At first the somewhat drab area seems unimpressive, but considering a traffic-prone downtown, the location only 10-15 minutes from the El Dorado airport is a blessing. Beyond the glistening and stylish surface of a newish hotel, lie two standout features at the Grand Hyatt Bogota: the superbly professional and friendly staff and the best spa installations I have seen in travel around Latin America. When you add this to the fact that you have two top-tier restaurants on site and a shopping center just minutes' walking distance away, there is almost no reason to leave the area. We will be back!

I had a terrific stay at the Grand Hyatt Bogota. The property was well kept and clean, I felt comfortable and safe. They had hand sanitizer everywhere, offered masks, and had proper protocol for social distancing at the restaurants, gyms, pools, etc. As a WOH member, the Club Lounge was closed. However, they offered complimentary breakfast (buffet) and evening Hors d'oeuvres and drinks (wine, beer, and alcohol) at their restaurant in lieu of the lounge benefit. And let me say, the food was terrific! The staff were extremely nice and friendly, they even left us some treats as it was my partner's and I anniversary. Everything was perfect and we look forward to staying again next time we are in Bogota.

First time in Bogotá and I'm glad I picked this hotel. It's located between the airport and the main touristy area of Bogota, so an ideal spot to explore the city without all the hustle and bustle of the city center.
The area around the hotel was quiet at night, but I felt safe walking around. There's a mall within walking distance (10 minutes) where you can take a stroll or buy some snacks to bring back to your room.
Upon arriving I was warmly greeted and led to the lobby area to check in. The check in process was smooth and quick. Not all staff spoke English but they were all very friendly and tried their best. Side note: learning just a little Spanish can go a long way.
Stayed in the Grand Executive Suite on the top floor, and wow, was the room nice! The suite consisted of a dining/kitchen area, living room, walk-in closet, bedroom, and bathroom. Everything was well laid out with modern furnishings and decor. The room still looked new. I liked it so much that I took advantage of the late check out and stayed until 4pm on the last day. The bathroom had a separate bathtub and shower, double sink, and a little room with a toilet. There's also a second toilet in a little room in the entryway for those who take too long with the first one.
Just as impressive as the room was the large pool. There was also a separate "hydrotherapy pool" area that had pools with different types of pressure jets and a jacuzzi. If that wasn't enough there was also a steam room, sauna and a large locker room with this neat machine that could dry wet garments in 10 seconds. I tried it out and while my shorts weren't completely dry, I was shocked at how dry it was.
The hotel has two restaurants onsite, and I had the chance to try both. The restaurant on the ground floor was called Capitalino and served casual international dishes. I got the Argentinian steak, and it was tasty and reasonably priced. The second restaurant was a Japanese restaurant called Ushin and it's located on top floor of the hotel. To get to the restaurant, you have to get on a separate elevator in a different elevator bank from the one that leads to the guestrooms. The front desk staff may want to tell guests about this because multiple times I ran into people wandering around the 14th Floor looking for the restaurant. Anyway, back to the restaurant. The views were great and the katsudon and Hyatt tea I ordered weren't bad either. For breakfast, it was at the Capitalino and buffet-style with a nice selection to choose from.
Overall had a wonderful stay and wouldn’t hesitate one second to stay here again the next time I’m down here!

This was one of the best hotels in Bogota bc (before coronavirus) and hopefully it will be afterwards.
We stayed here after visiting mom (US) because there were no flights to return home (Cartagena) after clearing immigration with Colombia's new mandatory nightmare software program.
We ordered a room service salad for dinner. Everything came in disposable plastic containers. We took a shower. Every towel was individually wrapped in plastic. We ordered breakfast and again everything came in disposable plastic containers. We took another shower and added more towel plastic waste to our pile.
When we left 12 hours later, even we were appalled at our room's huge plastic waste pile and we are not as environmentally aware as our children want us to be.
Hyatt management understandably wants to ensure travelers that they won't catch coronavirus in their hotel room.
Why won't soap and hot water kill the coronavirus on plates, silverware and towels as it does when we wash our hands ?

Currently it is difficult to find activities to do as a family, so staying here even if you live in Bogotá is a wonderful alternative. We loved our stay at the grand Hyatt. They were very meticulous with the aseptic measures which gives you a peaceful stay. The rooms are amazing and with an incredible view of the city. We really enjoyed the happy hour at capitalino and staff was very attentive. I would only recommend to take more into account families with children, I mean maybe have some kind of activities for them to do at the restaurant or even in the rooms, you could have a bubble bath for them, also it would be nice not having to ask for an extra towel for our daughter.

