Le Méridien Seoul, Myeongdong garners high praise for its attentive service and spotless rooms, with guests appreciating the modern amenities and stylish décor. The hotel's prime location is a hit for its convenience to shopping and transit, although the bustling night scene may not suit everyone.
While the cozy, well-equipped rooms with city views are a draw, some guests feel they are a tad snug. Opinions on value show a divide; certain travelers question the pricing and exclusivity of services.

Detailed Reviews
I had an absolutely lovely stay at the Le Meridien. I always find Le Meridien to offer a great experience/service, and the Seoul location was no exception. The room was big, bright, with smart touches like an iPad that controlled parts of the room.
The room was very smartly designed and offered a ton of storage. Three big built in cabinets adorn the entry hall, providing lots of storage for hanging clothes, shoes, and other items. A built in luggage rack on the other side to securely place your bag on.
I absolutely loved having a filtered water dispenser in my room. This was my first time in Korea, so maybe this is normal in hotels, but it is the first time I've seen something like that in a hotel. I drink a ton of water when I travel, so it was awesome not going through constant water bottles and having an endless supply of fresh, filtered water.
Location was great. Close to all the shopping and night market of Myeongdong (<3 min walk), but without being *right* in the chaos. A short walk over to the Namsan Cable Car station that takes you to the top of the mountain.
There are a few quirks to the hotel, with it being a combined Le Meriden and Moxy. If you come in from street level, getting to your room requires going down an escalator, up the elevator to level 4, through the Le Meridien entrance, and then up another elevator to your floor. I think they consider the main entrance to be where cars drop off, which is underground and requires walking down a ramp that isn't obvious until once you've been in the hotel.
I thought hotel rates were fairly reasonable, for a Le Meridien, but the luxury nature of the hotel comes through in other services of the hotel. I packed light and needed to send out laundry during my stay, and spent $110 US for a small load. The breakfast buffet was delicious but if it isn't included in your rate costs 54,000 won or about $40 US. The restaurant/cafe in the lobby really shocked me. I came back to the room midday and housekeeping was in, so I decided to grab a coffee in the lobby and my cold brew came in at 24,000 won / $17 US! I thought it was a mistake at first!
But, I later learned the perk of sharing a building with the Moxy is I could easy pop in to the Moxy's lobby bar for a much more reasonably priced drink (and still charge it to my room).
After 5 days, I did start to tire of fighting the Myeongdong night market crowds when going back to the hotel. That would be the only reason I wouldn't stay at the Le Meridien again, because the hotel was lovely, I'd just want to experience a different neighborhood.

Phenomenal hotel and staff. From the moment you enter and are greeted by the front desk, you feel at home. The decor is beautiful. I was in king deluxe. The bed was very comfortable. The room comes with an air purifier, Illy X7 IperExpresso machine, a bedside tablet to control room temp, lights, requests, and room service.
As a titanium elite, I was thrilled to have access to the 15th floor lounge. They provide a wonderful breakfast buffet, snacks during the day, and a scrumptious dinner buffet (including no charge alcohol too!). I found the food to be fantastic. Loved the ability to order eggs my way as part of breakfast, as well as enjoying Korean foods.
I was also able to enjoy the lunch buffet downstairs which proved to be very satisfying, and came with complimentary sparkling wine. The lunch buffet provided extensive offerings (including lobster tail!), a chef that came table side to provide sliced beef, and some pretty delicious desserts! I tried room service, and was pleased with the quickness of delivery, and the food arrived hot.
This was a spectacular experience from day one until I had to leave 6 days later. I highly recommend experiencing Le Meridian Seoul Myeongdong on your next visit to Seoul.

