This is a beautiful and relaxing respite form the heat and clamour of the streets of Yangon. Located within walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda this hotel offers an oasis-like atmosphere with a beautiful relaxing pool, delicious French inspired restaurant and cool jasmine-perfumed rooms. No is is not the 'real' Myanmar but sometimes you just need a little luxury and...

Our first visit to Myanmar and we were so happy with this hotel. We ate in all 3 restaurants and the food was always exceptional. We knew Myanmar was going to be more expensive than other south eastern Asian hotels but we spent 5 nights here and will return! Would maybe ask for a pool facing room next time but...

This beautiful authentic colonial building really brings you back to the beginning of the century. The carefully chosen interior design blends myanmar hand made antiquities with colonial wooden furniture. The internal patio garden with pool is crowned with magnificent flowers and bouganvillea. A small haven amidst Yangon's hustle and bustle, right beside the city's most beautiful sight: the stunning Shwedagon...

Just a short stay here in the gorgeous Savoy Hotel but we were charmed by the quaint opulence of it and by the water pistols that were left for us to enjoy (given that we were visiting during the water festival mayhem). The pool was lovely (although it is a small space with limited seating) and the breakfasts were impressive....

The hotel has very spacious, clean, well decorated rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. The the fusion dishes, which can also be served in the ground floor french restaurant, are really the best we had in all of Myanmar. Very good memories to this hotel which is located near the schwedagon pagode. Very nice pool, and affordable massages too.

Colonial charm intact despite the fact that the hotel interior isn't quite A* status - our shower had a leak that they fixed quickly. What makes it special is the fact that every member of staff was so helpful right from the start getting a double room ready for us in 20 minutes when we said we didnt want a...

Wow...I LOVED this historic hotel from the moment we entered. Beautiful teakwood paneling, antiques, very clean and top notch staff. Our room was on the second floor after climbing a beautiful staircase and what a room! French doors that opened overlooking the pool, a HUGE room, elegant bathroom and comfortable bed and pillows. We had drinks in the charming bar...

Having travelled extensively in Asia, I have learned to be weary of "boutique" hotels where "charm" and convenience (and cleanliness...) often reside at the opposite sides of the spectrum. Not in the case of Hotel Savoy in Yangon! It fully delivers of the promise of the "old times" charm - both in terms of the physical setting and the amazing,...
