Be aware: there are several small hotels or inns in this area with very similar names which can be confusing. Use the address to distinguish them. We stayed here four nights. This property has 8-10 rooms and the rooftop, where the breakfast is served, offers a great view of the Pyramids and Sphinx. Rooftop is a great place to relax at night, as well. Our room was on the third level and there is no elevator. Like everywhere in Egypt, you will be dealing with an all-male staff, who were nice. Breakfast (included) was extensive and satisfactory :cheeses, hard boiled egg, falafel, fruit, yogurt, bread, etc. Eat while enjoying a great view of the pyramids! The neighborhood is very interesting with camels and horses mixed with vehicles on the street. We felt safe here; although, like everywhere in Egypt, the shopkeepers can be aggressive in seeking a sale. The items which disappointed me were that the Inn failed to respond to my emails in advance of our arrival. I emailed twice, about 10 days apart, to confirm the reservation and the arrangements for our airport pickup. Receiving no response, we made other arrangements to get here from the airport. (Use Uber, which seems to be the best and least expensive way to get around Cairo and Giza.) A call would have been possible; however, most of the staff spoke minimal English, which may have made a telephone call difficult. Several mostly young men staff this Inn. They were nice and willing to help; however, they seem to not share information and prices for services vary. For departure, we inquired about a ride to the airport and were told $40 U.S., then a couple of days later we took a car, which they arranged, and we were charged only $25. ( Uber is less.) We asked for a 6:00 am wake-up call, which we did not receive, although being assured we would. The young man was asleep on the couch in the lobby at 7:00 am when we went downstairs. Be sure to set your alarm! We needed our luggage stored for a few hours and one young man told us “no charge”, while another said $15. Not a fancy place; however, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the neighborhood and the room was satisfactory (the shower was very small) and we would return. Wi-Fi service is spotty.…
Stayed there 2 nights with friends. First line VIEWS to Giza plateau and pyramids, even the Sphinx from certain rooms. Wonderful view and picture from Top Roof Bar. STAFF: Unbelievably friendly and helpful. Special mention at Top Toof Bar to Mr ALÍ BABA , just like a father to all customers; always a smile and very witty, remembering your preferences and with a great psycologial touch . A real gentleman and a great proffessional man. Mr YUSUF was also a great help. Very CLEAN premises. Customised corridors and even the elevator/lift with Old Egiptian motives. A bit too flashy, but, it is meant for tourists. Lots of staff making sure you were properly entertained and served. ROOMS: A bit messy corridors to get to some of them. Very clean and with amenities and your own boiler for hot water (so, it´s up to you if you overuse hot water) .Good space and not noisy. More price for the rooms with a BALCONY to pyramids (but, 1st line price is also the noise and smells of the street: camels and horses to and fro). FOR LIGHT SLEEPERS I´d recomend an "STANDARD room"= "no balcony" room; just a window to an "Egitian patio" , but far from street noise, lift engine noise and crossing corridors...... so very silent for a good sleep. FRONT DESK STAFF also very welcoming and providing with anything you may need: from general information to tips on tourism, food, prices, etc. Special mention to DINA (the only woman I saw in the premises) and MUHAMAD (slim and very friendly, talking several languages- Japanesse included- who helped us with suggestions to try real local food at cheap prices , and with all the silly needs we all have when outside our own country) They all made my stay there a VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. Cont: although my arabic is not too good, the owner seemed a bit rough to his workers. Shoudn´t do that ..... but, it is an opinion. Marraukhra, inshallah. Good luck to you all.…
We stayed there for three nights over Christmas, I arrived there early than our expected check in time ( 4.30 a.m.). As we was really tired, they provide us with a temporary room for sleeping also with breakfast, than later on about 11.30 a.m. they transferred us to our room. The room was huge with two double beds, with bathroom, air con, television, wardrobe, small table and balcony with pyramid view and street view. Breakfast and view of the pyramids from roof top is great also you can see the light show of pyramids at evening. Room and beds was really clean and presentable conditions. All the staff was very polite and helpful. At check in they asked us to pay with U.S. Dollars or with Euro currency, we said we don't have none of these and we travel from England and offer them card payments, but they refused the card payments and except cash payment in Egyptian currency also except less than quoted price, which is unbelievable. Our planned visit in Egypt was three days in Giza and three days in Luxor. During the stay at this hotel, we tried took book plane and train tickets to Luxor and we refused due stupid currency issue ( U.S. Dollars / Euro) and totally hopeless. When we mention our problem to the manager and asked them to help us, next day the owner provide one of his staff to go to the coach station and get us return coach tickets from Cairo to Luxor so, we will not face same problem on our return. They also provide us taxi service to the coach station on time. We probably could not make it without their help.…
I would recommend this hotel. Everybody is nice and ready to help. Mimo is very helpful, informative and concern about your safety. The rooftop is awesome as well. The view of the Pyramids is spectacular. The breakfast is good.
