I travel quite a bit for business and some for pleasure. More recently, due to COVID I haven't traveled as much. I'm a Hilton Diamond and used to be a Bonvoy Platinum before being downgraded to Gold last year (lifetime Gold by default). I had never stayed at this property and checked in for the first time on a Sunday. Asked for a room upgrade as it said on my app that upgrade as a Gold was complimentary. Was told hotel was full. So I added another night for Monday. Same result. Then I added another night Tuesday was told all the same thing. So I called them out on this and they said all upgrade-able rooms were sold out. I wanted to try again so I checked in on Thursday, was told same thing. Friday night same thing. I didn't bother Saturday night, but tried again today (Sunday) was told the same thing. I guess if you're looking to be rewarded or recognized with your member status, this is NOT the place you want to come. After 7 days/nights of trying, I am giving up. Also, I was told I needed to change rooms today and was asked to be in my room as the guest had checked out and the new room would be ready. So I packed up all my stuff and waited...and waited...and waited. I finally called them after an hour and was told to wait some more. Finally after almost 3 hours I was able to move. Understanding that Sunday morning's can be busy, at least they could have told me estimated time so that I could unpack my bag and do some work. But in anticipation that the call could come at anytime, the hotel wasted nearly 3 hours of my valuable time. Not only did I waste my time, but also my money and likely my loyalty to Marriott. As good as the Marriott family of hotels has been in all my times traveling, this has got to be the worst. I encourage the Marriott Corp. to look into this hotel and the services rendered to its elite members. I rarely write reviews but this experienced is an exception that must be noted and shared with others in similar positions. My experience at the other Four Points in and around Seoul have not ever been this bad, because they at least treated me like a valued member. Over here, whether you're a platinum or gold or whatever, you're just like every other cat and dog.

Hotel's Favourite
Very new, clean, and conveniently situated to close to major attractions (Myegondong, Insadong, Gyongbokgung, etc...). Priced very competitively compared to other few Marriott properties in the area, definitely the best value for money in my opinion. Room: Very clean, with large, wide windows offering a nice view of the area. The shower was great (traditional and rain shower heads). My favorite part of the room was the working table right by the large windows with power and usb outlet, perfect to get some work done for people working remotely Breakfast: Breakfast area was also brightly lit with large windows offering great views. It was not crowded at all compared to other popular staycation properties in the area, and they served a wide range of food (buffet style). Bonvoy member benefits: Was recogniezd for my Titanium status and received a nice room upgrade. While there is no executive lounge, there is really no need for one here as there are tons of great bars / cafes around the area you won't want to stay inside for too long anyway. The ugraded room includes a big table if you need to get some work done.

My wife were looking for an economical staycation, and picked Myeongdong. I had just made Bonvoy Platinum, and after seeing some other reviews mention room upgrades, we thought we'd roll the dice on this Four Points. The location is very convenient to Myeongdong and the metro, which is just outside the entrance. I booked the basic ("Superior") room the night before. On the drive to the hotel on the day of our reservation, I checked the Marriott Bonvoy app, and I saw that we had been upgraded to the Deluxe King Room. Overall, check-in was fast and easy. They welcomed me as Plat, and asked me whether I wanted points or a welcome gift or free daily breakfast. I took the breakfast. We also got two drink coupons for our stay, which we turned in for a couple large beers (in cans). The pictures of the Deluxe King Bedroom and the Deluxe Guest Bathroom are both very accurate. It's basically a new hotel, anyways. My wife and I really appreciated the large desk in the bedroom. Both of us could work with plenty of extra space (Some 'staycation', huh?! Haha). Breakfast was definitely very good. Very fresh ingredients, as far as we could tell. A large variety of basics and then some. Four fresh cut fruits to choose from (banana, apple, orange, grapefruit); a wide variety of coffees to choose from, out of the machine, including quite good cappuccino. There are both Western and Korean foods available for breakfast. There's a custom-order Udon station, but we didn't see any egg/omelette station. There's a nice bar/lounge area for a small group to chill out after a day of sightseeing, on the same floor as reception, on the opposite side. If I were in a group of 5-6 friends, I think that place would be nice to have a drink and just wind down... In between reception and this lounge area there is a long work table and a couple computers and printer, apparently available for free. We thought that was also quite stylish and generous. In the hotel, there's a nice fitness room including treadmills, and a large coin-op laundry room with a handful of washers/dryers. As others have mentioned, and as you should be prepared for, parking costs 15k KRW daily. Also note that there are only about 10 spots in that underground parking. Apparently you will be directed to park next to a neighboring building if you can't find parking downstairs. As it was, we were lucky on arrival to get the last spot, and we didn't move our car until check-out. The only small flaw (extremely minor!) during our stay was that our room (#1310) made some strange noises in the late evening and early morning... as if heavy wooden or metal objects were being dropped or smacked together. I mentioned it during check-out and they said they'd look into it. Anyways, the hotel is basically still brand new. It's a no-nonsense place. If you're looking for a place in Myeongdong that's right around $100 per night with breakfast, this place is very good.

