Hotel located in great location.
Load of cafes and restaurant at the corner.

Staffs at reception are nice gave me early checked in and speak very good English.

Housekeeper on 5th floor always smile and greeted you.

But room is old, carpet is dirt and you can see it obvious. All furnitures already out date.
No view for standard room. It building next to your room.

Even it located nearby the road but it quiet enough to had a good sleep.

With this price it is good stayed.

What a find! Could not believe the location given how affordable the hotel was. Walking distance to the 2 beautiful palaces the Gyeongbokgung and the Changyeonggung as well as the cute cafes and shopping streets of the hanbok village and Insadong. Hotel and clean and comfortable, steps to the subway!

The hotel is located near Jonggak Station of Subway Line 1, and Jongno 2-ga bus stop of the airport bus 6002 (10,000 won). Airport bus 6005 (15,000 won) starts in front of the hotel. The difference in price is the seat, 4 in a row for #6002 and 3 or #6005.

The staff members are courteous. The breakfast is not complimentary for me; it costs 9,900 won. It is mainly a western breakfast. The room has two bottles of water and two complimentary 3-in-1 coffee bags. There are only two Korean-type outlets on the desk and one above TV. There is no safe. The hotel has a small but reasonably equipped fitness center, which I did not expect.

There are many eateries towards Jonggak. Everyday, except Monday, at 11 am is the “Bosingak Bell-Ringing Ceremony”. Visitors can participate ringing the bell and can make a wish at the strike of 12th bell ring at noon while laying their hands on the bell. On Tuesdays Foreigners can have hands-on experience, like putting on traditional costumes.

It was a nightmare. Staff speaking a rude English laughing at us because we were asking when was the shuttle for the airport. The service is intolerably poor. They advertise themselves as being a 5 stars, I would not even give a 3 stars for the service and the rooms. Our "high floor" room was dirty (see the pictures), tiny, facing a wall. The staff was most of the time absent, no one was there, see our pictures! how can you imagine shoot pictures of a hotel lobby with just no one in there. It is really surrealistic. My wife and I are allergic to smoke they gave us a smoking room and refuse to change the room for us. You need a double PHD in astrodynamics in order to flush the toilet. To us it was wrong, very wrong, terrible wrong. We will not recommend this hotel and we will certainly never come back.

I stayed in the Aventree for a few nights, and have had the opportunity to try many of its amenities.

On the pro-side, it is excellent value for money, the rooms are clean, relatively spacious. The breakfast is excellent, yet not included n the room and more expensive than the brunch deal that they propose at midday. The cleaning service was good. The location of the hotel is perfect for tourists... The staff is very courteous and helpful.

On the side to improve, the amount of trainees there is too much, since they come unsupervised at odd hours. I arrived early in the morning, was met by a trainee who made a mistake regarding my rate, opening my credit card, etc. Then on the day of check out, I was attended by two trainees who had no idea that my room had been paid for before, etc. Their english was not enough to respond to my simple instructions regarding payment and I ended up having money debited from my account... which remains to be returned as of today, even though their boss called the bank to fix it... So, an obvious need is for trainees at reception to be backed up by a ergular member of staff, this will avoid such type of mistakes. understand that this is a new hotel and that people need to be trained, but not at the customer's expense...

Another important point, for travelers with children, is that their windows are not equipped with basic security normally present in hotel rooms, and open completely: very dangerous for children. There is no security for windows at this hotel, and they are very reachable to children due to a bow-window type of arrangement... My daughter could have fallen to her death if she had been unsupervised while she tried to open the window out of the blue... The matter was quickly corrrected by the hotel, which dispatched a team to block the window completely.. which meant no fresh air for the next 6 days... still, a priceless compromise while being faced with the possibility of a dead child.

Stayed four nights in this very modern and clean hotel which has a nice location in Jongno-gu district - there are temples, shopping streets and subway station etc. within walking distance.

The room wasn't too big but still well equipped and comfortable. This has to be quite new hotel as everything looked so tidy and clean. Staff was friendly but had a bit limited english skills (which is common in Korea).

Breakfast buffet was comprehensive with both western and korean stylish food.

Can highly recommend this hotel, good value for the money.

Arriving in Korea for the first time? want to make it easy on yourself? Hotel Aventree is the answer.
Get off the plane, do the security thing then head to floor one and find the orange bus booths. A ticket on bus 6005 will leave directly outside the hotel about 60 90 minutes later traffic dependant. The hotel itself is straightforward, helpful staff, small but clean and. Warm rooms, the usual fascinations with electronic bidet etc etc. nothing special, but out the back door past the 7 11 and you are in Insadong for a great feed. There is a gym haha, but you can do floor work and bike or run on treadmills. Again, not flash but for the price it's fine. And when you have to head back into the hell of long haul, the bus awaits just outside. It's the Aventree and it's easy.