I booked with them 2 months a ago, once i arrived with my family at 1am (tired and hungry as our flight was delayed). When I tried to pay, the staff tried to charge me an extra £200 Egyptian money. And when I told him that he is charging me extra, he said my rate calculator is different that’s why. But when I asked him what his rate was, it was the same as mine, and then went to charge me the right amount as I was right. He told me we still had a family room booked with a view, and our room was ready. Once we went up to our room, they showed us one couple room on one floor, and another couple room on another floor. I was disappointed and went downstairs and told him that I will not accept this as we want to sleep together in a family room. He said he will arrange a family room for me now and will show me it. When I was on my way to go to the ‘family room’, he took me outside the building and into a building next door and said ‘this is the shortcut to go to the family room’. And once I entered the room, I was in disbelief. He took me to a different hotel and the room so absolutely disgusting, with horrible sofa bed, and one bedroom. The beds, sofa, furniture and carpet were all filthy and worn out. I don’t think anyone would ever live or stay there. I wish I had taken a picture of it. I was fuming and asked for a refund, he at first denied giving me it and then eventually realised he isn’t providing me the service so he gave it. He still made me pay for the taxi fee, when it was meant to be complimentary. He told me that I will never find any family hotel at this time and area. I got my refund and booked another hotel right next to them called ‘Sahara Pyramid Inn’, which had a beautiful family room with the pyramid view. And the staff were very accommodating and lovely. They even charged me less than half the price with the better service, and family room. It was £4000 Egyptian pounds with Giza Pyramids and £1900 Egyptian pounds with Sahara Pyramids Inn. I think it would be better to book at Sahara instead of the dishonest people here.…
I decided I would never publish a bad review. I’d just rather choose to NOT review than give a bad review! However, this place really deserves this review, as I would definitely NOT reccomend this to anyone. On our second day, someone stole my son’s phone and some money from our locked room. Went to the reception to report it, few hours later I was called by the owner to be informed that they reviewed the security footage showing that I left my room with a phone in my hand. I stressed out that my son’s iphone was stolen, and they said they would check the footage. At 22:30 I got a call on the room phone, saying the staff was in front of the room. I opened, they put me on the phone with the manager who said no one entered the room but me, and that they would not let me see the video myself (on the note: that camera was ONLY positioned to record the entrance to our room, so no GDPR issues for other guests would arise). So, even this was an affordable accomodation, in the end it costed me more that three-fold. So, I would definitely NOT repeat this, and I definitely would NOT reccomend it.…
We stayed at the Giza Pyramid Inn which is right next door to the Great Pyramid Inn. Both offer an Amazing view of the Pyramids and the Sphinx from the rooftop. Giza has better American food, think burgers, fries, pizza, chicken tenders, etc. Great has a fancier menu with a variety of different ethnic cuisines. You will wait significantly longer for your dinner at Great though. We ordered a dessert with our meal and asked for it about 20 minutes after our entrée. We ended up leaving about 75 minutes later without ever having gotten it. Breakfast buffet at Great is pretty decent. Ali, the host will take good care of you. Their juice is fresh squeezed and 100% juice and they serve the best falafel in the area. The elevator at Giza was out of order while I was there. The elevator at Great is small. It will hold 1 person with two normal sized pieces of checked luggage, comfortably. Each floor at each hotel burns a different incense every evening, (migraine sufferers will understand why I mention that) The only two real "issues" were the echoes are so loud you can't tell whose door is actually being knocked on and they only give you one physical key for your room. You have a mini-fridge, your own water heater, (takes about 15 minutes to heat for a nice shower) and a comfortable bed that doesn't swallow you when you lay on it. There are stray dogs everywhere but the two you will see most is Willie, and his son...Willie. They are sweet boys who would come see me every night and every morning for pets. If