Normally I book over Internet sites: but this time I was in the neighborhood in the Merchant Boutique Hotel when a cab driver tried to persuade me of changing into this large outdated hotel. Thanks to Buddha: I made a visiting check of the premises, and I never checked in.

Hotel is very large and looks as though it has been trapped in time since 1970. The Restaurant is very slow service with the staff more interested in watching the TV. Breakfast had a limited Buffet of Fried Rice, Noodles, and Fried Eggs plus some other Deep Fried item which I never tried. Room was a good size, with an...

It was a rare occasion in my life to check out of a hotel before completing my paid up stay . That I had made a wrong choice after seeing the pictures on the internet became apparent as soon as I stepped into the gargantuan lobby which if I am not mistaken is not air conditioned . The suite was...

This hotel is near Shwe Damon pagoda. It is in waking distance. But there is no other reason to stay at this place. Maintenance is very poor, the room and the corridor was very dirty. Several lights in the room not working. Staff is friendly.

The room we stayed in had a great view facing the Schwedagon Pagoda, so if your prime area to visit is Scwedagon, then this hotel is perfectly situated. The area is quite noise, though. The room itself was large, but rundown and dirty. The breakfast buffe consisted of fried rice, fruit, toast and jam. I would not recommend this hotel,...

Seeing the Majestic woodcarvings in the lobby makes you think you've landed in a luxury hotel. It's only a facade like 'princess smileyface' behind the desk. She is pretty but not very competent, she doesn't understand a thing you ask her. It starts in the elevator with the loose and torn carpet inside. The hallways smell of urine and such...

I stayed in this hotel as part of a package deal with a Dutch tour operator. After a 12 hour bus trip from Inle Lake to Yangon, we arrived at the Yuzana hotel, only to be appalled by the condition of our stay for the next 4 nights. The hotel enterance seems grand and seems to promise great luxury, but...

This former(?) state run hotel has a lot of opportunities that are unexploited. The location (walking distance from the famous Shwedagon paya) is excellent and some rooms offer splendid views on it. But onfortunately that's where it stops. The rooms are lived out and not cosy (mainly because you feel like you're in a ball room). Service is state-run: not...

This hotel came as part of a tour organised by Red Ixora Travel & tours. I stayed about 15 days & believe the rate was in the $85-$95US range. It's location is very good for the outstanding Shewdagon Pagoda & the corner room I was in had an excellent view of it, especially at night. There are some good restaurants...
