It was good enough for me that the room was spacious, well-lit, warm at winter and bed was comfortable. A big plus was the bathroom that was also spacious and equipped with bidet and rain shower system. For this price range, it will not be easy to find these features elsewhere in Seoul that even comes with a decent breakfast buffet offering more than the usual basics from other guesthouse in the city. But do not expect much more than this as you just get what you pay for. Extra needs come with additional charges such as a full toiletry set and bath towel. However, body wash, shampoo and small towel are available in the room so you still have the option of just making do with that but bring toothbrush and toothpaste. You can also ask for extra small towels. You will have complimentary three bottles of water and there are water dispensers around the hotel which is very good. The management can do better with maintenance. Facilities in the lobby seem worn out with a smell of naphthalene. There were molds on the edges of the bathroom glass walls. I actually wanted to clean it out as my flat in Korea has the same bathroom style and I encounter the same trouble with the molds but it goes away with one wipe of the cleaning solution I use regularly. As for the location, it is around a market vicinity. There is a bus stop nearby but the subway station is a 5-minute walk and you would pass by an alley. It was dark and scary around 10pm so you may opt to pass a longer way. It is close to attractions but not at walking distance so the budget you save for accommodation might be allotted for transpo. The staff can be friendlier. I witnessed a staff getting impatient and sounded unpleasant with a guest asking for help with directions.

If you're on a tight budget but wants to have comfy place to stay, I suggest you check the hostels/hotels outside the usual Myeongdong and Dongdaemun area. A good example is our stay in Seoul N Hotel near Dongmyo station. They have fresh linens and good breakfast. My mom, who's a senior citizen had a great time staying here for 5 days. Contrary to the usual noodles, bread and egg breakfast. This hotel offers, a variety of food in buffet style breakfast! We love their fried mandoo! Coffee, fresh milk and orange juice are also present. There's also banana and coleslaw for health conscious. It's great if you will have your reservation early. Ours was through Agoda. Only concern that we have was the leaking sink beside the bed. But other than that, its a very good place to stay. They even allowed us to leave our luggage(for free!) while we went on a 3 day trip to Jeju. Coin operated washers and dryers and also available. Hot and Cold water dispenser was also present at the hallway! .In addition to that, few meters from the hotel is Dongyo flea market.

The N Hotel used to be called the N Hostel which is a more accurate description. There are hostel styled dorm rooms available.
The facility is 14 stories with one elevator. You wait for the elevator often.
We had a presidential suite and a triple. The presidential suite is on the top floor and ours also had a small outdoor veranda useful for drying laundry.
The suite is poorly appointed with very tired bedding and a duvet that was not quite sized for the bed. The suite is large with a separate area for seating. The washing machine holds about 3 gallons of laundry - I did not know washing machines could be made this small. Our suite had 2 air conditioning units and only 1 worked. There was extensive damage to the ceiling - looked liked water damage.
The triple was fine. The rooms all had a moldy smell.

The front desk is more akin to what I've seen at youth hostels, not at a hotel. You have to put down deposits (10K won) for extra room key or power adapter. They give you paper vouchers for the breakfast.

The rooms were clean but very small. Western sensibilities will be challenged with regards to room size but the rooms are clean. The location can't be beat. You're right near Namdaemun Market and the Seoul subway and transit system. Breakfast is provided daily so that's helpful. Recommended for solo travelers or those who are comfortable with being very cozy with each other. The owner of the hotel can often be found working behind the desk so when you say hi, you may be talking to her. She was very kind.

Location is nice. It’s very near Dongmyo Stn. The hotel is very comfy and warm. We don’t need the A/C at all. The space of the room is okay and the bathroom although at first I felt uncomfy because it’s a tinted glass dividing to the room, but it’s fine I guess. My only complain is the breakfast timing, it’s 8am-10am. Most hotels schedule their bfast from
6am and as a tourist, we leave the hotel at 7-8am. We only use the bfast voucher on the last day.

Location far from train station need to walk at least 10mins. Hard to find the hotel since location not along the roadway you need to walk to the alley to reach the hotel. Staff reception is not friendly at all -> OMG how they can be a front desk staff if they don’t know what is customer service. I never expected this in korea🙁😌😌Breakfast is limited we tried once but my hubby and I decided not to eat breakfast in the hotel. Bottle water you need to refill in the water dispenser, the room towel you need to ask the reception ( and for your info the towel is the smallest one and if you want big towel you need to pay “extra to rent the towel” which is absolutely ridiculous! NO toothbrush- Bring your own ) And you need to write and place in the reception box if you need tissues and throw your rubbish. And most of time even we ask when we come back to our room, you still need to go down to the reception and ask again. And the hotel have one elevator you need to wait for awhile, Room is small - if you have big luggage, it’s really a struggle to open both.. Honestly not a good idea to stay, Think twice if you will stay to this hotel..

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotel is located near Dongymo subway station exit no. 2 and 3. It is easy to be found.
Both the staffs at the front desk and the lounge at breakfast time were nice, friendly and helpful. The staffs at the front desk could speak Korean, English and some even speaks Mandarin. The room was bigger and better than I expected. I stayed at the single room, had to climb a ladder to the upper level to get into the bed. Pay attention while climbing the ladder. It was okay for me. It seemed quite strange at the first sight but I found it was cute. The surrounding was quiet. It was thankful that I could sleep quite well.
Breakfast was included in the room price. There were fruit, boiled eggs, sausages, deep-fried dumplings, salad, bread, porridge, cereal, milk, Juice and tea. I like making toast. The breakfast was simple but delicious. There were drinking machine at the corridor on some floors. It was convenient.
Wifi was stable and fast.
Some eateries around was not expensive. And I could buy some Korean food and snacks which were cheaper than those in the big supermarket.

I will definitely stay there again next time.

Stayed 2 nights here when I returned to Seoul before heading to Incheon. Location is down an alleyway with lots of fabric shops and trims shops nearby. It is bang in between Dongmyo and Sinseol-dong metro stops and is within walking distance of the 2. Reception staff appeared curt at first but were overall friendly and efficient and sped through the check in process. I would describe the hotel more of boutique/hostel.....it had a communal area near the lobby where you could chill with also coin laundry located there too. The basement is where breakfast is served for 3500 won, which my other half enjoyed. We had a double room with private shower and toilet, but the hotel also offers dorm facilities too. Our room was small, but storage was made under the bed for our cases, very clever use of space. Be warned the toilet and shower has clouded but transparent doors, so if you are shy doing your business let your roomie know, my other half found it hilarious. The roof top accessible via stairs from 14th floor has amazing views of namsan tower, it’s a great place to hang out at night and enjoy the view and smoke if you are a smoker. Dongdaemun is a mere 20 minute walk away where late night shopping is possible to the early hours of the morning. If you like shopping till all hours and don’t want to worry about transport home after hours then this is the hotel for you. But do remember your key card as the main door is locked after 11pm and only accessible via key card access.
