we also enjoyed the Episodes café a lot! We had some nice cakes, ate a sandwich at the Deli and tried some nice drinks at the Apothecary (the Pink Flamingo is just stunning!). Mehdi has been a very kind and forthcoming waiter! He welcomed us every evening, it was nice to have some small talk with him and he also remembered our preferences.
In general, we loved the atmosphere at this hotel, the amount of space offered as well as the tranquility! Even though this hotel has a lot of rooms, one does not meet a lot of people and even in the restaurants or at the beach or pool, it is really calm.
Our room (Deluxe room with garden view) also had a great size and the bathroom has been pretty large. The facilities were also on a high standard - just on a level that you expect from MO.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
To put it simply, the quality offered here comes at a price. However, it is well justified, and this also ensures that the hotel isn’t overrun by throngs of tourists. At least outside the high season, it is pleasantly quiet and at times almost serene in the long corridors of this palace. „Palace“ is indeed the right word, as the scale and furnishings of the hotel are truly worthy of one. Even the rooms in the lower price categories are generously sized and elegantly furnished to match the classic ambiance of the palace. There are several restaurants, all offering excellent food and drinks. The breakfast buffet stands out with ist wide variety and high quality; there is something for every taste. By the way, drinking water is free throughout the hotel and is even served chilled to each guest at one of the outdoor pools. What really sets this hotel apart from most others, though, is the staff. From the housekeeping team to the manager, everyone strives to make the guest’s stay as pleasant as possible. It’s simply a delight to be warmly greeted by every staff member while strolling through the long corridors. I would especially like to commend Hamza and Iomshed, who took great care of us during the dinner buffet, as well as all the other kind staff members whose names I unfortunately do not know. We will gladly return.

The whole experience was great, although the weather was not very good and a bit unfortunate, but the service here really did not say anything. From our arrival at the hotel, Mr. Joseph welcomed us warmly. Tell us about the general facilities and facilities of the hotel. Tell us about Golf Cars Tour Hotel. He said the hotel has a lot of entertainment projects, living a day is absolutely not enough, the results really feel not enough, ha. After we can't call the car to the Desert Hotel, he quickly helped us to call the car and then asked our feelings.
Mr. Emmanouil Ntomas served us kindly at the time of check-in, apologized for our waiting for check-in, and then prepared a little tea for us in person. The check in check out process was very smooth and we put our deposit in the envelope.
The first meal and the next breakfast are in Vendôme, food is very varied, and it feels like breakfast is more enjoyable than the first meal (breakfast is more than your favorite dishes, main meat and delicate desserts are more). An Indonesian Chinese employee (forgot to ask her name), very kind, she served well, told us a lot of hotel things, and told us that the original hotel has a bee farm, mainly there are few Chinese, meeting one felt very kind.
While traveling in the hot season, but because this hotel is really large, there is no feeling of crowding at all, there is no need to wait for the elevator to the room, and there are also many people who feel the beach or the pool.
The hotel swimming pool is large, the sand of the beach is very thin, the photos can be taken with the scenery, and there is a yoga mat in the room. Any plug in the room can be used here, without a transformer, the bathroom water pressure is great, the bath is comfortable, the equipment is complete.
I think it's pretty good to have their room service, the phone in the room called the front desk for less than a second and answered the phone asking for help, and called our name.
There was a little rain that day, we came to the place where we ride, and the people who took care of them were very kind, because the rain could not ride, but heard that we would leave tomorrow morning, or let us ride a little. Riding the rail itself is free, but such a service is given a little fee, both are happy.
There is a little bit of Chinese inadequate is because the day it rains, we want to tour the hotel golf cart a little short, waiting for quite a long time to date, when the driver felt the whole bullshit, and did not explain to us. We got off midway.
But also because it rains, let's see the rainbow! Really beautiful.
In short, people feel that this hotel is not worthy of their title, the most luxurious 8-star hotel, and are very pleased to have the opportunity to experience such a great holiday experience.

