We have no complaint against the hotel or the room based on its three stars status but the female and male staff at the reception during our May 2016 3 nights stay were very unfriendly when we tried to approach them for direction or to request help to read a few Korean words. They tried to brush us off or...

i love their heated toilet seat in their bathrooms. clean, great service and accomodating staff. as we stayed, six nights, we were only given once a small bar of soap. we had to buy shampoo and additional soap at the 7-11 located within the hotel lobby. very easy to go to if you take airport express from incheon international. from...

I made a last minute booking at Insadong Crown Hotel due to an early morning meeting I had the next morning. I did not have much time to research but found the location perfect for my purpose, and thus booked the hotel. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the main Insadong street and it is surrou ded...

Location is good but the interior including the furniture is a bit old and antique. Rooms are small and a bit dark, probably due to the lighting. The lift is quite small and when there are people with bags & luggage would be difficult.

The location is ok but the staff and service were horrible. They didn't understand a word in english and didn't try to help. They overpriced the room because they didn't want backpackers in the hotel and they didn't even want to show us the room before booking. All in all a very bad place.

Pretty good location near Anguk station and bunch or restaurants and pubs. The hotel is very dated and needs a make over. It is definitely a budget hotel. The rooms are very small for the price though compared to other hotels in Seoul. The reception staff were fairly helpful.

Stayed one night on business. Price and location were best selling points. Room was dated but clean and spacious. Bathroom with tub. Flat screen tv and fridge in room. Bring your own shampoo. A/C was on but not very cool. Bed was comfotable- firm but not a board. Hotel has one very tiny elevator so wait is long during rush...

I came on May'12 with group of 37 peoples which use 18 Rooms. Our bus can't stop infront of the hotel so we have to walk & carry our lugguage bit far which is uncomfortable situation for family with senior citizen & children. The worst is there's only 1 Small Lift / Elevator which run very slow so we have...

It is well situated to visit Insadong. There was old carpet on the floor of our double room quite small and in day time we felt cold. No breakfast included. The restaurant on the firt floor was not heated. It seems to be overpriced. The Doulos Hotel for less money is much much better. If you book at this hotel a...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