This is a relatively new hotel with comfortable and clean rooms. Proximity to a good number of reataurants makes it a good staycation spot for locals also. We went on a three day weekend when the hotel had a high occupancy rate. We spent a significant amount of time waiting for the three inefficient elevators (buttons had to he pressed separately on those making them stop needlessly on floors). The restaurant couldn't handle all the guests for breakfast and some guests had to wait a long time to get seated. Buffet itself wasn't efficiently designed with the egg station hovering over the buffet food causing all sorts of disorder and crowding. It's a nice hotel but I wouldn't recommend during a holiday weekend and definitely wouldn't recommend breakfast unless you're willing to eat at 7am.

I am a recent platinum Bonvoy member and have stayed in nearly all the properties in Seoul (thanks Covid) for fun weekend getaways. We noted this new hotel as an option and jumped at the opportunity to stay as we enjoyed the four points in Apgujeong/Gangnam. Cons; 1. Parking is 15k a day and they do not even have a parking garage beside the 6 spots they offer... this is not an exaggeration. We had to park beside at a tall building in which the hotel has a partnership. I get Seoul parking is expensive but 15k a day for a hotel stay is steep... 2. The aircon was turned off which I know is normal for Seoul (for some reason). Our room was a balmy 80F degree when we walked in and once we popped the window open only cooled to 77F. Luckily the window did open but with the AQI of 150+ all weekend it was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" style of decision making. The temperature made it that while sleeping at night was entirely uncomfortable. I called down to the front desk to ask if they could somehow turn it on but was told no with an apology (no offer of fan mind you). At check out, I commented on the room temp and was told "Koreans find it cold this time of the year so they turn the aircon off but we could have offered you a fan if you asked". Just blew my mind... We also slept with our main door cracked to get a draft as without it being open no cool air entered. Even with all these steps, our room only cooled to 73F in the morning when the outside tempt was about 45F overnight. We observed many rooms with open outside windows and in the morning we saw many people with their main doors popped open as we did to let a draft in. This might seem needy for some but for a Marriott property to turn an amenity off is bizarre. 3. The shower has a frosted window that does not function as it was intended. When my partner was in the shower there was no privacy. This made for awkward showers but I would advise adding a blind over the window to prevent this. If you plan to stay here with someone you are not 100% comfortable with you will have to have a shower plan, unfortunately. Pros: 1. Great Location as it is within a 20 min walk to a ton of major attractions like Myeongdong, Insadong, the palace, and nearly Dongdaemun. 2. Solid, as expected amenities that the hotel offered. 3. Great coffee options around the hotel 4. Foods surround the hotel but this is the north part of myeongdong so many options are around. 5. It was clean and the staff was generally rather positive. Overall, we would stay here again given some of the cons listed. Mainly bc we will choose to stay here when it is in the dead of summer or winter so it will not be too hot in the rooms!
