Yes it's a big hill to climb each day, but think of it as exercise 😃 the atmosphere and management make it all worthwhile! As English speakers with a little french, the staff make you incredibly welcome and make it easy. It's super friendly, facilities are great and you can pick up plenty of help to plan your trips further...

4/5, location is a bit out of the way, but that re-assures you that its a bit more safer since its isolated. Community kitchen is available for use, but the rigidity in keeping account of "your" dishes, combined with the locker system (they have lockers for your dry food and cold food), makes preparing food complicated sometimes. Friendly staff,clean rooms and kitchen. Good place to stay. If you think about to rent a car juast ask the reception or andrea, very helpful and knows alot about the island. Very good view from the balcony. Internet is availabl.

I stayed 2 nights at the start and end of my new Caledonia stay. Excellent location, amazing view of fireworks on 13 july and other nights. Helpful staff, very good value, lots of power points, and friendly atmosphere

I have spent 2 nights in dorm here and I enjoyed staying here. The location is great, near Place de Cocotiers. To/from airport you can take the Carsud Bus only 400XPF. A fairly basic youth hostel which is conveniently close to Nouméa city centre (if you can handle the staircase).
