This location is great, smack bang on the middle of the action. As I regard a hotel a place to sleep & get cleaned up, this was perfect. Got a coffee/ waffle joint on the first floor if you need anything. 24 hour room service is a convenience store on the ground floor. Room was cleaned well every day, staff... More

Excellent location to all the shops ~ close to the train station, countless of places to shop, and lots restaurants. However, the hotel security is very poor. The front desk people are rarely seen and people go in and out easily. The room is dirty. The wall has what looks like a food stain and has a hole next to... More

Actually is really basic. The location is good if you want to go around all the shops and malls...but do not expect calm and peace. Is a really shopaholic area!! Close to the subway The room are ok.nothing excellent, but quite comfortable....well..i could feel that someone smoked in there actually. The good point is The cafe really close where you... More

Stayed for 4 nights. It is near to the mrt and smack in Myeongdong. After purchasing from the skincare shops, we come back to our rooms to rest our feet and put our purchases. Close to the limousine stop and Isaac (for toast). I have stayed in Nine Tree, as a comparison I woud prefer Savoy due to location and... More

This was my second time staying at the Savoy. You can take the airport bus into the city and this will be the last stop at Myeongdong station. The hotel is a bit hard to find at first, but once you've found it you'll realize it's in a great location. The hotel is located perfectly for enjoying the Myeongdong walking... More

I was staying at Savoy Hotel for 5D4N during my honeymoon time in December 2015 The place is very strategic. In the middle of Myeongdong Street and walking distance to Myeongdong subway station The place is surrounded by plenty of restaurant, cosmetic shop, department store and even street food at night and there is GS25 oopen 24 hours beside the... Pros: - Room heating is good - Service staff can speak good English and helped with reservation. - Room was clean and good and spacious - Location is excellent, right in the heart of the Myeongdong shopping district. Very near airport limousine bus stop too. Cons: - There're no non-smoking rooms, only no-smell rooms if you request for it. But... More

It was located near by myeongdong station and easy to get in. Stuff really helpful. Plus point from other hotel: in front of the lobby there is a weighing scale which is helpful during packaging our stuff before departure.

Most accessible, very clean and staff are friendly. Have no complaints at all, and wifi works smoothly. Convenience stall just at entrance too. Lots of shopping around hotel and delicious food is just few hundred meters away. Prices are below S$100/ night.

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