+1
We had a stay of 7 nights at Le Meridien Myeongdong in May 2024. We booked the base room - Deluxe King with City view.
Our checkin experience was great - we arrived early to the hotel at around 12noon after flying to Seoul via Singapore from Australia, so we were super tired and needed to refresh. We were so happy to be allowed to checkin early.
Due to us staying 7 nights we were offered complimentary breakfast on our final day, however due to needing to get to the airport early we were not able to partake in this - which we informed them - it would have therefore been nice to be offered this on a different day but they did not offer :(
The room was very new, clean and tidy. We actually had a view over Myeongdong whereas many of the other rooms just look out on a nearby building wall. The bathroom was large and the shower pressure/temperature was great. Daily housekeeping was good and did not miss anything.
We liked that there was a filtered water dispenser rather than providing bottled water - this is more eco-friendly.
Unfortunately the bed was super firm and we did not enjoy the mattress.
During our stay the pool was closed for maintenance, this did not bother us but we were only informed of this 2 weeks prior to our stay.
Previous reviewers have complained about the hotel entrance. There is the entrance down the laneway nearby the CU convenience store, but there is also the front entrance next to TWG tea which is very obvious and completely fine to use.
The only issue was having to take 2 elevators to get out to street level - reception is on level 4 (and is shared with the Moxy hotel which is also in the same building) so you take a lift from your room to level 4, walk to another lift and then take this from level 4 to ground. This is a bit of a pain when doing this multiple times a day.
The hotel is in a great location, close to the Myeongdong subway station and department stores, loads of shops and restaurants. The area can get very crowded and overwhelming at night time especially, and for this reason we would probably stay in a different location on our next stay in Seoul.

Le Meridien is our new favorite hotel in Seoul. This is partially due to the beautiful aesthetics of the hotel but mostly due to the absolutely phenomenal service. We love the Paris themed art work. The executive lounge is a well designed place to have breakfast in the mornings or tea/coffee at any time. Claire and SoYi were standouts from our last stay, but all of the lounge staff members were warm and welcoming. While we were at the hotel, we booked our next stay (just a week later!) because this is a place to truly relax. (Tip: be sure to save time to enjoy the soaking bathtub!) The hotel is in a very central and convenient location for anyone visiting Seoul (on Line 4 of the subway, myriad bus choices, and taxis everywhere). We simply cannot recommend it highly enough and can't wait to go back!

The stay was very good. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Linens and bedding were very comfortable and loved that the hotel provided a water purifier which guests can get unlimited access to water. This is especially good for parents with young kids.
Location was really good too, very near to the main street and areas, and at the same time, away from the busy noise and crowd.
However, there was a weird sewerage smell in the toilet, but the hotel was not able to resolve it during our stay. Hotel may need to fix this for future travellers.

Best place to redeem Marriott Benefits in Seoul. The hotel is a relatively new, with clean rooms and facilities.
Check-in: The hotel staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate. I arrived at 7am on the day of check in, and asked if I could shower at the pool locker room. Instead, I was luckily offered to check in immediately, almost 7 hours before regular check in time. I was also asked if I am willing to wait longer for room updates as part of Bonvoy Platinum benefit, but I chose to check in early. I was also asked for late check out to accommodate my schedule.
Breakfast: I chose free breakfast as my Platinum welcome gift. While there was no table service food or drinks, the food selection was decent and tasted good. The breakfast offered order made sushi. Espresso machines were also available for self made coffee. The staff was also very quick to remove dishes from our table.
Club Lounge: Platinum members also get access to the club lounge. The evening cocktail hour offers a few cold and hot plates with selection of drinks, which is sufficient for a light dinner. The staff was attentive and tried to check in for any needs every once a while.
Overall, the hotel offers great service for the price given its location in Myung Dong, especially for Bonvoy Platinum members and above. The staff also further takes the experience by accommodating to my needs and schedule. Very positive stay, will be back during my next stay in Seoul.

