After read the reviews here and also recommended by VT members, we decided to stay here on our budget trip to Yangon. Due to the expensive rate of accommodation in Yangon, this was the best I could find for the budget US$30 per night of the standard. Pro: Good Location, acceptable clean, free airport transport, free refill of water, new...

If you are travelling into Yangon via Air Asia Ocean Pearl provide a free transfer.  Staff are welcoming and very willing to assist with transport requests and speak good English.  It is an older style hotel, some of the stair access to higher floors are quite narrow.  Request room with balcony high up if you can, I believe some rooms...

I stayed in Ocean Pearl 2 (Aung Si). The room was comfortable enough although it had no window. The bathroom would smell a bit after showers but I soon learned that is the standard in myanmar and not really specific to the inn. The manager was very friendly and helpful in planning out days. Breakfast was basic. In the end...

The room itself is adequate, nothing special, but does have hot water and the bed sheets were clean. The beds were very uncomfy though. We were on the 4th floor, which had some pretty steep steps up to it - which may be a problem for older visitors. There was soap and water provided in the room which was nice....

I booked the room via email without deposit, they trust me and I trust them. All the staff are very helpful and polite. I stayed in the double room on the 3rd floor. It is equipped with standards furniture. Bed, toilet, floor, they are clean. From here you can walk to superstores nearby and it's close to Botathaung Pagoda. It's...

I've stayed here on 3 separate occasions the first back in 2006. Sadly the price has tripled since then but the quality hasn't. This is a sad fact all over Burma. However this hotel is well located for Swhedagon pagoda, the waterfront, eating and shopping and I've always found the staff helpful. The free wifi and airport pick up are...

I got a room here after checking another guesthouse that ended up being full. I paid $20 for the downstairs single. It has an attached bath and a TV, but no windows. The room was big enough and clean. My major gripe was that it constantly smelled like sewage in my room. I eventually got used to it, but it's...

We stayed one night in the hotel right next to Ocean hotel and for the same price ($ 30 but in Burma, it can very quickly evolve upwards), Ocean hotel was a cut above. In Yangon, a double room in the center of the city with own and clean bathroom (hot shower), fridge, air con, and tv (well, one or...

This hotel was horrible. The 2 staff members were not nice. It was impossible to decide when we could take the free shuttle to the airport. We had to fly at 11o clock and they already dropped us at 6.30h at the airport. It was ridicule. The answer they had for us was: "our taxi at 6.30h or you pay...

We stayed at Aung Si when we first arrived in Yangon, then again when we were about to leave Myanmar. Free airport pickup was a big plus, and was well organized. Rooms are clean and comfortable with hot shower, hot and chilled drinking water, aircon and free wifi available 24 hours. Breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts we...
