due to my carelessness, I recently missed a USD 550 flight. I called Jay, the manager. it was during Father's Day, at dinner time, but without a word of complaint, he turned up 10 minutes later. he then proceeded to patiently go through my details and persuade booking staff to allow me to reschedule at no extra cost. I was...

The location od Dongdaemun Hostel is excellent... Just a few steps to Exit 4 of Dongdaemun History Metro station (That station is the intersaction of Line 2, 4 and 5, hence, it's super convenient to go anywhere....). The hostel is also very close to airport shuttle stop 6001. There is also a convenient store right in front of the entrance...

It is more like a Goshiwon – 고시원. I wouldn't recommend this place as it is not exactly real cheap, you will be better off staying in a hotel (toyoko inn few steps away) with bigger rooms by paying just a little more. One plus point is that the location is really near to dongdaemun subway station as well as...

It is my second visit and good to see Jay again. Hostel still has been cozy and homely. I really like Dongdaemun Hostel. cheap price, best service, free WIFI, location next to the subway station and airport bus stop and so on,. (Also, It was very nice that there is a convenience shop on the first floor :D ) If...

The inn is literally right next to a convenience store and just outside of the Dongdaemun History and Culture Park metro stop. Most important though is the super friendly attitudes and helpfulness of the staff (who speak great English, by the way). They were always willing to answer questions or just chat, even in the middle of the night. Would...

A great hostel for budget tourists. The location is very close to DongDaeMun Market and subway. Room is small but I think is enough for 1 person. People are very nice and the hostel is very clean. It is my first choice of choosing place in Seoul:D

So, the good news is that this place is very close to the metro (take Line 4 to Dongdaemun Cultural Park, take exit 4, and the hostel is about 30 meters ahead on your left), close to crazy shopping, has cheap single rooms, friendly staff, and is reasonably okay for a hostel. The bad news: they still haven't learned how...

**Rooms and the Quality** I have been in DongDaemon Hostel from 20 to 26 August 2012. In my opinion, this hostel is the best in its kind because it provides everything that a tourist may need, with the minimum price and satisfying quality. Although it is a hostel, its rooms are private so you have a bed, a bath room...

We were able to book the 3 beds room during our stay. it's basically like our own studio apartment. Downside is that there is no elevator in the building so you have to use the stairs to go to the top floor, where our room is located. It's only our room and the roof top patio on the top floor...

When booking a hostel I only expect a quiet, clean place and, depending on the budget, better mattress or better services. In this hostel's case, paying a bit more than 30 euro/night anything just clean and quiet would do it. Before my arrival, I was asked to confirm the arrival time, which I did, but then nobody was there. I...

Staying in Dongdaemun / Sindangdong

Neighbourhood Profile
Dongdaemun / Sindangdong
For shopping enthusiasts, Dongdaemun is a must visit. Enormous shopping centres – stacked with multiple levels of boutique and independent shops – offer the latest in Korean fashion, cosmetics, accessories, and other goods while prices are relatively low. The night shopping (between late night and early morning) is particularly well known here, making Dongdaemun a place where you can literally shop until you drop. If fashion isn't what you’re looking for, the long-running wholesale markets nearby sell everything from cloth to utensils at lower prices. The rows of food stalls that set up at night ensure shoppers get refueled, and foodies will enjoy checking out nearby Sindang-dong’s Tteokbokki Town as well as some non-Korean offerings from the Central Asian Village near Dongdaemun.
