We stay 3 nights there, and everything is so good. It's easy to get subway to go everywhere. The staff is so friendly and room is cozy but so clean. There are hairdryer, air-conditioner, heated floor and toilet with shampoo, conditioner, shower in the room... We will come back there soon.

Very small rooms and not enough room to put and arrange our luggage. (Oh wells we did purchase many from korea) But its really affordable and value for money. Rooms were clean with great amenities. Toners and moisturizers etc were provided. Hotel was easy to find and we can find many restaurants and streetfood in the area. Location of the... More

Very nice smaller hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and quiet for sleeping. Free wifi worked well. Breakfast in the morning was simple yet very good. You need to turn down a little alley to find the hotel, but once you find it you will enjoy the hotel's central location and proximity to the subway.... More

Nice place to check into after a 5 hour bus trip from Changwon City. Room very comfortable, nice linen, tv, everything one would expect. Close to main street and visiting places. No noise experience at all.

GS Hotel is located between Jongnosam-ga station and Euljirosam station, both ways take only 5 minutes walk. Very unique location and quiet surrounding as it is not located in the main street. The only drawback is they do not have parking lot. The hotel very clean, well equipped amenities, courteous and pleasant staff. Breakfast is fine standard calories and nutrition.... More

The hotel is well-located in the center of Seoul and quite close to the subway, so it's very convenient. Otherwise don't expect much, the rooms are clean, but very small. The bathrooms are super tiny and the shower/sink is in the same area, which I found a bit strange. The breakfast is also nothing to write home about, pretty much... More

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
