Location is good, near a few bus lines and down the street and within walking distance of the COEX mall. There is a convenience store next door, but the hotel location is a little standalone so dining options require a walk. Check in was fairly smooth, although when I checked in their systems were down and they had to mark me in using paper. They couldn't process my credit card until their system came back up. Titanium status was recognized and I took breakfast for my benefit. No room upgrades were available or expected as it was a busy holiday weekend. The room was modern and somewhat minimalist, as expected of the brand. There was a considerable amount of noise from the cars outside, even late at night, with loud engines and cars accelerating down the road. Not the best location for light sleepers. The room had good positioning for outlets. The bed was also comfortable. Breakfast had a decent amount of selection, both hot and cold options. It was not a massive spread, but much better than aLoft brands in the US that only have to-go options and not a full blown restaurant option in the hotel. Although the hotel was fine for location and the breakfast was good for the brand and price point, I personally would not stay here again due to the road noise.…

There are pet-friendly rooms which can attract many pet lovers. Aloft in general does not have Suite nor club lounge. So it is true that many of Platinum (or above) elite members do not prefer this brand. But this Aloft Gangnam has 4 wonderful Suites (2 urban and 2 river view) with lovely private Balcony. Even though elite members can not get upgrades to Suite as a benefit, the property provides special benefit which can be consulted with the Front desk. Along with private Balcony, it is attractive to enjoy bathing in the bathtub while looking at the Han River. Living are is separated from bed by privacy wall. Location is good and the room rates are very reasonable. Staffs are considerate and attentive, special thanks to Mr. S.H. Kim (Team Manager) for his top notch service. If a property should be chosen in Gangnam area, this Aloft Gangnam is highly recommendable. It has very good value for the money.…
I didn’t actually stay at this hotel, but the lady from the front desk went above and beyond to find me a taxi. She was so kind and helpful. I’m very grateful for her assistance as she made an otherwise stressful situation not stressful at all. I will definitely look to stay here next time I’m in Seoul!
Staff is rude, front desk does not respond to messages on the Marriott app, definitely the worst Marriot hotel I have stayed in. I wanted to escalate and apparently manager is busy and they don't even know when the manager will get free :-) So I am still waiting at the reception to talk to the manager.
Pros: 1. Conveniently located to Coex mall (15mins walk) and the Cheongdam subway station (4min walk) 2. Nice area, great view if you get a room facing the river Cons: 1. Staff were not very friendly or welcoming 2. Food: There wasn't much food options available in the evening except for a chicken store and a couple of CVS (and a starbucks but it closes at 10), so if you get hungry in the middle of the night and don't have the coupang app it would be pretty inconvenient 3. The hotel was pretty old and not very well kept, we changed room twice and both rooms had an odd and unpleasant odour and the corridor of the hotel smelt of cigarette smoke too! it also didn't help that certain parts of the room was literally falling apart, like the shower door was not able to shut completely and the entire toilet was wet. To add on we also found an old t-shirt behind the curtains... For context, we are titanium elite members and when we feedback to the staff via email we were not given a response... Note: Do take note that there's a "green room option" that does not include turn down service meaning that if you were to stay there for 1-2 weeks your sheets and towels won't be changed and an additional fee applies for you to get the turn down service (it was a first experience for us as we have never encountered such an odd regulation in all our hotel stay, but I guess it's better for the environment) …
Stayed for 2 nights at ‘City View’ room. It was literally a nightmare. 1. Cigarette smell in the room Once you step into the room, you can smell the cigarette odor. Apparently there’s no cigarette smoke detector in rooms and smokers freely smoke in rooms and it just comes out into your room through the ventilator. There’s a smoking penalty warning signs in the room but you would wonder why the hotel even put the penalty notice when they can’t even detect or stop it. Later on, I complained to front desk. They just apologised but no further action was taken. 2. No soundproofing windows : loud noise directly coming from supercar race until 3am If it’s a city view room, the room will directly face Youngdong daero which is a big multi lane road. Supercars and motorbikes race the road with backfiring and crackling noise until 3am and you will feel like you’re lying in the middle of the road with the loud noise banging into your ears. 3. No soundproof between rooms This woman was screaming, arguing with someone and continuously banging the door until 2am and I could hear everything.…
I attended a conference at COEX. I walked to the conference center in 15 minutes. There were plenty of coffee houses, restaurants in the area. The hotel was clean and bright with well appointed rooms. The staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant at all times. I had several requests that were met immediately with a friendly manner. They were all a pleasure. There is a gym with plenty of equipment for a good workout and good hours of 5AM to 10 PM so I could use it before and after work. The only downside is lack of food services. Refuel did not offer much. Thank you Aloft Staff for making my stay so pleasant.
A true 3-star hotel. the Aloft brand is for budget-conscious travelers. I stayed here for a few weeks and it was truly an interesting stay. I respect Aloft for it being to the standard of a Marriott property in terms of cleanliness and service. Just note, the rooms are SMALL. And controlling the a/c is quite difficult and doesn't really get the job done. The mini-fridges are way too small to fit anything so I can't make sense of it being there at all. The breakfast options are lacking as they were just mini breakfast boxes with no flavor. This hotel is great for the location if you need to be in this area and that's just it. They should actually rename is Aloft Seoul Cheongdam. It's nowhere near the main central areas of Gangnam. So First-timers to Korea, take note of this location. I usually can note staff to recognize, but none were particularly personable. This can be something management can probably improve on.…
What I like about Aloft Seoul Gangnam is the room was relatively spacious, clean and staffs were friendly and helpful. Like other reviews, the hotel is located by the main roads so car noises could be an issue. We requested & stayed at higher floor 13th and we could still hear some noises in our sleep occasionally. If you are a light sleeper this hotel is not for you. The hotel bar / restaurants / buffets were still shut during our stay and would remain shut till end of the year (2021) according to staffs. Breakfast take out box available at KRW9900. If you drive, free parking available but limited spaces. Parking is accessible by car lift. It could be tricky if you have a big car. Valet parking available at KRW 5000. Gym is small but sufficient.
It is my first time to experience Aloft. Aloft in general does not have Suite nor club lounge. So it is true that many of Platinum (or above) elite members do not prefer this brand. Even though elite members can not get upgardes to Suite as a benefit, the property provides special benefit which can be consulted with the Front desk. Even without Suite upgrade, members can enjoy many things. Platinum (or above) elite members can also get free breakfast (for member +1 guest). Location is good and the room rates are very reasonable. Staffs are considerable and attentive (especially thanks to MoD, Mr. Jayden Kim for his top notch service.)
