A modern and comfortable hotel with helpful staff. The bed was the most comfortable one this time in Asia. There’s a small supermarket on the lobby floor where you can buy snacks and essentials. The hotel seems to be located in a business district, so there didn’t appear to be much going on in terms of restaurants or nightlife. But on the plus side, it’s very quiet at night, which I prefer. Breakfast wasn’t included in my room, so I have no idea how that was. The maze-like subway is right outside any of the two exits of the hotel. One of the main reasons I chose to stay at GLAD Mapo is that the train to the airport makes a stop here, which is very convenient. I’m not likely to return to Seoul, but if I do I’d happily consider staying at this hotel again.

The location was awesome - easy connection to the airport via Arex, and everywhere else in the city with the subway and bus. It is also directly linked to the station exit with access to lift and escalators, no issues transporting our luggage. I appreciate that it is not in a touristy area so you get a more local experience in terms of restaurants and amenities. The convenience store at the lobby was also a plus point! The room was well designed and great value with the price point!

One minor downside was that central air conditioning was unavailable in Oct and there was some external noise. It was early Autumn so we had to open the windows to cool down the room at night and unfortunately our room faced the busy main t-junction. The noise level (including sirens from ambulances/police cars) was present late into the night, especially so during Fridays and weekends. Ended up having to keep the window closed for better sleep (great soundproofing with the windows closed though). So it may be good to request for room facing away the main street if you are a light sleeper and coming in between seasons. I don't imagine this being a problem in colder months since the room would have been cooled with the windows closed.

Other than that, we had a great stay at Glad Mapo. All the staff we interacted with were kind. Definitely will consider staying at Glad again for my next trip!

Very comfortable stay at Glad Mapo, with convenient access to many tourist attractions in Seoul. The rooms were well furnished and the beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping was very attentive and water was replenished daily without fail. Great service by Mason too! Will definitely consider Glad Mapo when I visit Seoul again!

We didn’t feel as tourists that the area was that interesting, perhaps better for a business stay. The metro exit 9 brings you to the hotel door very conveniently. If you take a right whilst exiting the hotel there are many small interesting restaurants, alcohol shop which was cheaper than the convenience store.

The room was comfortable, we were on a high floor but faced another building. The tea and coffee amenities were not generous.

I loved the robe in the room and in the lobby they have a display with all of the items you can purchase. I asked if I could buy one for 45000 won, no I have to go to the Gangnam hotel… ok?! Lucky we were heading to that area to stay for a few days so I went to the Gangnam hotel who also displayed items to purchase in their lobby. No I was told, I have to buy online. I asked how long does delivery take? A week I was told. Many tourists don’t hang around in one location for a week. I’m disappointed how difficult this was and all of the unnecessary running around. To the hotel, please provide clear instructions to staff and guests about this process. After this experience I wasn’t GLAD I stayed.

1. 清潔度不足:預約了兩個房,其中一間梳化有餅碎。
2. 員工態度不好:朋友誤會大堂可以進食(因為旁邊是便利店),被前堂員工不禮貌地趕離,明白是酒店規矩,但希望可以保持禮貌。
3. 亮了”Do not disturb”燈,回到房有兩枝新水在桌上,表示housekeeping員工進過房間。
4.保安度不足:匙卡可到達其他樓層

My friends were told to leave the lobby impolitely because they didn’t know that eating is not allowed in the lobby with a convenient store. They understand the hotel rule but they only want to be told politely.
3. Do not disturb:
We pressed the “Do not disturb” light but found 2 bottles of water on table after going back to room, which means that housekeeping staff came in our room even we turned on the “do not disturb” light.

The rooms in this hotel are 5-star quality but the rest of the hotel is barely worthy of 3 stars. Comfortable, very clean and well-maintained rooms compensate for the lack of general hotel facilities, including catering and even a reception on the ground floor. You have to go the ninth floor, where the staff are distantly polite in the way that office reception staff are when you go for a business meeting. I checked in speaking Korean and it all went smoothly. You will need adaptors for charging if you are traveling from the UK. Excellent location.

We are very lucky that once we reach, rooms are ready.
The room is spacious,
The housekeeping change the towels every day, and they replenish the complimentary water every day. The only thing we don't feel the heater in the room is on as the weather drop dramatically.
Overall we enjoy our stay and is very convenient as there is 7-eleven at the lobby which open till 1am.

I was greeted by Anica Kim, she was very helpful and generous. The hotel is right next to the station which is a bonus. Overall check in experience was great and I would recommend others to visit this hotel as well. There is a wow pass machine right beside the lobby, for anyone who need to redeem their voucher is very nice.

This is a fine piece of tranquility in a city that is on the move. We arrived after a long flight and took the AREX train to Gongdeok Subway Station. Tip, take the exit 9 as it will bring you immediately in front of the hotel. The reception was very nice and we took the room at 23rd floor with a great view on the city. The bathroom was fine, the room is a tad small, but not disturbingly so. The breakfast (in Greets) was good and offered an extensive choice. Locker service for luggage was provided. Plenty of options to have dinner in the neighbourhood.

Glad Mapo is an exceptional hotel for many reasons:

• Strategic Location: Conveniently located with several subway stations and convenience stores nearby. A large Emart is less than a 10-minute walk away. There are a lot of restaurants around the hotel including several Korean Barbecue joints at the back of the hotel.
• Airport Accessibility: Easily accessible from the airport via the AREX.
• Well-Designed Rooms: The rooms are thoughtfully designed and the bathroom is very spacious. It has a standing shower which I love as opposed to other SK hotels which mostly offer a bath tub.
• Cleanliness: The rooms are impeccably clean.
• Outstanding Staff: The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

We have stayed at Glad Mapo multiple times, and it has become our go-to hotel whenever we visit Seoul, thanks to its convenient location and wonderful rooms. During our last stay, there was an incident in the room while we were out, and I was very impressed with how the situation was handled. Nathan and Sunny were extremely helpful and ensured that we had a wonderful stay despite the incident. Situations like these truly demonstrate the excellence of a hotel.

We are very satisfied customers and will continue to frequent this wonderful establishment whenever we return to Seoul.