you want souvenirs and don't want to spend more money than you need to, Hassan has an Art shop right next door with beautiful hand drawn Zodiac pictures on banana papyrus. He will put your name on it in Hieroglyphics. Average cost is 100 - 150 Egyptian Pounds. Just as a comparison, buying a similar Zodiac picture from the Papyrus Museum is 800-1000 Egyptian Pounds. To give as souvenirs, Hassan's are more than adequate. A man walks around in the morning selling scarves for 50 pounds. The same scarf is 80 pounds at the Bazaar, etc... If you want an authentic cultural experience hire KEMO (like Kemosabe) from the Great Pyramid. Our day out with him was the absolute best day I spent in Cairo. He took us to the Khan el-khalili (Bazaar), did all the haggling for me and got me the best prices on the items I wanted that they don't have around the hotel. We also went to a local mall cause I needed to buy a jacket, a little market for snacks, a road side stand selling fresh fruit, the Papyrus Museum, and a perfume/essential oils shop. He's very nice, safe, and knowledgeable. He also managed to get my travel partners lost luggage from the airport after 5 other people from our group were turned away and told to come back the next day when the "desk was opened" If you want to go somewhere or tour something, find Kemo and he will make it an enjoyable, hassle-free, experience. The following day I did a tour to the Pyramids, Rode a camel, had lunch on the Nile River, and went to the Egyptian museum. I spent the whole time wishing Kemo was my guide. Best pieces of advice I can give are: carry A LOT of small bills or exchange your money for Egyptian Pounds and get A LOT of 20s and 50s. In my experience, if they ask for 100 and you pull a 50 or 2) 20s out of your pocket and say it's all you have, they will accept it rather than have you walk off. Download a free currency conversion app to your phone! Shop owners WILL rip you off if you give them USD and they give you change in EGP. If you want to see the sights but not sign up for an overcrowded tour, find Kemo and tell him what you want and he will make it happen. Don't let anyone fool you with "Egyptian Hospitality", NOTHING is ever "Free". And if you love dogs, take a bag of begging strips with you for Willie and the boys.…
We booked a pyramid view room w a balcony. The view was very nice and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. However, we never got internet in our room, the power was out for our entire 2nd day and they wouldn’t even supply candles or flashlights to see at night so we had to shower and dress via our phone’s flashlights. No discount or apology was offered. The driver they provided charged us double for our scheduled airport transportation (we paid him because he had our luggage and we just wanted to get away from him safely). And he won’t quit messaging me on WhatsApp so I had to block him. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel and I advise to stay away if you can.
Except the view from the rooftop nothing was great about the property. The guy named Mahmoud who sits at the reception is the most cunning guy Disliked · I really thought the booking.com reviews are are credible and trusted upon but we were proved wrong the moment we got off the car. The area around the hotel is a stable are where it stinks 24/7 with loud noises and flies all around. The additional taxes didn't show up when I reserved the place only when we were at the reception were informed of it. While we were checking in the receptionist was more interested in selling his tour packages which were 70 percent hiked up then the packages in Viator. I list down the reality check which we got: No elevator in the property Rooms are tiny and windows are not soundproof as mentioned by them. And trust me it's a noisy neighborhood No jetspray in the bathroom Dirty carpets Unwashed duvet and pillow covers Breakfast is only scrambled egg, falafel and breads everyday If u booking an Uber from your hotel they wont be able to locate it and eventually they will cancel on you which you have to pay 13egp for no reason. We tried giving to Mahmoud for assisting the driver looked like he was fooling with the driver and next moment they cancelled on us. This hotel really spoiled our experience don't ever book it. The few better options I saw was hayat pyramids view right next to it, Cleopatra hotel etc…
ok this hotel is for people who want to get a great view of the majestic pyramids of Giza. That is why I stayed here. I know the hotels are not 5 star in the area but that isn't what it was about. The staff are friendly and very helpful. the rooms are average. the rooftop view is great.
