If you are on a budget for a room for less than USD 100 a night, this is the place. I found this hotel with very helpful staff, clean room with a pleasant surrounding, tucked away in a residential area. The room (122) I had was clean with all the amenities with great wifi. In fact throughout the hotel, in...

Visited Guyana for Carnival Weekend (Trinidad's). Herdmanston Lodge is a nice hotel but it is way too overpriced. What I understand is that the area of Georgetown where the hotel is situated is actually the upper class area which looked like middle class compared to Trinidad. The hotel has an old building to the front and a more upscale one...

Right from reception the staff are excellent and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms are big and the beds comfortable and very quiet. The wifi is fast and free. Rather than go out at night I ate at the restaurant but generally they don't have all the items on the limited menu, especially disappointing was the unavailability of the local...

Prices in Georgetown have increased greatly over the past few years. In my opinion the best value is the Herdmanston Lodge where colonial meets modern. The older section rooms are next to a lovely wooden floored terrace open to the breeze which we particularly enjoyed sharing with our family. If you want a higher level of comfort opt for a...

As a frequent worldwide traveler I have found that the staff are the most hospitable that I've encountered in a while. They always go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. I would say that if you've had a bad experience there then maybe you're the problem. The rooms are very clean and quiet. I...

regarding email exchanges, just ignored my request regarding questions on my booking..ony when booking.com got involved , that my queries were dealt in a timely matter. I don't think that the older part of this property is worth 100USD or even the new part..hotels in Guyana are way over priced.

The hotel is beautiful with old and new rooms, unfortunately our upgrade due to water leakage led to a larger room with more problems, Hot water not working, musty corridor smell, mosquitoes and noise ruined our night. I was left stranded late on one outing where the hotel did not book my return cab and did not contact me. Check...

This is a great place to stay in Georgetown. We stayed in the suite. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there's good internet. The restaurant struggles to cater for vegetarians. Find a local Survival supermarket (10min walk) and the great local bakery (5mins) and cook yourself. The kitchen couldn't provide a can opener. Otherwise go to one of the...

Comfortable and quiet hotel in residential area. Friendly staff, particularly in the hotel's modest restaurant. Dinner menu could be more imaginative. On the whole, an enjoyable 7-night stay. Look forward to returning to HL.

The bed was shaky, there was a foul stench in the hallway, no light in the closet, one robe knowing we booked as couple, limited menu, mosquitos in the room, inconsistency of the water in the tub, poor customer service