Myself and my husband recently spent a weekend staying here at this absolutely beautiful hotel, and we are already planning another stay soon! From the second we walked through the door to the second we walked out, it was pure perfection! Everything was magical, the room was so comfortable and beautifully designed with the most cosy bed we have ever slept in. It was my husbands birthday so they had arranged a cake and some nice chocolates to be in the room when we arrived (the cake was a very welcomed midnight snack on the balcony and was utterly delicious!) We had dinner at the new beach restaurant Sand and Koal and was outstanding, we spent 2 days at one of the pools (with the swim up bar) and we enjoyed fabulous hospitality from all the staff there, from the wonderful lifeguards to the fantastic pool and bar staff who took care of our every need, and we enjoyed some expertly made cocktails from the pool bar. The next morning we enjoyed a long and leisurely breakfast and we loved it so much, you can eat your way around the world with the most extensive breakfast buffet that we have ever seen! The fresh fruits, the pastries, the sushi, the avocado on fresh sourdough, the donuts, the coffee and tea and the fruit juices, all were amazing!!! The hotel grounds, gardens and beach were all immaculate and we loved exploring all the different areas (we ended up walking 10,000 steps because we wanted to see everything!) the hotel is huge, but if you’re not a great walker then don’t worry, they have golf carts to take you around as well as many bikes to pick up from around the ground to explore more! All the staff were incredible, we also loved the smiling and polite security who are scattered all around the hotel, all were so nice and helpful. We have to say though, the star of the weekend for us was at the check in desk,
Johannes Kampmann was the most warm and delightful person we have ever met at any hotel (and we have stayed in over 400 accommodations over 75 countries in 20 years together) everything about him was amazing, he was so genuine and we felt like he was an old friend when he greeted us. He deserves so much credit because he’s such an asset to your fabulous hotel! Thank you so much for taking such good care of us during our stay, we cannot wait to come back again soon!!

We stayed for 1 night in Sept 2023. First impressions are it’s a very grand hotel and has lovely interior. Check in was smooth and although our room wasn’t ready they arranged for lunch.
We dined in the Italian and this was exceptional food and service, would highly recommend. However, it was downhill from here. Our room was nice and spacious and a crib had been set up. We were given some complimentary dates in a small box but when we opened them they had small ants inside so we naturally we binned them.
Our room was quite far from the kids pool which we found strange to put us there given that we had our 2 year old with us. It also meant getting a buggy to it every-time we went. Normally this is fine but we had to wait 15-20mins on the buggy which was frustrating, particularly with a child. The kids pool is nice and the slides are great for entertainment however they have an issues with crows around the pool who will eat any food or in our case drinks any drinks that are left unattended. This meant one of us had to be at our Sun loungers at all times.
We opted for half board but the dinner buffet restaurant was quite chaotic in terms of service and food was average at best. I would not recommend.
Breakfast the next morning was similar in terms of service, with long waiting times and orders not turning up at all. Shout out to Alex who saw our frustration and came over to help us receive our coffees.
Overall, a beautiful hotel but needs a big improvement if it is to reach the standard of the many other 5 star options available in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
We did feed back our comments to the hotel and were offered a free upgrade if we booked again in order to ‘restore our confidence’ but we politely declined as I wouldn’t risk having the same experience again.

The Emirates Palace is indeed one of the finest properties in the world. At the reception desk, we were warmly greeted by Yigit and Johannes Kampmann, who were both very professional and provided first-class service. We were informed of the hotel's amenities and escorted to our room. The room was in perfect shape (kudos to housekeeping) and the bed was extremely comfortable. At the beach, Praveen helped us with our beach chairs as well as with our snacks' order. A small dissatisfaction with one of the items was perfectly handled by both Praveen and the food manager. The breakfast buffet was delicious, in particular, the kibbeh fantastically prepared by Mary. While checking out, Joseph helped us to put our luggage in storage. He did so with a friendly smile. At the reception, we had the pleasure of interacting again with Johannes and Yigit. Ahmed Adel helped us put our valuables in a safe deposit box. We were then able to spend some time at the pool before heading to the airport for our flight back home. The only feedback we would like to provide is to the pool attendants. Perhaps, they may need to be more proactive in helping customers set up the pool lounge chairs. In our experience, the towel station was often unattended. We were never approached and offered help in setting the chairs up. We did not mind doing it ourselves but the expectation in a property such as the Emirates Palace is different. Thank you to Johannes, Yigit, Ahmed A., Praveen and Joseph for helping create some great memories!