I have never had such a strange experience at Marriott property or any other hotel chains as I did at Le Meridien Seoul. I have booked Le Meridien promo "stay longer". I visited front desk a day prior and the staff asked if I would like to put a deposit. Sure, why not. She then charged 3,9mill "deposit" on the card and said that if I have other expenses I will have to come to the front desk to put more "deposit", as if I will dine and dash. I was a bit confused with the amount of deposit as the room I booked was not a prepaid, but I signed anyway. I have also asked if I could upgrade the room to suite for 3 or even 2 nights as I needed to work from the room. She said it's based on daily availability, which actually was available on the website. She then changed the story and instead of giving me the upgrade price, she said "it's not from the hotel, it has to be done by Marriott Central". I can't imagine how busy Marriott HQ if everyone has to call them to change the room! I really hope there was some kind of misunderstanding, including when she asked a personal question which was irrelevant. Now I will have to extend my stay, it will be interesting to see if I have to contact Bonvoy HQ just to do this.
I ended up staying in original room I have booked as I didn't want to call Marriott "central" to change room. Room is on level 12 near the lift with a city view, kind of small but modern. I've received 2 welcome cards for Titanium member, chocolates and a bottle of wine. If you're an elite member, you will get a lounge access, and choice of points or breakfast and 4pm checkout.
This hotel has everything I need. Gym, business centre, club lounge, pool and location. Staff in club lounge and restaurant are very helpful and food is absolutely delish. Kudos for kitchen staff. What makes this hotel shines is front desk staff on the chat room and concierge. They always respond quickly and act under 5 minutes. When the aircon in the room was not working in the middle of the night, they offered to send maintenance staff right away. Will I come back to Le Meridien? Absolutely, if I have to stay in Myeongdong area. Otherwise, there are other hotels which always give warm welcome to Bonvoy elites.

Sleek hotel that just opened end 2022. Room size is a little on the small side but the in-room amenities made up for the lack of size. Illy expresso machine adds a welcoming presence - capsules are provided and that is a notch up from the usual coffee bags you get in typical hotel rooms.
Toiletries are from Malin+ Goetz which seemed to align with the hotel's philosophy of going natural.
Location is unbeatable if you are into the Myeongdong's street stalls.

The hotel is located at the edge of busy shoping streets and lanes in Myeongdong, exactly where we wanted to stay. Our International Taxi dropped us off at the Basement Reception and the hotel staff were quick and efficient with our luggage. In fact all the staff, we came across were helpful and friendly.
We were taken up to the 15th Floor Reception, where we met some of the most friendly and helpful receptionists. Once our room was assigned, our bags and suitcases were delivered to our room on the 9th Fl. even before we got to our room.
The room was an upgrade for being a Titanium Member. It was clean, bright and spacious and somewhat above our expectations. It had all the amenities we needed. Housekeeping was daily, housekeepers do a perfect job- Very nice compared to most of the chain hotels we experienced in the USA since Covid.
We were offered breakfast in the 15th Floor Lounge daily, and evening snacks each day. The variety of food was extensive and amazingly good for a hotel executive lounge.
Our three night stay was very enjoyable.
We will certainly stay here again for our next Seoul visit.

Great experience staying with Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong.
Staffs were very friendly and helpful, their service went extra miles to assist us. Also, they gave us surprise when we arrived there by giving birthday amenities and perks. We were so grateful for their kindness.
Their location is very strategic which right in the myeongdong and basically you can enjoy the shopping and foods just step out from the Hotel.
Not to say their breakfast were nice . Must try their bulgogi beef and the soup.
This is an overall exceptional good Hotel with superb hospitality and excellent location.
Must stay if you visit Seoul.

its all depend on season you are traveling
honestly don’t know, my daughter is 15 but I saw kids there between 7 and 15ish both during breakfast and Hors d'oeuvres I think it’s ok as long as they are part of your party. Unlike other Marriott Lounge, here they ask for your room # and they can tell how many persons are allowed.
Having just been there, I think you can. It will be a bit tight and you will have extra costs but I think it would work.
It is in a downtown and there must be near-by. Or please also check Moxy in the same building.
Warm greetings from Le Meridien Seoul Myeongdong!

Should you need any further assistance or details, please contact our hotel at anytime.
Thank you and have a great day!
