We stayed here for a couple of nights and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located right in the center of Bogota (Candeleria area) and near all the attractions: the gold museum, churches, the cable car and a lot of restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they provide an excellent breakfast which is included in the...

Nice place to stay in the heart of el Centro in Bogota's Candelaria district. While the area may cater more to the partier backpacker type, Casa Platypus provides a more chill atmosphere, which I appreciated being able to retreat a bit from the busy city center. The staff, Paloma, Ramon and Felipe are really great and really impressive as they...

I stayed here for the weekend with two other friends and it was the perfect choice for first-time Bogota visitors. The location is great and safe - there are museums, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay and they also provide an incredible breakfast, with made to order eggs! Be aware...

What a great environment for travelers. Hernan is a wealth of information and the place is always fun. The location is perfect for any trip to Bogota, within easy walking distance to the Septima and all major transport.

This is a typical colonial style property with a nice interior courtyard and (steep to access) roof terrace. A good location for everything in downtown Bogota, easily walkable. Our room was very small with practically nowhere to put clothes or toiletries but the air-conditioning worked and it was a good mid-range option. Lots of street noise on Friday night even...

Do not be misled by the outside of this friendly hotel, take off the wrapper and enter a very comfortable easy going hotel with a hostel feel, English speaking staff in reception helped me out of a predicament (airport transport failed to arrive an alternative was arranged via the tour company who had arranged it - something I was unable...

This is a well-run, clean hostel very conveniently located close to the Gold Museum, Bolivar Square, La Candeleria, and public transportation. The multi-lingual staff can be very helpful. Breakfast is good. We had a room on the outside of the hostel next to a major street. It was very noisy. If you can get an interior room, you will sleep...

This place is like an upmarket hostel, well equipped with an interior courtyard. Rooms are not big but very comfortable with hot water. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The great thing is the friendly staff who will make an espresso coffee when you ask! A great bonus for coffee drinkers like me.

My sister and I stayed here at the beginning and end of our three weeks in Columbia - 5 nights in all. The staff are absolutely great in helping you find your way around, with restaurant recommendations and anything else you need. And they speak excellent English which we did not find many places in Colombia. It's located just across...

We spent three nights here and loved it - and will return! Right in the heart of the action, it's a lovingly refurbished colonial house with small but perfectly fitted rooms. There is a bit of noise with people walking on the wooden floors, but it's a small price to pay to be in a great place. La Candelaria is...