I originally booked the Grand Hyatt Bogota for a work trip. When that fell through but all the charges had already been reimbursed I figured why waste the trip? I expected a good hotel, maybe a little sterile and businesslike, but was blown away completely.
The hotel sent myself and my friend a car at the airport and happily arranged transportation to and from anywhere for the remainder of our trip. Every driver was friendly, safe, and professional and knew their way around through the hectic Columbian traffic. Manuel, the fabulous concierge, helped us with all kinds of plans including a wonderful trip to the Salt Cathedral and a recommendation for our next stop (Cartagena). Thanks Manuel!
We spent a lot of time at their little bar, Ilustre, and really loved Nelson, who was a great bartender and helped us practice our bad Spanish with good cheer. The cocktails we had (especially the 1810) were stellar and the bar snacks (especially the croquetas) were to die.
We decided to get express massages at the spa before a dinner reservation and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Sonia listened to my requests very well and really paid attention to the tense areas I wanted to be worked out. The spa is gorgeous and everything smelled amazing. I was totally relaxed.
Each morning we’d go enjoy the breakfast at the Grand Club and it was delightful every time. Beautiful tea and coffee selections, smoked salmon, tons of pastry and bread choices, and gorgeous local fruit. I went to bed each night looking forward to the breakfast.
Ushin provided us with a gorgeous view and decent Japanese food for our last dinner. I will say that Ushin was the only thing I had a complaint about: the items were fairly bland (more spice please!) and the service was inattentive. However, the food was still quite tasty. The passionfruit mocktail I had was absolute heaven with fresh passionfruit and passionfruit seeds in the bottom.
Other perks and honorable mentions: the great bathtubs, the huge and well stocked bath rooms in general, the amazing view we got from the 14th floor (what a room), the comfortable beds and pillows (we found out on the last day that there’s even a *pillow menu* so you can order the firmness you like, but the default ones were great anyway), the complimentary shoe shine service, super quick responses for a small repair we needed, portable charges to use in any of the downstairs common areas, the delicious arroz con leche in the cafe, and the fact that everyone spoke great English to help me out as I struggled through Spanish.
I really felt like royalty the whole time. The whole staff went above and beyond the entire time and I was constantly pleasantly surprised by the next-level service and amenities. I didn’t want to leave! Thank you everyone, my relaxing stay at the Grand Hyatt Bogota was exactly what I needed

I spent 3 nights at this stunning property recently. Was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was when I arrived. The service was quite good, 4.5 stars I would stay. The area is very quiet, and there is a large mall within walking distance, which I took full advantage of. There is also a full service spa on property which is right up there with some of the best spas around.
The only downsides were the expensive taxi service which of course is optional and the distance to the city center.

Definitely one of my favorite hotels in Bogota. We always try to stay here when we visit Colombia. Conveniently located in the geographic center of the city (not historical city center). Always great customer service and very clean facilities. Also the is a large mall only a couple minutes walking with huge variety of stores and restaurants - very convenient to go shopping or dining. The architecture of the hotel is very neat - it is like an oval with an open space in the middle, so you can see all levels/floors of the hotel with a lovely green area at the bottom. Lobby is very spacious with high ceilings and beautifully designed, has several cozy seating areas and tables where you can work with comfort or enjoy a conversation or a drink. Rooms are fabulous, comfortable and very bright with huge floor to ceiling windows from where you can see gorgeous view of the mountains on a clear day. Beds are very nice, and pillows and blankets are soft like clouds. Good tea and coffee varieties available in every room. Wonderful variety of food at the breakfast buffet- some of the fruits I have never tried before or even heard of, so I always try to make sure to taste everything. Also you can order a la carte items like omelets, poached eggs, etc. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is to visit the spa, which probably takes the whole floor of the hotel. There is an awesome olympic size pool, jacuzzi and hydromassage area if you want to soak in the water or wet and dry sauna. Massages and haircuts are available by appointment as well. Gym is very spacious and has a lot of machines, which is very nice when it is busy, so you don’t have to wait for your turn, but just use another one. There is even a small yoga room in the end of the gym where you can do stretches and get some privacy while working out. The executive lounge at the hotel is super nice. Great place if you need to work or meet up a client or something. Very quite and comfortable. Drinks and refreshments are available all day long. Breakfast in the morning is very good, but we prefer going to the buffet. Happy Hour is wonderful at the lounge with great drinks and food. Amazing variety and quality of food. At the top floor there is a great Japanese restaurant. We went there and were very satisfied with the food, service and design of the restaurant. There is even a small cute balcony with an amazing view of the city, where you can take lovely pictures. I just want to say thank you to the Grand Hyatt team in Bogota, because they are doing a fantastic job to keep us satisfied and happy. They make our stay memorable and that is why we always want to come back to have more of it.

As a World of Hyatt member, this is my favorite place to stay in Bogota. This is Full Service hotel, and the personnel are very attentive to the guests needs and comfort. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, and have always enjoyed the luxurious rooms, the indoor pool, the jacuzzi, and the the hydro-therapy pools. They also have locker rooms for both male and female guests, and each has its own sauna and steam room, showers, and rest rooms. For those that want a massage, the hotel Spa offers a variety of services, beauty and grooming products, all at an additional cost. The hotel feels very secure, and one feels this from the moment of arrival. The restaurant has a wonderful buffet breakfast, and a la carte menus for lunch and dinner. No matter what you order, I am sure you will be pleased with the quality of the food and the service you receive.

I was very impressed with my stay at the Grand Hyatt. The layout was very nice and comfortable. Modern touches without being too tacky. The rooms were very nicely laid out with lots of open space. Very good bathrooms with a rain shower and tub and separate room for the toilet. The inner courtyard you could look down on from the room floors was also a cool touch. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
There are some nice parks nearby and you can walk to many areas. The hotel is a bit removed from the downtown area, but is about midway between there and the airport.

I’m not sure what Robert W. is talking about...
Yes, the hotel is close to the airport, but not close to other areas for tourism. The national museum is about a 30 minute cab ride away as are Monserrat and Guadalupe. This is also true for the main hotel and restaurant district.
I still highly recommend the Hyatt because of the value and quality of the hotel and excellent service.