+1
This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It ia a little bit on the pricey side but is worth every penny, the service was absolutely amazing every single day by every single staff member, everyone was so helpful and kind and would literally help with absolutely anything you needed or wanted.
The rooms are amazing and the bed is one of the comfy beds I have ever slept in. The rooms are cleaned every day and every night just before you go to sleep they are tidied again and beds are turned down.
All of the food and drink in the hotel is amazing not one meal or drink was bad. Even the buffet restaurant was high-quality and every single meal we had was a good one. The the smoothies near the adults pool were really, really good.
The sun-beds are really comfortable and there are two pool choices which are both great and one of them has a lazy river which we loved. they also kept bringing freezing cold water out to us every couple of hours which was great as it’s so hot. They also brought around complimentary ice lollies every day.
Overall Emirates Palace is definitely the best place I’ve ever stayed in, the whole hotel is so pretty and everything is so grand, everything is decorated so beautifully, it smells amazing literally everywhere, the staff are all so lovely and accommodating and you 100% get what you pay for and more.

The Emirates Palace was just great on our second visit too. After having already visited the hotel in April 2023, we stayed there for 7 nights over New Year's Eve. We can say again: The Emirates is simply one of the best hotels in the world, we enjoyed every second.
This time we got a beautiful deluxe room with a garden view. The room was very spacious and luxurious and left nothing to be desired. Housekeeping was absolutely accurate and the turndown service left nothing to be desired.
We ate in a different restaurant every evening and were able to go on a little culinary trip around the world. We enjoyed fine Chinese cuisine in the 1 Michelin star Hakkasan restaurant and fine Italian food in the 1 Michelin star Taleo restaurant. We were also spoiled with steaks in the Sands and Koal on the beach and fine Indian food in the Martabaan. This time we would particularly like to highlight the American food in Broadway and the super delicious food in the Lebanese restaurant, both of which were garnished with live music! We were not able to visit either restaurant in April and both restaurants complement the gastronomic concept perfectly.
The pool area - this time we mainly went to the children's water park because of our newborn daughter - and the area on the beach leave nothing to be desired. There are a wide range of sports options such as 2 modern fitness clubs, tennis, football, cricket and so on. The hotel's extensive grounds even allow for a nice jogging route that leads over the beach, marina and the gardens around the hotel and is almost 7 kilometers long. It is precisely the spaciousness of the hotel that ensures heavenly peace!
We also booked treatments in the newly renovated spa, which were very relaxing in a great atmosphere.
But in the end there is only one thing that can be emphasized: the friendliness and warmth of the hotel. Every member of staff, whether reception, doormen, housekeeping, waiters, etc. are highly motivated and very warm. Although the hotel accommodates a lot of guests, some of the staff still remembered us from April and were very excited that we were there with our daughter. Everyone was just lovely to our baby.
The Emirates Palace is just great fun and has become our favorite hotel. We will definitely be back!

Dear Emirates Palace Team,
We spent a wonderful vacation with you. The truly unique service is outstanding and second to none. We have stayed in a number of luxury hotels, but the Emirates Palace, especially the EP Club, is truly magnificent. We arrived at the hotel very early and were looked after immediately. We were even given a room until our room was ready. A few examples of the service. There is a book in the room, a book marker was provided, there is a glasses case on the desk, a glasses cleaning cloth is placed next to it. The food in the many restaurants is also highly recommended. And finally: our return flight also left in the middle of the night, and here too we were allowed to stay in the EP Club until we had to go to the airport. We would like to emphasize Kitana and of course her colleagues, who always looked after us perfectly, thank you very much.
We would love to come back and are really looking forward to it.

There is a lazy river, and watersports some are free they have an obstacle course in the water. There are lots of shaded areas and you are given water there are bikes you can bike ride on also for free. I’m not sure the age of children but there are 2 gyms also. This is an amazing property enjoy.
