Due to financial and logistical constraints we ended up staying in old Cairo.
We are 20 minutes (with no traffic. Don't bet on that however) from all the major
historical sites and the Khalily souk was a 5 minute walk away.

Nice and decent hotel situated in the middle of old Cairo. Staff was very helpful and our stay was pleasant. Cleanliness was good as well. And a special mention of good breakfast that included eggs, cheese, jam and bread with choice of tea or coffee....More
1) pick-up from the airport didn't show up. + They would have charged almost the double (100 EGP) of what a regular taxi costs (50 EGP).
2) Very difficult to find.
3) No power nor running water for 2 hours on day of arrival.
The hostel itself is fine. Things are in decent repair, internet is average, breakfast was plain but good. It's not especially social and not a great place to meet new people on its own. That being said, I still recommend this hostel over any other...More
