Thank you Mr Kim for a wonderful stay in your beautiful 130 year old Korean house. After visiting the National Folk Museum (15 minute walk), I felt like we were staying in one of their exhibits. Just the same – amazing.

A wonderful experience of traditional Korean culture and hospitality.
Gracious, generous service, beautiful ambience and superb breakfasts.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We thank them again.
I prepared to love RakKoJae, but sadly it was just lackluster in many ways. The exterior is beauitful, but the rooms felt surprisingly neglected and the bathrooms were straight up shabby.
Hot water was not consistent and I had to take a cold shower upon...More

I stayed here for 3 nights. The hostess and Kim, hanok manager, were very nice and warm-hearted people. I would recommend this place to travelers who seek traditional hanok to stay. My tour guide told me other hanoks are small compared to Rakkojae.
Wanted to stay in a traditional Korean house whilst in Seoul so opted for this place after reading such good reviews. Stayed in the seperate house for three nights however when you are paying $400AUD per night we left a little dissapointed. Issue getting in...More
This historic neighbourhood was traditionally home to Seoul’s middle and upper-classes. Now it’s most famed for its clusters of beautiful, traditional Korean homes (called hanok), many of which are found in Bukchon. Many of these homes have now been converted into restaurants, cafes, shops, and even guesthouses, and their unique architecture offers a look at Korea’s traditional beauty. Samcheongdong’s main and side
streets attract locals and tourists alike for their quaint and charming scenery, while the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) serves as the residence for South Korea’s president. Art fans will love exploring the many independent and private art galleries in the area.

The bathrooms are actually clean, well equipped with amenities, and don't smell (bathrooms state is something I always check when out traveling). They might not be as spacious as well-established hotels but they are very clean. Even the toilets are similar to those you'd find in Japan (fancy side remote panel)

At the Incheon International Airport, proceed to Exit #5 and take the No. 6011 limousine bus. The bus will pass through downtown Seoul and drop you off at Anguk subway station. It will take approximately 1 1/2 hours from the Incheon Airport to Anguk station.
The closest subway station is Anguk Station Line 3 (Orange line).
Once you arrive at Anguk station, proceed to the No. 2 exit of Anguk station where a Dunkin Donuts shop is on your right. Walking north for about 250m, you'll find the Bukchon Tourist Information Center near Jae-Dong elementary school. At the Information Center, please ask the staff for directions or call us at 02-742-3410. RakKoJae is just 150m away.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!
From everyone over at Rakkojae.