If you are looking for a good location for a good Seoul trip that includes sighseeing and shoppings. Well this will be a good choice because its circumference is surrounded by the main attractions. If you are a person who prefers to walk to enjoy your sightseeing, this hotel can reach the following sights - Bukchon, Insa-dong, Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace, Myeongdong. I have reached all these places through walking alone. Because it is located just two subway stops from Seoul train station, you can easily access to other stations in Seoul and out of Seoul quite easily.

The room is reasonably clean and all basic amenities have been provided. The shower water is strong and hair-dryer have ionic function. Only disadvantage is the shower curtain cannot refrain the water from spilling onto the floor at the dressing area. My roommates and I tried all sort of ways even placing the dustbin outside the curtain to control the water from dripping onto the dressing areas. Do helps a bit but still not perfect The floor mat is always wet because of this reason. The most cost efficient method is to extend the length of the shower curtain so the water will not spill. Hope the hotel will improve on this area. Just note the bathroom is using glass door and wall. For people who are shy and want privacy it will not be appropriate.

There is free wifi access in your room and two pc at the hotel lobby for guest access.

The buffet breakfast was included in my hotel bookings. Its really a five-star hotel standard breakfast. The salad spread is quite generous which includes smoked salmon and smoked duck. I can say my roommates and me are quite impressive of the breakfast spread provided in this hotel. Definitely will opt for breakfast to be included in my stay next time.

How to reach the hotel? By taking the airport railroad train to Seoul Station (normal commuters at Won3,980 at 53 min or express train non stop at Won8,000 discounted from Won 13,700 till end of 2013 at 43 min ) and transfer to line 1 Jonggak Station exit from 3-1 (Acutally exit 3-1 was hidden along exit 2. Look for Standard Chartered Bank at exit 2, you will find 3-1), walk straight for about 10 minutes. The hotel is located along the main road. If you have luggages, the lift is available in the railway station and subway station, just search for the lift sign or the disabled person sign in the stations. If you come out from the lift from Jonggak station, Jongno Tower is standing right infront of you, just walk round the corner of the building to the side that you see traditional painting materials and brushes, you are on the right way. If you pass by The Skin Food or Olive Young shops that means you have make the wrong turn.

Just a hint for you for those who wanted to visit the Ssamziegil at Insa-Dong. It is just located behind this hotel. The shortcut way, at the hotel exit turn to your right, roughly about 100m, look at the side lane on your right along the way you will find a lane that shows a Italian restaurant and Seven Day Adventist Church, walk along this lane for about 100m, see a few art gallery workshop, suddenly the popular Insa-Dong path will appear infront of you. Ssamziegil a 5 storey building will be slightly on the left of your sight.

This is my second stay with Hotel Aventree, and it is my go-to hotel in Seoul now—excellent location, nice room, a fitness center, a safe, and easy access to Bukhansan National Park.

The hotel is located near Jonggak Station of Subway Line 1, and Jongno 2-ga bus stop of the airport bus 6002 (10,000 won; 4 seats in a row). Airport bus 6005 (15,000 won; 3 seats in a row) starts in front of the hotel. I also notice this time that Bus #704 is just in front of the hotel; #704 takes you to Bukhansan National Park Fortress entrance. Going there takes 50 minutes, and returning 60 minutes. Every time I am in Seoul, I always try to go hiking in Bukhansan.

The staff members are courteous. The room seems newly remodeled, is bright and clean. The room has two bottles of water and two complimentary 3-in-1 coffee bags. It is also nice to have a safe now. There are only two Korean-type outlets on the desk.

Another plus feature that I did not notice last time is the fitness center. It has 3 treadmills, 2 cycling stations, a multifunction weight station, etc.

The hotel is two blocks from Insadong, which has many souvenir shops and nice restaurants. There are also many eateries towards Jonggak. Everyday, except Monday, at 11 am is the “Bosingak Bell-Ringing Ceremony”. Visitors can participate ringing the bell and can make a wish at the strike of 12th bell ring at noon while laying their hands on the bell. Airport bus #6005 (15,000 Won) takes you across from the hotel, and it starts right in front of the hotel to the airport. Airport bus #6002 (10,000 Won) can drop you off at Jongno 2-ga stop, and it is about 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The difference in price is seats (3 in a row for #6005 and 4 in a row for #6002). Have a nice stay.

What is the nearest subway exit to the hotel? Does it have an escalator or elevator? We have luggage.
Answer from Inimiichan

Hi.. As mentioned by Roger up there, the closest one is Jonggak Station, it's about 500 m on foot, I think. If you're bringing heavy luggage, using airport bus is much more sensible, since the bus literally stop in front of the hotel door. Aventree Hotel is the first and last stop on Airport bus no 6015, so it's very convenient for those with luggage. Bus cost 15.000 KRW and it takes about an hour to and from Incheon Airport on normal traffic.
